Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
is very nice and met with me prior to starting the project to give my ideas and suggestions. He did 4 different drawings for me to choose from, all with variations of options we had discussed.
We had some communication issues when I asked for a written contract-- timeliness of responses. I got the impression
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
had been flooded with appointments for quotes, in part because of his great reviews on Angie's List. Once we got a contract completed, I mailed
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
a check for 50% deposit. I waited a bit to learn when the project would start. Then, suddenly I got an e-mail leading up to
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
4 weekend saying "we'll be at your house on
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
8th". They came to demolish the old deck. When they did, the sump pump discharge pipe became unhooked. I wasn't home, so I don't know if this resulted from the condition of how the pipe was installed, or something they did. I do give
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
credit for notifying me promptly, but this resulted in a ~$500 plumber's trip I didn't expect.
Construction continued and was completed then end of
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
. The new deck and porch look great, and the construction job is solid. They cleaned up after themselves in a timely and thorough manner.
My main issue with the project was the subcontractor
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
used to do roofing and siding. This man,
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, parked his truck blocking my driveway when I drove up at 7p on a Friday night. He proceeded to hammer and talk on the phone until nearly 9P-- needless to say, my neighbors nor I had a peaceful Friday evening. I wish I could say this was the last evening
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
disturbed for me, but there were several more.
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
' lack of professionalism was topped off when he brought his young son onto my construction site, and didn't seem to understand why I had a problem with it (it's called personal liability if the kid got hurt on my property...he didn't strike me as someone with the best, if any liability insurance). If you're considering hiring
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, please make sure he's found a new roofing/siding subcontractor. You do not want
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
on your project. FYI-- this guy
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
rang my doorbell after 9p last week and is now trying to start his own landscaping / construction business. Needless to say, that newly printed business card went into the trash.

is going behind your back. don't use him anymore.

Everything went well. The 3 person crew arrived at around 8:15 AM & were done by 2:30 PM. They also cleaned up & hauled away the debris.
The only hiccup was that due to the amount of other jobs that they had, there was a 10 week lead time between when I signed the contract & when the work was performed, but
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
had advised me of that when he can by & did the estimate, so I had signed the contract with that knowledge. The 10 week lead time put the date right in the middle of my 2 two week vacation period, so it really closer to 14 weeks between when I signed the contract & when the work was done.
If I had wanted the deck to be done for the summer season, I realize now that I should of had the estimate done & signed the contract in the middle of last winter instead of waiting until mid-May to get the estimate.
I am very pleased with the final outcome, I just have to wait a month or so before I can stain the wood, as it is still green.

We met
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
at the Cleveland Home Show in February 2014. We met with him after the show and visited another sunroom he had built for a different customer. Everything looked positive, so we signed a contract for him to build a sunroom addition to the south end of our house. It took a while to get started because of other work and tough rainy conditions in cleveland area this spring (2014).
However, once things got started, they moved really fast! This is a family operated business, and they are truly perfectionists.
They are honest, and when they say they will do something, it's going to happen. One thing that surprised me is how many subcontractors they used, at least 15 different subcontractors. However, this did not seem to slow the job down.
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
tells me he can actually do better and lower cost jobs by relying on the best contractors in each line of business. The subcontractors included: excavation with backhoe, concrete porter (moving concrete from truck to site), electrical, roofing, drywall, drywall finishing, siding, gutter installation, heating and cooling, oak trim installation, and more that I cannot remember.
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
seemed to be constantly on the phone with all his subcontractors to make sure the job did not get slowed down by anyone.
Pricing was good. $40,000 for a 20 x 16 sunroom, or about $1,250 per sq. ft. I imagine you might be able to find cheaper work somewhere, but you would be hard pressed to find better work anywhere. My philosophy is that if it is becoming a part of my house, I want the work done right, not cheap.
We held the price down a little by laying our own floor for about $900 instead of around $3,700 and our own painting and oak trim varnishing for about $100 for materials instead of about $1,500 for professional painters. Those were pretty
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
jobs that we knew how to do, and we had the time, so it was no problem with
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
to allow us to do it. We could have done the roofing, but the professional roofer quoted such a low price that we could have saved only about $300, and I did not think the savings was worth the effort.
Final comment, you won't find a better, more honest, more reliable builder than
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
. We recommend him 100 percent. He is a perfectionist and the sort of guy you want doing stuff around your house.

