"An heirloom though not very expensive, three diamonds were purchase by my grandfather, then made into a ring by my father over half a century ago. I'll always recall my dad wearing" it before giving it to me. However a month ago, the ring fell on hard ceramic tile, and a piece chipped out of one of the diamonds. Through the web, I research jewelry repair shops. Seemed
was tops. Sure enough, they were very kind and very reasonable. I was surprised not only be how great the replacement diamond looked, but the whole polished ring! There was some very slight confusion over taxes, but
was extremely professional working this out; the manner in which he handled this helps ensure my future business!

"Around the 3 week period after dropping off the watches, I checked to see the status, no work had been performed on the watches, but I was told that it would be closer to the 6 week" period quoted, I told them no problem. About the 5 week period, I called and checked on the watches, and was told that I was "next in the que"...and they would be getting to them the very next week, again, I told them no problem. However, I was concerned in that I was told that the "broken" watch might need a part, when I initially dropped it off. Thus, if they hadn't even looked at the watch, then they look at it at the 6 week
, then I'm told they might need parts... it could put me past the 6 week quote while they waited on parts. Kind of goofy that they don't even look at the watch to inventory what parts they might need and get them placed on order. I called on Tuesday, 9/23/14. I was then told their horologist had taken ill, and hadn't even touched the watches. I asked them if they were ever going to call me and the receptionist said "sorry". I told them if they couldn't get it repaired by the following Friday (9/26) then don't touch it, I'd pick them up. I called the morning of 9/26 and they again stated that the watches hadn't even been touched, so now it's EIGHT (8) Weeks....and the watches hadn't even been touched. No call (like the receptionist promised to do, the Tuesday prior), so I told the
I'd be in that afternoon to pick them up, the
said, "Fine." I arrived at the store around 12:30 and the girl I spoke to on the Tuesday prior waited on me. I told her I was there to pick up the watches. She looked puzzled and clueless, even when I reminded her that I had spoken to her the Tuesday prior...and reminded her she had promised to call me with a status...then she said, "Oh yea, sorry, I forgot." She went in the back for a few moments, then came out as I hear pounding in the back, and she said,"Oh, they're re-assembling your watch." I said, "Really, I was told they hadn't been touched." She said, "well they did take them apart to look at them. Now, I'm a bit upset because I hadn't been told a straight piece of info for 8 weeks, just misrepresentations. I didn't yell, but I was assertive and firmly stated, "I told you and I told a
this morning that I was going to pick them up today, and now they're putting them back together, this is just plain WRONG." Well, the owner heard me and came out finally, and asked me to keep my voice down, I told him I wasn't yelling, but he said, "you have your voice raised because I can hear you in back (about 10' away)" Here's the crux, the owner didn't want to try to understand my frustration at having been lied to, he wanted me to respect the quiet environment of his store. He made it a point to state that his horologist had taken ill....okay, things like that happen. However, the level of respect he was expecting from me toward them was markedly absent in that he and his staff couldn't take a step back and look at the disrespect they had been showing toward me and my time. I call it "institutional arrogance." For example, it didn't even occur to them, that at the 6 week
, when their horologist had taken ill, they could've called me and said something to the effect of "Sir, our technician had taken ill, we gave you a quote of 2 -6 weeks, we're not going to make that, so we wanted to show our customer some respect and afford you the opportunity to take your watches to another business." Nope not a peep from them. They wanted to keep me in the dark and still try to keep my business. For a quote of $450....a $.25 phone call would not have been unreasonable. I can honestly say, had they made that
phone call and kept me in the loop, I would've kept my business with them and waited another 3-4 weeks. However, I will not do business with a company that will not meet me on an equal footing of business and customer.
is the epitome of what is going wrong with small businesses today.....no respect for the customer. I don't want the owner to kiss my backside, just treat me with the same respect he wants to be treated with. Would he like to wait 8 weeks for payment of his services rendered? Instead, I've lost 8 weeks of having the opportunity to go to another business, how do I get that time back? My recommendation, there are many watch repair services on the internet with great reviews....they're set up for you to ship the watch, they'll insure the watch and give you a quote on the phone and they have great guarantees. Imagine if I had used
and the watch malfunctioned, I supposed I'd have to wait another 8 weeks with lots of excuses. As a 22 year retired Marine Officer, I never made excuses,
got sick, injured and even killed.... I learned and it was expected of me to always have a back-up plan. This guy had none.

"I asked for a gasket replaced on a watch. They were slow taking my order; it was a couple years ago now; and, as I recall the help made me come back another day when the owner would" be in. The owner wasn't in - it was around and around. Then the work got done, and low and behold the seal immediately failed so the work was poorly done. Other than a battery change, I'd suggest going somewhere else for seriously fixing watches.
is great for high-end watch repairs.

Watch Repair reviews in Florissant

Took time to explain exactly how the watch worked, what work needed to be done and why. Very professional and knowledgable. Work was completed by date given. Very pleased with this vendor.

My husband brought his watch and saw that the owner had many years of experience. The owner explained that he sends the watches out for repairs ... to an expert watch repair person. The watch was all ready a little sooner than expected. So far ... The watch is running perfectly. We would definitely return to

Went to another jewelry store in area to have battery replaced. After battery replacement watch still did not work. Other store wanted $75.00 to send watch out to have it repaired. I picked the watch up and took the watch to

. He looked at it while I waited. He said that the other jewelry store actually damaged the watch when they replaced the battery. He repaired the small wire that was bent and replaced the battery for $10.00. Watch now works. Awesome service - honest! Will always take my watches and clocks here.

He took the parts back to his shop and cleaned everything and repaired what was broken. They are both very knowledgeable about what they do and very friendly. They explained to me what they did and how to best keep my clock running correctly. I have had to call them several times as I am having trouble with it keeping the right time, however the clock is over a hundred years old so I know it will never be perfect. They have no problem telling me what to try to adjust it and even offered to return to my home. They do guarantee their work and will do whatever is necessary to make sure you are happy. I would definitely trust them and refer them to anyone and everyone. They also took an old mantle clock that I have that is very old back to their shop to repair but when they returned it to me they told me no charge because they could not guarantee the work because the parts were too worn so they are looking for parts for it. How much more could I ask for?? I am very happy with them.

I purchased two clocks & had them clean a couple watches. I like to buy local, could have bought the clocks cheaper online. They attempted to an old ladies

Friendly and down to earth, with prompt service. A couple of months later, for $20 they prepared an estimated value for our insurance company when husband's ring was stolen (based on inspection of wife's matching ring).
