Door Installation Reviews in Independence

installed two new insulated garage doors along with rails and springs. He does an excellent job. He has done other jobs for me on houses that I have had listed for sale and has always been very professional and reasonable.

was a little early, gave me a business card right away. He came in and we reviewed all the items I had on my list. I had purchased his 3-hrs for $79 special and had a list that I didn't think we'd get through, but he ended up finishing them all with time to spare. Since he was so efficient, I didn't mind his not using the whole 3 hours! He was tidy, friendly, professional and patient when my dog offered to "help".
also gave me what I consider to be a good estimate for some work that I'd like to do in the future.

Independence Door Installers Provider Name Locked
is a very experienced, well equipped, and professional contractor. He showed up on time every day and accomplished a lot each day. He communicated very well with us and was flexible with all changes we wished to make. All problems were corrected. He arranged for the dumpster and hauled away all debris, cleaned up after himself everyday, and hung tarps to minimize dust in the rest of the house. He allowed us to help with the project to keep costs down and speed up progress.

I called and talked to

giving information my son-in-law had told me about the problem.

then called him to set a time to go over to look at the garage door and patio door. He sent serviceman over who specialized in patio doors but also knows garage doors, so all was taken care of in one visit.

They did a great job!
Independence Door Installers Provider Name Locked
came out for a quote and was honest about what services I did and did not need. He even gave me a tip to sell my old door and craigslist and helped me save money!
The cost for the door and installation was less than the cost of just the door at Lowe's and other comparable retailers. On the day the door was to be installed they called when they were about 15 minutes away and showed up before their scheduled time. The installer was quick andcurteous and did a good job of handling a nosy neighbor without letting it slow him down. He also answered any question s I had and made sure to remove the old door without damaging it so that I could resell it.
Overall I am very pleased with thier service and highly recommend them!

They arrived at the scheduled time and did an awesome job installing our windows and doors. They were professional and cleaned everything up when finished. We have had them back out to replace more windows and have been equally pleased. We will use them in the future for more window installation and possible other work.

We got the $111.00 for 4 hours of handyman service. Overall, it went well. We worked with

, who was very knowledgeable, professional, and got the job done.
Only problem we ran into was with the cabinets. He ran out of time when we installing the hardware. He told us what type of screw to buy. Went and bought the screws. Long story short, his holes we just a hair off. GOOD NEWS--he came back the next day and fixed them no problem.

It was a disaster. A crew of 5 arrived promptly at 7:30. The job was to be completed by 11:30. Between the 5 crew members and all of their equipment there was hardly room to move around. It immediately looked like a Chinese fire drill. Everybody moving in a different direction, getting in each other's way, chaos. My husband, daughter and I left and were told to return at 11:30. We returned at 11:30 but were told the work was not completed and to allow another hour and a half. We left and returned at 1:00. Again we were told they were not ready. I did a cursory look around (there was so much disarray between their equipment and our furniture that it was difficult to determine what had been done) and explained we had an afternoon appointment. Because of the repeated delays I went ahead and wrote a check for the full amount with the agreement I would be in touch with

when we returned to go over everything at that time.
Upon our return it was immediately evident that there was quite a bit that was left undone. It almost seemed impossible to check everything. I began in my office and the back of the house. I called

and explained we were very dissatisfied. The office had not even been touched. Nothing had been dusted, the floor was filthy, the windows were untouched. She agreed to return at that time.

and one of her crew members arrived approximately 30 minutes later. She agreed the office had not been cleaned, apologized and said she would have her crew return the next morning. We had appointments the next day so we agreed upon Thursday morning.

and her crew member left.
It was then that I went into the kitchen for the first time. I cannot begin to describe how I felt when I saw the condition in which it had been left. I immediately got my camera and began taking pictures. A chemical residue was everywhere, on the countertops, in the oven, in the oven drawer, all over our pots and pans, on the floor, on the drawers and woodwork. It looked like a flour bomb had gone off.
My husband and I did a complete walk through. I found my Guardian Garden Angel that sat with my plants in the sunroom had been broken. The window treatment cords (I will never know how or why they did this) were tangled unbelievably. It took my husband one and a half hours to untangle them. The groves of the sliding patio doors (which constituted three walls) had not been "steam cleaned" as the video on Angie's List indicated. Areas of the floor had not even been mopped and/or dusted. This pattern of unfinished, incomplete or unattempted cleaning continued throughout the house. I took over 50 pictures as proof. They have been posted on fb with this information.
Earlier I had attempted to stop payment on the check only to find that

had immediately gone to the bank and cashed the check. We didn't have to ask ourselves why she did that. I called
Independence Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and expalined we did not want her work crew to ever return to our house. I also asked for a refund which she promptly refused. She explained that she provides a 100% guarantee and had offered for the crew to come back. We eventually reached an agreement that she alone would return on Friday morning to clean up the messes.

arrived a little late on Friday morning and spent over four hours here. Before she left she came to my office and apologized profusely. She said she was embarrassed and had no idea so much had not been done. She also said she understood why we were dissatisfied. At one time she had tried to minimize the situation saying that a spot here and a spot there were bound to happen now and then. She continued to say that when she returned to her "office" she was going to cover this with her employees. She said she was so dissappointed because this crew was her most seasoned and experienced people. That's scary.

and I did another walk through. We were just devastated to see that there was still a lot of work that hadn't been done. Lights in the bathroom have never been touched. The sliding shower doors needed to be cleaned, floors still needed to be cleaned. I spent today (Saturday) cleaning the kitchen of the lingering chemical residue; washing all the pots and pans that had been in the oven door and everything that had been sitting out on the counters; dusting my office, all the pictures in the house (not one had been dusted) while my husband cleaned the floors throughout the house and there are still windows that were never touched, etc.
As far as her 100% guarantee - I would say we barely got 50%. We are considering hiring an attorney. I would bet you dollars to donuts she doesn't have insurance.
I am afraid to use Angie's List again.

I called the company to see if they installed or repaired door jambs or replaced front doors and they said that they did that type of service. I needed my front door jamb fixed since it had just been damaged from a robbery a day earlier. The two guys that came out were very nice and were professional. They did show me that I needed more than the jamb repaired. I would need a new front door since it was actually split on the side where it was kicked in. I asked if the company supplied front doors and they said it did and he took measurements. One of the two called someone named "Nick" and told him what was needed. The other guy actually took a picture of the door to send to Nick. From my end, it sounded like Nick wasn't sure that they could do that work. When the guy was done talking with him, he told me that Nick would call me the next day to give me an estimate. Nick never called me and the company has never called me to follow up either.
As we were going out through the garage, they stopped and then said I would need my garage door opener replaced since it was "wearing out". They gave me an estimate on that work on the spot. They also put a sticker on the inside of my garage door with the company logo and numbers to call. I did not ask for that. I thought that was pretty bold on their part to put advertising and contact info on my house. I had the info on their estimate sheet if I needed it.
For just nailing up a board across the inside of my front door they charged me over $100. Plus they used my own board. I will never call them and I have since taken down the sticker.

The first visit was to talk about the work needed to be done. He checked to see what supplies would be needed. I was given the choice to get my own supplies or have them bring them. I wanted them to get what was needed. He said they carried alot of supplies on their truck.
The appointment was made for a few days later. They came early and did a good job. I feel like a lot of air was getting in through the doors and windows. They put in new weather stripping and did some caulking. I was very pleased with the work.
My only concern was that he did not come with the supplies the man on the first visit talked about. He had to go to the store then come back to do the work. This took over an hour of the time alotted.
