" is a remarkable insurance agent who goes way above and beyond to make sure that we have the right coverage. He has helped with several claims" and has walked us through the process and watched out for us on many occasions. I give and his agency the highest possible recommendation.

Angie's Answers

First, call your insurance company and tell them you do not want any proceeds paid to the contractor under your policy as you are not going with them.  This way they can not collect money on your behalf.  Insurance will typically have you sign a form for release of funds anyway but this is a good extra step to make sure your signature isn't forged.  Second, call the contractor and tell them you will not be needing their services afterall.  Did your husband pay a deposit?  If so it may be non-refundable.  Then follow up with a certified letter.

An email as well doesn't hurt but some states don't yet recognize email as a form of communication for legally binding documentation.  This may have changed and I'm sure more states do recognize them as I haven't followed that topic elsewhere as much as I used to.  The contractor's office should be local.  A sure fire way to ensure they got the message is to deliver the letter to the office of the contractor and have someone at the office sign a duplicate stating it has been recieved and read.  There's no arguing whether they received it or not by doing that.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson about high pressure sales techniques and storm chasers looking for a quick buck.  Some people find out a much harder way.  While these guys may be legitimate you should always do your homework on a contractor before signing the contract.  Unless you have water running out of the house and the work has to be done on the spot it's not so much of an emergency that it can't wait until the next day.

Consider going to library an reading Consumer Reports rating on home insurance companies in your area.  For affordabilty elect the highest deductable you can stomach.  This will lower your premioum, I went thru Costco, they and Sam's Club can be a valuable resource for home and car insurance. Shop on line with your needs to save money.  Unless you have major assets forget large policy. For your gutter and roofing needs see my blog.

Insurance Agent reviews in Lexington

If there was a grade below F for professionalism I would of checked it instead. Very poor customer service, quite disappointed. Do not dare ask to make changes or corrections to an insurance binder as this was a HUGE inconvenience for the insurance agent. She got quite pissy about having to do her job. Wouldn't recommend this company at all!!!
- Diana S.

The lack of organization is unreal. I also blame myself for staying too long with this company. I have to make 2-3 phone calls or 2-3 emails to even get a response from this office. It's frustrating. I plan to spend some time looking for a new agent because my frustration has hit a new high.

Dal was very friendly and knowledgeable and I didn't feel like I was pressured into making any choices. I would recommend going through him for anyone who has questions about life insurance.

In 2008, my mother passed away. The car and home insurance had been in her name, as it was less expensive that way. When she died, I informed of that, and that now only one car and the house would be on the insurance, under my name, as my sister had been given our mother's car. Subsequently, I received bills every six months ...More that seemed a bit high, but I had thought they this would be the combined cost of home and car insurance, as my driving record was excellent, and we had made no homeowner claims in quite some time. Also, during that time, I was kept busy not only with the title transfer of the house, but with several health issues that left me permanently disabled.
In April of 2012, I received and paid their bill. In May, I received a letter from them, stating that they could not find my homeowner insurance. The very next day, I received another letter, stating that I did not have a homeowner policy, and that I now owed more on my car insurance. The next two months I spent calling and emailing them, trying to see if I could get or renew the policy, with little or no response. Finally, I reached someone who would speak with me-I was told they did not do homeowner polices, and gave me no suggestions as to what I might do about getting a policy. A week later, I received a letter apologizing for all the difficulties, with the offer of donating $25 to one of their supported charities.
At that time, I looked into getting car insurance with a different company-when I found one I liked, with an office in my town, I got a policy with them, and called to cancel. I received several letters asking me to come back, but with no offers of homeowner insurance. I replied that I would never again go to them for any type of insurance.
With my new insurance company, I looked into getting homeowner insurance with them. Just before they were to come out for an inspection, Sandy hit, taking out most of my roof, and doing damage to the interior. It was livable, but just barely. Obviously, I could not get homeowner insurance at that time. FEMA helped pay for a new roof, and one of the Sandy Aid groups is helping with the interior.
I am permanently disabled, living on a very limited budget; and not having homeowner insurance to help out with the repair work was very distressing. When the new roof was finished, I was able to get homeowner insurance, and the combination of home & car is now less than I was paying for car insurance with .
I will never advise someone to use , and I will ever go to them for insurance again.

We cancelled our insurance after 34 days. The refund proration was calculated at 796 dollars, but they only refunded 453 dollars. I have let them know of the problem and they have not corrected the refund. The refund took over 2 months to receive.

Very poor!

Refunds from Farmers and State Farm occur with days. This company ...More was very slow and communication came to a halt. When they were selling the policy they were very good, but refunds from cancelled policies were ignored or put on a slow track, hoping you would forget. If I had not been on them, we may never have gotten anything.

Bottom line, we were shorted a few hundred dollars and they have not responded to my concerns.
- John M.

Signed up with him based off of our mortgage companies recommendation. Switched our car insurance with them as well. We were insured several times that it was the exact same coverage. Price wasn't a concern for us as we just liked the policy we had and was switching to have all the insurance under one company. We found out that it wasn't the ...More same when we got in a wreck. We called the owner and he "called his guy" to check on if the gap coverage was on the insurance on the form he got from my previous insurance company. He called me back in 5 mins and said sorry it was never on there. I informed him that I was looking at the same form from the insurance company and its there. He said to call the insurance company he signed us up with and try to figure it out. There is no accountability here as they just want your money and unconcerned with the mistakes they cause people.

It went awesome.
We had been working with another broker, but the policies they quoted us were too hard to decipher, so we reached out to for a second opinion. He was instantly helpful, responsive, provided excellent and thoughtful advice on the level of coverage we needed (and what we could clip). He proactively tailored ...More our policies to our needs, and was a dream to work with. Smart, efficient, and cheap, I will never buy insurance from any one else ever again.

Adjusters were amazing after I suffered a home fire. arrived at my home on the agreed upon time. He knew just what to do. He told me that I would get through this and with tears in my eyes I wanted to believe him. Everything he said came true. A rental home near my kids school was found. They helped ...More me every step of the way. I got a excellent settlement from my insurance provider. I would tell anyone to use . I can't thank them enough.
