"Purchased the coupon for discounted service. I don't know if I would do that again because you don't have a pre-existing estimate from the company. The" company service was outstanding. Prompt, courteous, thorough. They trimmed to exactly how I wanted it. I would strongly recommend them to a friend but would skip the coupon.

-John B.

"Everything went well. They were able to meet me at a time that fit my schedule to go over the services I needed done. The services were done in the time period" given without mess. The estimate for the services was competitive.

4 Situations Where You Need a Professional Tree Trimmer

Not sure if you should trim your own trees? Sometimes your tree problem is best left to a pro whose is trained in maintenance and other complex issues.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

Unless the contract stated they were to remove the neighbor's portion at the neighbor's expense it's your bill.  You simply stated they were to remove the portion on the neighbor's side also, not who would pay for it by what I'm reading, even if that was your intention.

Another route to take:  Technically you should be able to file a claim with your neighbor's insurance for the damage done by the tree and possibly for the removal of the tree including the portion not affecting you.  They may deny the second part but if they pay for damages in addition to the coverage by your insurance you've been reimbursed.  Don't take more than the $650 and keep all records so you aren't accused of insurance fraud.  Unless the bill was broken into 2 parts stating which amount was for the removal on your side and which side was theirs their insurance probably won't argue much about only paying part of the bill.  Talk to your agent about how to best approach this.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Joplin

I live in florida and I own 2 rentals in lake county. They removed 1 tree at each property, and did an excellent quick and efficient job. Both of my tenants said the crew was very professional and did a really good clean up! Will use again!

Everything went well. Work was started promptly in the morning and they were finished by Noon. It took a while to get in contact with them, however, Angie's List staff helped with that.

came over and trimmed the trees that afternoon. Did a great job cleaning up. When the renter saw the job

to trim the tree on a yearly basis. But, after talking with him, it makes more sense to trim the trees every 5 - 6 months to keep the pool sparkling clean. So, that's what we'll be doing from this point forward.

They arrived on time and were true professionals. Some of the trees were quite tall, and it was great to be able to trust them to perform the needed processes. They did have to return to cut a few branches in another area, and that went well too.
- Mary M.

arrived promptly; did a remarkable job dropping the trees and limbs in a very small area in the back yard due to nearby landscaping and pool; clean up was perfect. They raked up every leaf and all of the debris, then blew off the concrete driveway and pool deck. In addition to my own observation, a carpenter working on my house at the time who saw all the limbs, leaves, and trunks in the yard, made a point to bring up to me later what an impressive clean up job they did. Strongly recommend.

They were prompt and courteous. They were much more cost effective than providers I had used before. I love the way my yard looks now. I highly recommend them.

Was quite baffled by

. I hope People will take heed to our review....We aren't big fans of writing negative reviews; we try to be friendly and

