"We found
in the advertisement section of Angie's List Magazine, and we are so glad that we did! He got back to us within 24 hours to" set up an appointment and come to our home.
was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to our needs and preferences. He is a fantastic listener who gives feedback only when asked his opinion unlike many contractors who can be very aggressive with their ideas for your home. Getting an architect and having a plan in hand before getting bids from contractors is definitely the way to go!!! While we already had ideas for our kitchen and laundry remodel, we really needed
to help us to design our new bonus room above the existing garage and the new staircase to access it.
took pictures and measurements at the first meeting after listening to what we wanted. He kept communicating with us throughout the process and was able to send plans via PDF attachments via e-mail as well as bring the prints to our home in person. When we changed our mind about a few things in the kitchen after the preliminary drawings, he altered the plans without any problem. We are so happy with his plan for our new bonus room and staircase. He solved an issue that both we and a couple of contractors were
over for many months. He also worked with us to design a functional, affordable, organized, and re-sellable kitchen/laundry area. His final plans include various views and elevations of the various construction areas, and they include many detailed construction notes. It is clear that much time, thought, and energy was put into the drawings to make sure that every detail and angle is illustrated/explained.
charged us $2800 for the entire process (which was stated at the first meeting), and we have large blueprints as well as electronic copies of the final drawings. He divided the payments into thirds and provided a detailed invoice of services rendered: 1/3 retainer fee to begin the process, 1/3 design fee, and 1/3 construction drawings fee. He also stated that he would make himself available to us and to our contractor should any questions or issues arise during the construction/remodel phase.
gave us an information sheet with recommended contractors as well as companies for cabinets, appliances, plumbing, lighting, interior design, tile, windows/doors/siding/gutters, tree removal, HVAC, framers, and surveyors all with whom he has worked. Though the homeowner can present
's plans to any contractor of his/her choice, we will most likely go with one of
's recommendations since they have experience reading and executing
's plans. And we trust/value
's judgment.

"We were a witness to it all as we stayed in the house throughout the entire project. I can honestly say they kept a very professional workspace, and performed at" the highest level.
was able to design each section of our project to our entire specifications, and show us how it could turn out prior to the construction on his ipad. The team we worked with were highly professional and became friends not just business associates. The work was completed on time and everything that was promised was completed as promised. The lighting looked amazing, especially with the lighting switches with the levels. The ceiling looks waaay better than before. My wife was impressed just as much as I was, thank you again.

Architect first - for around $1000 typically you will get site consultation, a few sketches showing what you said you wanted, and a preliminary (by the book) cost estimate - that you can use to figure if your budget or scope of work needs major adjustment. Then, if you go ahead, typically about 10-20% of total project cost for complete plans and specs (including above cost), depending on complexity and level of interior design detail, and if construction inspection services are included.

Generally, nothing is free with an architect - unlike a contractor where a bit of consultation and a rough estimate is a lead-in to the actual work he hopes to get (the construction/repair) and part of his bidding cost, an architect (and engineer) makes his living giving advice and consultation and developing designs and cost estimates - so giving it away for free is sort of like a dentist doing sample fillings for free. Some will come to your house to discuss your concepts for 15-20 minutes for free, basically to see if they want to take you on as a client or feel your job is the type or size they want, but you should expect little or nothing in the way of a design or cost estimate for free - the most you might get would be an opinion on whether it sounds, off the cuff, like your budget is roughly in line with your desired scope of the project.

On more complex or up-scale remodels, it is not unusual to contact several architecture firms and request proposals - where they basically come see the site, then give you a sketch or few or more common today, computer-generated altered photos of your place, showing conceptually what they can do for you, then you choose the one you like the most and go with that one for final design. Typically $500-1000 range fee (each) to get that done for small jobs, larger jobs will typically be no charge but that assumes probably $25-50,000 plus anticipated fees if they get the job.

Bear in mind in the latter scenario you cannot pick and choose betweenthe best parts of each proposal - the architect owns the design and it is copyrighted, so while you can choose bui9lding elements (dormers, bay windows, etc) from any of the proposals, specific design or color combinations are copyrighted by the proposer.

For the "get-go,"
Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
was very informative about all the steps in the process of building our new home. We first heard about
Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
from a friend that had recently used their services. We went to the website and found a plan that was so close to what we wanted. We then called
Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
and made an appointment to make so personal changes to make things EXACTLY as we needed them. They always met the deadlines we set and made a lot of changes on the go. We couldn't be happier and the prices were great! We had shopped around for other designers in the area, as well as online and we're quite pleased. We believe we got far more than what we paid for. Although we plan to grow old in our
Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
house, if we ever decide to build again...
Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
will be our first call.

Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
was wonderful. He responded quickly, came when he said he would and gave me an estimate for doing the work. He also offered recommendations that are saving me a lot of money with this project. The drawing he provided me with were excellent. I plan to use him for all of my drafting needs as my company grows.

I was never contacted by this company to get the work started. When I reached out to them a few months later, they were very apologetic, but unhelpful and obviously disorganized. I talked to
Bozeman Architects Provider Name Locked
in the office.

Based off our initial meeting, I was already drawn towards Doggers through there professionalism, and ability to stand out from the rest of the contractors we met with in a knowledgeable standpoint. We ended up deciding that a follow up meeting was necessary including my wife.
Shortly after we contracted Doggers for the work.
Overall it was a great experience considering the length of the project and the way in which the stages were followed, no complaints here. End result turned out amazing. The kitchen completely functional, as opposed to the previous layout it had, and now with the addition of the laundry room we have more space. The bathrooms are amazing to look at. The tile work, and detail is perfectly symmetrical and clean, impressive. We never had an issue and they covered every detail as promised, so job well done.

I was gathering estimates for my basement, and he wanted to charge me $200 for a plan. So I went ahead and did it, and I made an appointment to go to his office. When I got there he was not prepared for me, and the plan was nothing we discussed, and the estimate was significantly higher, and it was not itemized. I emailed him yesterday saying the estimate was not a real estimate, and I want my money back.

They were thorough and meticulous. The quality and workmanship was excellent. They had good communication skills. Overall, the job was extremely well done. We did have an issue with one of the sub contractors and he kind of stretched the work out.
