"With all the rain, they have been quite busy. They had given me an estimate of two weeks, but were able to get it into the schedule within a week. I had some questions" along the way and had contacted them by phone. They were very quick with responses if I had to leave a message. With all work, I really appreciate good communication. This company deserves an A+++ for their communication alone. I am definitely recommending them to others and will use them again myself as we are looking at getting gutter guards.

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?
?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

Of course it was an introductory offer to sell gutter covers and the big deal didn't cover the number of feet we had, so there was an extra charge. Overall, they did a good job and I got what I wanted, but somewhat expensive

came out and gave us an estimate a few days after my call to him. Within a week the roofing crew came out and finished in one day. We are very happy with our roof and new gutters. They found a few preexisting issues and took pictures and showed us the water damaged roof decking.

Downspouts were installed incorrectly with no dropouts - just larger holes cut in the gutter and screwed to the gutter. There were holes which sunlight could be seen through - so of course water would be dropping through as well directly from the gutter instead of down the downspout. GG-NC/

's guys had to return later the day of install to remedy that though he would not admit that this installation was incorrect.
Then, the endcaps they installed were leaking. I had those replaced by them because a couple were leaking. When they got done, most of them leaked - one was literally streaming. They came back 6/9 to fix those and an overshooting issue on one end of the house, and to fix an elbow at the bottom of one of the downspouts that was installed literally backwards ie: the downspout was outside the elbow at bottom rather than the being inserted inside the elbow so of course water came out the downspout rather than out the bottom elbow into the splashblock. Oh boy.
I haven't been able to evaluate the overshoot problem during a heavy rain yet to see if that's fixed but a couple of the endcaps at the back of the house STILL leak. I sent R.

email about that on 6/19 and have yet to receive a response.
Overall, overpriced (at least the downspouts, which cost $900+, where other contractors charged much less - $400-500 for the same 6 downspouts) and very careless work.
Worse, once they got my money (I settled the bill with them on

3 after their return to fix the downspout install issues), their responsiveness has become bad to non-existent, though their contract says they guarantee their downspout/gutter work for 1 year after install.
I feel I should have had them install the gutter guards and left the rest to some other contractor. It's been pretty much a mess, IMO.
Wouldn't use them again though may have to if/when my roof is replaced if the roofer doesn't remove/replace the gutter guards.

realize the total amount of gutter was well over 500 feet. I wasn't prepared for the additional cost of more than the original gutter cleaning special. Since the cost to have all of the gutters cleaned was too much I could only have them clean the 150 feet that the special included. I'm not sure if the employee was aware of the terms of the special since he first quoted a different price for the additional length. He misquoted the gutter guards too but was able to get a hold of the owner who corrected the amounts. It just made me a little skeptical. The owner said she would extend the special price and send that to me in an email but I never did receive one from her.

Classic case of how businesses today are nice and responsive when they might be getting your business and referrals and could care less about retaining clients because the $$$ are not there to be made anymore. Maintenance and fixing issues due to poor design and calculations is not important.

. Did install of gutter system in mid 2013. Had issues the beginning of this year 2015 with system pulling away from wood and bowing occurring due to downpour of rain and nails not being properly placed. Nails were at the
Oxford Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
of the wood and due to there being only one downspout placed in an area with large slope on roof, rain started to come down in sheets eroding all the dirt and causing a massive hole directly next to the house. With prolonged exposure, foundation issues would have occurred. Came and trimmed the inner side of the gutter and reattached to same wood piece without patching any of the original holes. I requested another downspout be installed to alleviate the issue, though I felt that it was a bad judgement and calculation issue on the companies side. Regardless I paid $75 to have it installed in hopes that we would not have to worry about the same damages a couple months/years down the road. I asked the installers to evaluate the rest of the house to see if any other areas needed attention, they insisted nothing else was necessary.
It is now
Oxford Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
, and we have another spot on the other side of the house having the same issue.... but this time, there was no downspout in that area..... therefore the rain sheeting off the roof on heavy rain days created an even larger hole.
Asked to have another downspout installed..... this time they stated it would be another $100. Mind you, a few months ago it was only $75. So because I refused to pay the $100 and stated it was unfair, they stated they told me to go find someone else to do it.
I never stated that this should have been all addressed when they did the calculations in the estimate.... nor did I point fingers for later damage to the foundation could be due to this negligence. I was even willing to pay more than the original stated estimate, though I feel they should have covered it because they should have calculated into the estimate. But than again, they arent engineers and likely don't have any real

and education on how all this should be calculated.
A tragic case of a company gauging the client because they have expressed a need.
They are more than happy to do things for you if it yields them enough $$$.... really how does something go from $75 to $100 over a couple of months.

They were very prompt to reply to my quote request. Quoted price was not the lowest, but with their great reviews and Angie's List discount they were the best choice. Start of the project was delayed some because of weather, so no fault of theirs. However, once they started they completed it in a timely manner. They did a great job of communicating having the lead crew member meet with before work was started and then again half way through to make sure I was happy with how things were going. Once they were done, there were a few small things I noticed that I wanted corrected/re-done, which they did promptly. Since the completion of the project, they have contacted my by e-mail and mail to make sure I am completely satisfied. Very happy and would definitely use
