"We were very impressed with
and the work that he and his crew did for us. He was extremely prompt, very friendly and fair. The work was" done very quickly and they didn't even leave a stick in the yard when they were done and they did a lot of trimming. Thanks for the quality work!

-Tammy D.

"I had an appointment that took several months to uphold. The home office did not warn us of the lengthy delay. I had to call and call again to get any traction" on the issue. I am glad the work was completed (and completed well). I felt that the execution and the lack of notice were unprofessional.

Hiring to trim trees? A how-to guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

Removing a tree is the most expensive service, and typically includes cutting it down section by section, then hauling away the pieces. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Kathleen L. of Keizer, Ore.)

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Poplarville

It was fun to watch, and I took lots of pictures. They had the equipment and skills to bring down these three trees, which were too close to my house for the next ice storm. They did an excellent job of taking them down and did a superb job of clean up once the trees were down. I've used them before, and I'll use them again. I've got lots of trees.

Pat did a fantastic job. I've used his services in the past and he has always done a fantastic job. His prices are very fair for the work that needs to be done. He is not a 'fly-by-night' business like so many tree services are. He is very experienced and extremely professional. He is always on-sight for the jobs, working with and directing the crew. They always leave things so neat you would hardly know they were ever there (except for the fact that the trees are gone, of course).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pat to anyone.

We called and they came out to look at the work within 24 hours. The team showed up and we showed them where the trees were that we needed removed and they provided an estimate and return date. They came earlier than estimated and did a great job removing the trees. All were pines

dab in the middle of a bunch of dogwoods. They were able to remove the pines with zero injury to the surrounding trees and did the usual great clean up.

When we discovered in the morning that a huge old growth maple had fallen across our driveway, we called several tree removal companies.
Poplarville Tree Services Provider Name Locked
was able to come out 2 hours later. They assessed the situation and gave us a quote that was considerably lower than another estimate we got. They gave us options like minimal clearing of the driveway and totally hauling the tree away. We chose the first, and they got to work. An hour later, the tree was cut up and pushed to the side of the road so that our driveway was free and clear. The two young men who worked on the project were very friendly and professional. We were totally pleased with the work they did.

We bought the $199 for $400 of pruning. I thought this would be a great deal because our regular guy charges us about $400 for 3 or 4 hours. When the one guy came out for the estimate, it seemed steep, but we went ahead anyway.
They were here for less than 2 hours. When I mentioned that the olive tree was still rather "full" he told me to go down under the tree and look up where I could see what had been removed from a better point of view. Same with the liquid amber. He pointed out how he had "balanced" the tree, but I still wasn't happy. They were on the move and I felt uncomfortable making any more requests.
This experience has made me leery of using Angie's Special Deals, it seems that the service providers

up prices to make up for my "savings". A deal should save me money. I was very uncomfortable with the entire experience, and admit that I should have been more assertive about getting what we wanted. Lesson learned. Back to our old tree guy.

came by the same day for an estimate, which was very reasonable, and his crew came to do the work within two days. They worked quickly and efficiently without any need for contact with anyone in the house. All of the debris was removed. They made quick work of the job and did outstanding work. Not only did the trees look wonderful but the crew also carefully applied tree paint to all of the prune sites to prevent disease. The trees' new appearance now adds a great deal to the look of the property. The invoice process was convenient, payment easy, and doing business with

Crew showed up on time and were done within 3 hours. Tree, debris removed and both stumps ground out. Cleaned up every piece of waste. No mess left over. And I also have mulch for other landscaping around the house from the stump grinding. Definitely will recommend to friends/family, and I will use again in the future.