We called Atlantic for an estimate in early March, and a representative came out within days to discuss what we wanted to do.
At the beginning there was a fairly serious misunderstanding regarding preservation of existing plantings around the old deck, but in my view the contractor behaved responsibly. Atlantic welcomed my input in the design stage, and I'm very happy with the final product. The workmanship was very good and the cofmpany president was my point of contact and the one providing the final inspection. I would definitely use this contractor again.

Removed existing front stairs, siding . Cut the slab to dig footings which required inspection from Building Inspector. Installed 13x6 front porch, 5 foot staircase, lattice. All old material was removed and disposed of and area was prepped for building.
Removed existing16x10 back deck and stairs. Had to remove siding due to rotted boards holding up the old deck. Replaced boards. All old material was removed and disposed of and area was prepped for building. 3 new footings were poured. Installed new decking. Fabricated and installed 13 foot staircase to grade. Installed new posts and railings, installed new girder, 4 new 4x4 supports. Installed new lattice with entry door.
The new front porch and back deck are beautiful and well constructed.

We found
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
(SC) through a referral from a former neighbor who was quite happy from a similar project as well as from using Angie's List. We went through a careful selection process involving four vendors which included pricing proposals, drawings and observing pictures of previously completed jobs. SC was selected due to the best combination of pricing, quality, and recommendations.
The project began with an attempt to screen in an existing deck on the side of the house that bordered a creek. We had the plans all done and the contract executed but the project got halted because of some zoning issues surrounding the proximity to a waterway. The owner of SC who we had not previously met came by to personally go over our options. We decided to move the project to a different location on the other side of the house which was a bit smaller but provided for better roofing options and overall usage. We asked for
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
who had performed the work at the residence that had referred us to SC and he did a great job! He was very thorough and paid attention to detail, and cleaned up every evening before he left. The project overall took three weeks. We are still waiting for the stain to dry on the
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
and groove floors but are excited to use it for the balance of the summer. I would highly recommend this combination for anyone looking for a screened in porch project. What made SC standout the most was their service which included working through minor modifications to the original contract and decisions that needed to be made along the way.

They were quite patient and gracious with us and our multitude of questions prior to the work.
I was impressed that the rep. explained that they painted the wood prior to nailing it together to protect the wood better.
The foreman or owner was very kind to our elderly mother for whom the work was done.
They offered a senior discount....More /> The workers came early or on time and were considerate of our wishes.
They made sure they communicated sufficiently with the boss prior to starting the work;
especially regarding matching the preexisting paint color.
We are planning to hire them again.

We had a small 2nd floor deck off our kitchen that was getting worn and was really too small for our family
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
was the second contractor we contacted. The job involved removing the old deck and replacing with one almost double the square footage.
His price was very competitive on a per square foot basis especially when his bid included Trex deck and railings. I volunteered to handle the permits with our
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
and the City of Mill Creek.
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
was always prompt and did everything he said he would do when he said it would be done. Whether it was making an appointment to bid the job, deliver a contract or start the job, he was always on time.
The job was completed in about 8 business days and the quality of the workmanship is first rate. The fit and finish is first rate; all the corners are mitered, there are no exposed end grain, everything is straight, square and plumb. My back yard and access is pretty small but even with taking down the old deck and building the new one, the work area was always kept neat and tidy at the end of the day.
Aberdeen Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
's service was first rate, his price is fair and the quality of the work was top notch. The job was on time and on budget, no surprises and passed inspection the first time. This is the guy you want to work with. He will be the first contractor we call when we start remodeling.
