Independence Door Installers Reviews
The cost for the door and installation was less than the cost of just the door at Lowe's and other comparable retailers. On the day the door was to be installed they called when they were about 15 minutes away and showed up before their scheduled time. The installer was quick andcurteous and did a good job of handling a nosy neighbor without letting it slow him down. He also answered any question s I had and made sure to remove the old door without damaging it so that I could resell it.
Overall I am very pleased with thier service and highly recommend them!
Only problem we ran into was with the cabinets. He ran out of time when we installing the hardware. He told us what type of screw to buy. Went and bought the screws. Long story short, his holes we just a hair off. GOOD NEWS--he came back the next day and fixed them no problem."
Upon our return it was immediately evident that there was quite a bit that was left undone. It almost seemed impossible to check everything. I began in my office and the back of the house. I called
It was then that I went into the kitchen for the first time. I cannot begin to describe how I felt when I saw the condition in which it had been left. I immediately got my camera and began taking pictures. A chemical residue was everywhere, on the countertops, in the oven, in the oven drawer, all over our pots and pans, on the floor, on the drawers and woodwork. It looked like a flour bomb had gone off.
My husband and I did a complete walk through. I found my Guardian Garden Angel that sat with my plants in the sunroom had been broken. The window treatment cords (I will never know how or why they did this) were tangled unbelievably. It took my husband one and a half hours to untangle them. The groves of the sliding patio doors (which constituted three walls) had not been "steam cleaned" as the video on Angie's List indicated. Areas of the floor had not even been mopped and/or dusted. This pattern of unfinished, incomplete or unattempted cleaning continued throughout the house. I took over 50 pictures as proof. They have been posted on fb with this information.
Earlier I had attempted to stop payment on the check only to find that
As far as her 100% guarantee - I would say we barely got 50%. We are considering hiring an attorney. I would bet you dollars to donuts she doesn't have insurance.
I am afraid to use Angie's List again.

As we were going out through the garage, they stopped and then said I would need my garage door opener replaced since it was "wearing out". They gave me an estimate on that work on the spot. They also put a sticker on the inside of my garage door with the company logo and numbers to call. I did not ask for that. I thought that was pretty bold on their part to put advertising and contact info on my house. I had the info on their estimate sheet if I needed it.
For just nailing up a board across the inside of my front door they charged me over $100. Plus they used my own board. I will never call them and I have since taken down the sticker.
The appointment was made for a few days later. They came early and did a good job. I feel like a lot of air was getting in through the doors and windows. They put in new weather stripping and did some caulking. I was very pleased with the work.
My only concern was that he did not come with the supplies the man on the first visit talked about. He had to go to the store then come back to do the work. This took over an hour of the time alotted.