about things, but feel our perspective & experience with this Company may be helpful to some who are looking for a reliable Arborist or general Tree Service. It appears that Rich has been in Business since 1989, which can often show consitency & longevity, BUT it can also cause some Companies (and their Employees) to become jaded, rigid, and over confident. If you don't like working with People, and you don't like your line of Business enough to accomodate your Customers, why are you still working in this line of Business?? :-\ The Employee who gave us the Cost Estimate was knowledgeable and accommodating. We talked over the various things we wanted done, etc., and it went fine. The Estimator said our job would take approximately 3 hours. The estimate seemed a little steep for only three hours work, but we decided to go with the flow. We scheduled an appointment to have the agreed upon services performed on a certain date and time frame. We had to schedule out our service about 4 weeks, because they said their crew(s) schedules were full, due to a busy season?! Seemed a bit much, but again, we went with the flow. When we made the appointment they gave us a couple of options...Morning, which was 8AM to Noon; or Afternoon, which was Noon to 4/5PM. We explained that we required Afternoon due to our schedules. We were very careful when scheduling this appointment so that there would not be any issues, especially since we already had to wait 4 weeks for their services. We let them know that we would not be available to answer the door or assit them before Noon. We also asked if they would call us and let us know when they were on their way to our Home. They said they would do that. Both of those requests are reasonable for any Business who actually cares about their Customers...no matter how busy they may be. In reality, that is how professionals should operate...keep to the date and time frame you have committed to. They had left us a voicemail message at 8AM in the morning stating that they would be at our Residence that Afternoon as scheduled. We assumed they would come within the time frame agreed upon. Unfortunately, the crew showed up around an hour and fifteen minutes early because they finished their previous job ahead of schedule. We did not receive any phone call letting us know that they were on their way earlier than scheduled?? We were not ready for them, or able to answer the door to assit them because they arrived outside of the agreed window of time, and they did not call us before hand. We needed to be available for them when they came so we could go over some of the details of the Tree trimming (per the Estimators suggestions) and to give them access to some of the things we needed trimmed. This is a Residence, not an open Park. We needed to meet with them to go over the specifics. We contacted their Admin Office, and the Scheduler was amazingly rude!!! As stated above, we try to go with the flow, but were very frustrated at her arrogance. It was bizarre??!?! Somehow WE were suppose to feel guilty for not being available even though it was their Company that would not keep their commitment as agreed upon!?!? Bare in mind, we didn't set those Afternoon hours with their Company on a whim. We knew what would and would not work for our schedule ahead of time, so we planned with them accordingly. When making the original appointment, never did they say that coming within our scheduled window of time would be a problem, or that giving us a brief heads up via a phone call would be an issue. The Scheduler contacted the crew that had showed up early, and they (and she) were not willing to go to their next job and come back to our Home in the Afternoon time frame. Even if the next job was a good distance away, they should have been more willing to help us since this inconvenience was caused by them. She and the other

on the phone, kept stating that the time frame given was merely an "estimate". Yes, but the time frame estimate was originally acknowledge to be within the Afternoon window, not overlapping so extensively with the Morning time frame. don't make Morning or Afternoon 'estimates' if your crews won't keep them for the Customers!! The crew chose to simply leave our Residents without accommodating us in any way. If we didn't need the work done, we would not have called the Company for a Cost Estimate....If we didn't need an appointment with the Afternoon time window, then we would have let them know that any time would be okay to arrive. The Scheduler was quite hostile, so we asked to talk with Rich himself, but he was out giving Cost Estimates all day. The Companies reaction and lack of care was astounding!! No matter how many so-called (A) or Five Star ratings these Tree Service crews may get for their actual Tree Trimming & Arborist 'skills', it does NOT address a larger issue with
Joplin Tree Services Provider Name Locked
...THEY don't REALLY 'NEED' YOUR OR OUR BUSINESS. This isn't just about scheduling conflicts, this is about an underlying issue with the Company regarding Customer Service, attitude, cockiness, and arrogance...likely why they only have three and a half Stars on 'Yelp', as well. The Owner, Rich, should definitely consider changing some of his Customer Service policies, and hire Employees that actually like dealing with the Public, enjoy their job, and are more professional. Why would we or anyone want to support any Company that is 'so busy' with such a poor attitude-that couldn't care less whether they serve you or not? You are just one of the many, and they'll merely move on to the next. If they have a conveyor belt for their Customers, then the smart ones should get off and move on to the plethora of other reputable Tree Service Companies that would sincerely appreciate your/our Business and try to professionally accommodate us. In the end, all Companies

what they
Joplin Tree Services Provider Name Locked
. If a Business (new or old) truly needs your money, they will be friendly and professional, both in the Admin Office, and out among the crew members. This was a shockingly hostile, strange, and rude experience for us. We have been honest and forthright in our review. Any reply from the Owner or a Company Rep that says otherwise is untruthful. The Company has no valid excuse for treating us so poorly. Sadly, many established Businesses find it difficult to own up to their mistakes, failings, and errors...and never seem to learn that an apology and conveying themselves with integrity, can go a very long way in helping their overall reputation.

Excellent team. They worked hard. My yard was extremely clean when they were done! They were very professional and completed the job in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend!
