Mover Articles

How to choose the right moving services

A simple move is the most commonly requested moving service and requires the consumer to pack and box their belongings while the moving company handles the loading and unloading duties, Lallouz says. (Photo courtesy of Dry Ridge Moving)

As the moving industry expands, there are now more choices than ever to help fit the exact needs of your move. Learn how to pick the right service.

5 tips on getting a great moving service rate

The cost of your move also depends on what level of service you require. A full-service move has the company taking care of every step - from packing to loading to driving to unpacking - but comes with a significant cost. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Samantha P.)

Moving is a stressful process, made more so by the wide variation in moving companies and their ability. Here are five tips to help keep your property safe and get a great moving service rate.

Important questions to ask before hiring a moving company

Ask about hidden costs. A company should be able to provide you with a list of fees you could be charged, such as moving large items or traversing stairs. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Jim R. of Travelers Rest S.C.)

Dear Angie: What questions should I ask a mover?
Dear Eric: Who you hire to move your personal belongings is a big decision. As with most services, there are scams associated with rogue moving companies.

Moving? Avoid these 3 hidden fees

If you're moving, don't get stuck with hidden fees you didn't anticipate. Moving companies can hit you with fuel costs, trip charges and equipment fees for things like dollies, blankets, cords and straps.
