"I would like to start off by first stating that I
’t normally post reviews on companies whether my experience was good or bad. If" I have a bad experience, I prefer to give the business an opportunity to rectify the issue. In this case, I have given
multiple opportunities to fix problems with their business practices. I have submitted 2 complaints with the Better Business Bureau involving
. The first problem involved the business using a bait and switch sales tactic which after I submitted a BBB complaint, they ended up holding up their end of the deal. Although, as in many or possibly all cases against the company, they will deny responsibility while trying to divert the attention or completely ignoring the substance of the complaint. The information below is from the recent complaint that I submitted to the BBB. The response that I received from
is what I had expected. They didn’t address the issue of their failure to notify me to turn on the breaker panel and set up the monitoring of my solar panels until upon my return from a 6 month deployment and I had to contact them requesting access to monitor my panels and for them to find out they never set up the monitoring. Additional information is as follows: On or around the 28th of June, 2014,
installed solar panels at my residence. At the time, I was vacationing out of state. I received a notice from SDG&E on the 30th of June stating that solar panel system was ready for operation. On June 30th, I received an email from a
employee who wanted to set up the monitoring of my solar panels. I returned from vacation on
1st, I contacted the employee and provided him the information that he was requesting to set up the monitoring system. He informed me via email that he was having problems setting up the monitoring for my panels. Over the next 4 weeks, I provided the employee the additional information that he was requesting and I never heard back from him. I'm in the military and deployed in early August. I returned from deployment late December 2014. I contacted
upon my return to assist me in monitoring my solar panels. A technician was sent out to my residence on
. 31, 2014 where it was discovered that the breaker for the solar panels was never turned on. I had been paying on the loan for the solar panels since
while my residence was still using SDG&E electriciity. I currently have a outstanding electric bill from SDG&E in the amount of $1359.70. No one informed me that I needed to turn on the breaker and when I contacted
to set up the monitoring after the install, no one was sent out to my residence to ensure my solar panels were operating properly even after a
employee acknowledged having issues reading the operation of my solar panels. I feel
should be held responsible,
was paid in full for their service but failed to complete the installation to include monitoring set-up and turning on the solar panels to ensure proper operation after installation.
didn't exercise due diligence when a monitoring problem was discovered in
which would of prevented this situation. In closing, I do like to give a business a benefit of the doubt and look at every situation from the business’s perspective. I feel I have given
that respect. I just
’t see how
doesn’t accept responsibility. To the future solar customers, my military brothers and sisters, I DO NOT RECOMMEND conducting business with

Are you talking about powering your home solely on solar (i.e. no back up power source or off grid).

The power, once convered from DC to AC via the inverter, is suitable for use by the home.

Most solar application are in supplement to the current powering of the home and will spin the meter back in the day but are not the primary.

OK - that should strike Atlantic Plumbing off your vendor list !

You say female pipe to copper pipe connection - I hope you are not saying they connected copper directly to galvanized or black iron pipe. If so, there should have been a dielectric union put in there to prevent corrosion, which could be part of your problem.

Also, generally a bad idea to use teflon tape for hot water tank connections - too much thermal cycling, loosens it up over time. Should use plumbers dope for that application.

It sounds to me like a connection problem - if the tank itself was leaking it should be flooding the top of the tank or more likely running down through the insulation and dripping out the bottom.

Unless you are a do it yourselfer, sounds like you need to find a new plumber with good reviews and rating in your area - Search the List (in green banner bar). This should be an easy fix - should have him put in dielectric couplings (about $5-10 each depending on pipe size) if current connection is iron to copper, and even if not, have him redo connection not only for cold but also hot water - if one was done poorly, probably both were.

I will never use them again, We had an appointment for them to come on a Monday to look at what was wrong and they showed up on a Saturday when we were not home which would have been ok had they not called and spoken to us 6 times before even getting there. Once he finally showed up we were told what was wrong but he couldn't fix it or give pricing because the office was closed and we would be called on Monday with a price and then we could schedule the repair. 2 weeks later we still had not heard from them so we called again and the woman that talks to customers is extremely rude!!! After 15 minutes of dealing with her I finally got a price and was told they could fix it the next day. Over a week later we came home to a note on our door that it was done, we stayed home waiting all day on our appointment day and lost time off from work. It took 3 weeks to get the bill. Service is the worst!!! I will use

It was an excellent experience! The SEM team took care of everything from start to finish. They created a PV system that fit my needs and budget. They sent experts who ensured the project was done correctly and in a timely manner. We were given one contact person who always answered our questions and kept us updated with the project's progress.

After hurricane Sandy we looked at a whole house generator. For just the rare use it seemed to be a bit expensive. The plan we came up with was to install solar with backup for our critical circuits. We do not need it .for heating - as we have a non powered backup for heating ( the reaction to an ice storm some years ago ). We contacted other solar companies who simply looked at Google Earth and told us it would not work for us, even after I told them the Google pictures were out of date. After we contacted

he came out and actually looked at the job - what a concept! He came up with a plan and it was installed and has been working well since then. The job I am reviewing is the 2nd phase that we undertook when we wanted increase our capacity. We were just breaking even with

with the original installation which is what a traditional installation is supposed to do, but wanted more capacity to offset the future purchase of an electric vehicle and electric space heating to offset natural gas heating. Again so far we are very happy with the results.

They weren’t seeing any reporting coming from the panels. It had been two or three weeks before they contacted me to let me know. The problem is with the link box that connects to the network. When I described the box to him that they had installed, they said they have been having a lot of problems with those boxes. They sent a technician out to replace them. He was very punctual and courteous. However, it doesn’t appear that the boxes were replaced. I was under the impression that they were going to replace those boxes. They are currently functioning properly and there are no troubles. These are the same boxes that have failed reporting three or four times now.
