"From my 1st phone call i dealt with owner
right away gave me an extremely competitive estimate. I said well" that's a good price and he came back with 'no, that's a great price.' He was right of course but I never like to tip my hand like that lol.
explained in detail what he was going to do and I dropped it off to him. He called me to say it was ready right on time and was concerned that I get my vehicle back. When I picked it up and the mechanic got out he asked me to wait and came out with a cloth and cleaner to clean one little smudge on the door! 1st rate people and service. Car drives great and shifts smoothly. I've only had it back for one day and will update this if anything develops. In summary so far nothing but a good experience.

-Christopher S.

"I was waiting outside of the business for it to open and one of the mechanics had greeted me with "good morning" and had asked me if I had a transmission" issue that needed to be resolved. My car's transmission shifting bushing had went bad. Long story short, the manager and mechanic had helped me and resolved my problem without any grief. The manager definitely has a big heart and is a good guy as well as the mechanic.

were great to work with. Their team did a very good job servicing the transmission on my truck. Quality work and good value. I waited in the shop while the work was being done and got to chat with

as well as observe other customers coming in. One high school senior came by with transmission "problems",

did an inspection and provided a lot of really good guidance on the problem, much of it not related to the transmission itself. Clearly these guys pride themselves on a very high standard of customer service. Highly recommended.

I took my 2001 Ford Cobra to the shop to have my transmission looked at. I knew that some of the sychros were bad in the transmission and was told this was a good shop to go to.... What a mistake that was.... First, the shop told me they didn't even have the right tools to take apart the transmission and asked me if I had the tools. Are you kidding me??? What kind of supposed professional shop doesn't have the right tools to take apart a transmission? Transmission work is the only thing they do and not having the right tools is a joke. Then the shop told me that I had a 6 speed transmission, the car was stock and came with a 5 speed . Cobras never came with a 6 speed transmission til 2003. I had to call their corporate office and complain about these idiots. I had to pay the up front charge of taking out the transmission and having it diagnosed. I refused to pay anything else. I ended up buying a brand new performance transmission, having it towed to someone else to get install. Avoid this shop like the plague.

I manage several large auto dealerships and
Hernando Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
does a lot of our fleet work. Replace and repairing engines and transmissions for us. They complete our work in a timely manner and are in constant contact with me regarding all aspects of any repairs. Prices are great and the work is top notch. I am very happy with the quality of the services they provide for us and will continue to use them in the future for our major mechanical needs.

Diagnosed problem with transmission quickly and started repairs the same day. Very professional and knowledgeable. Stated price beforehand and there were no surprises. Would use them again and would recommend to anyone.

They inspected my transmission, which was detected by another service provider to be slipping. They checked the fluid level and cleanliness, as well as the transmission itself. They drove the car around and evaluated it thoroughly. It was explained to me that based on their evaluation of exactly when it was slipping, plus based on the fluid itself, that it was not likely to be fixed by just a

fluid exchange. They quoted me $250 if I wanted to go through with the fluid exchange, but also explained in terms I could understand why it was probably not going to change anything. He described what they had detected while driving the vehicle, which matched what I had been detecting myself (although until recently did not realize was a sign of a bad transmission), and why those things meant it was not a

fluid issue. I was told what it would cost if I wanted to replace my transmission. I did not want to spend that kind of money replacing my transmission, since I might just prefer to get a new car. I am going to check if my warranty covers any transmission work, and if it does, I will request to allow me to have the service done at this facility as I feel like I can trust them. Plus I got a referral to this place from another auto service provider that I trust, so that makes me feel even more confident that I found the right place for my transmission needs. I feel like Transfixed explained everything thoroughly to me so I can make the best decision. The gentleman I spoke to was honest and professional. If I get any transmission work done on this car or any other in the future, I will go to this facility for service.

I am very pleased with the work that
Hernando Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
and his crew did. The price was exactly what he quoted and work done on time. It isn't a large transmission chain so if you are looking just for nice lounge then go to aamco but if you want quality, friendly, experienced service you won't go wrong here. Everything was explained to me in terms I could understand and was kept informed of the work and problems during the process. Office staff is very friendly and

First of all, I would like to state that American was the only service provider that would even attempt to install this in the time frame I needed that work done in. I will commend them for that only... Here's the rest: When I was called, I went and picked up the vehicle. He showed me what he had done for $200.: 1) He did not integrate the new cooler in series with the existing factory one. In essence, this was the only cooler now. 2) There was no phone call to receive my permission to deviate from the original plan. 3) No inline filter was installed. No phone call. 4) :Later that day I found transmission fluid on my garage floor. 5) Subsequent inspection found the cooler installed at an angle in the right lower corner of the AC Condenser. Installation in this position prevented the need to remove the front fascia of the vehicle, which is required to do the job properly. 6) Further inspection showed the 2 hose clamps used to affix the tubing to the fitting were rubbing directly on the AC Condenser cores, in essence an accident waiting to happen. It was at this point that I realized I could not trust
Hernando Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
to do the work correctly. First impressions can sometimes be very powerful. I really felt they just performed a job to install the new cooler, as I did request, within a specific time frame, which I did request, but fully ignored any and all technical details and good practices just to make $200 quickly. 7) I went to a local Ford Service Department the next morning asking them to fix the leak and reinstall the new cooler correctly. They refused to touch American's work but would stop the leak by wrapping a piece of rubber tubing around the area in question and holding it in place with tie-wraps.. The cost of this "service": $209. Total for service to date: $409! 8) The goal of adding the new cooler to the system was to realize a reduction of transmission fluid temperature. This leads to longer transmission life and, as I pull an ultralite travel trailer, it's a necessity. 9) That Friday we did take the trailer out for a weekend camping excursion in Southern Indiana. My worst fears were realized when I started seeing temperatures of 215 to 220 degrees for sustained periods, with a high of 228 degrees. This is bad as transmission fluid starts to break down at these temperatures, leading to increased wear. 10) I called a friend in Michigan, who is an automotive expert. We drove to his house, where we again experienced elevated temperatures in the 215 to 220 range. 11) We removed the front fascia and removed the new cooler. It was then realized that
Hernando Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
had tried to mate .5" transmission lines on a .375" barbed fittings and use 2 hose clamps on each fitting and tighten as much as possible to seal the leak! This is in no way an appropriate fix for any technical professional to even attempt. Right off the bat he should have made the call to me, described the issue at hand and aborted the installation. He did not... 12) We then went out and acquired the correct .5" to .375" barbed fittings, some additional .5" transmission hose to ensure smooth bends in the routing then proceeded to remount the cooler in an appropriate physical location and inline with the existing factory cooler. 13) We now see temperatures no higher than 195 degrees under load pulling the trailer up the worst hills! This is what we desired from the beginning. 14) Unfortunately, the Ford Service Department saw what had been done to the vehicle, for which I have purchased their best extended warranty plan.
Hernando Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
's technical neglect and poor work could end up affecting this warranty of my vehicle. I am sad this has happened but a good friend in Michigan came to the rescue... 15) I will also state I went to the dealer service department with the first request to install an additional cooler but was turned down. This

me to seek other alternatives...
