"Eighteen months ago we began shopping at consignment shops throughout the San
area to find old good quality and/or antique furniture for" our home that we just moved into as new city residents. It wasn't long before we found the
in the Mission Hills district. We have been shopping at
for a year now; it has become the only consignment establishment we shop at in the San
area. No other consignment shop compares to
; in quality, price, cleanliness, and variety of "good" items offered.
's prices are very reasonable. They say that "One man's junk is another man's treasure." The only difference is that at the
there is no junk! The house is filled with good quality items from the smallest item to the large pieces of furniture. If
doesn't have what you're looking for; just wait, they eventually will. We have been looking for an all white sofa. It finally arrived at
and we snatched it up quickly. All items at
are priced to sell. If you find an item you like but want to think about it before buying, don't think too long because it will be gone before you know it. In the last 18 months, we have furnished an entire guest bedroom and have purchased several pieces throughout our home whether our needs are inside or outside the house. In addition,
has access to an excellent moving company. CR Hauling has very affordable rates and handles your items with great care! You won't be disappointed at the

"They were incredibly easy to work with, and everything was stunning. They collaborated with me throughout the whole process, and my designer was also incredibly" pleased with what they did for me. They did a beautiful job, and everything matched perfectly. They're now the new accent pieces for my living room! The pride they take in their craftsmanship really shines through!

Hi, benterrific.

Keep checking around at the auction houses and antique dealers. There are a few in your area that are highly rated. The bigger auction houses should have qualified appraisers. You might also check with your local art museum or fine art gallery. Just like we recommend for big home repair projects, shop around to get the best price.

I found out the hard way in the military that it depends on the product. Some silver polishes will turn brass and copper black with instant tarnish and etch them, so check the label. Some types can be used for any soft metal, some not. I suspect it depends on the pH of the product, or whether it has aommonia in it. And of course if you do decide to try it, do the center bottom (where it sits on the table) first so you can see if it is causing problems.

Brasso is probably the top name in the industry - they make both liquid and treated cloth polishing products both for specific metals, and general polishing ones.

I would ask local antique shops and art stores (ones selling art and frames, not galleries) if they repair antiques, AND for references, so the repair does not decrease its value unecessarily. In many cases the old frame is worth more than the painting !

You could also ask local art museums who they use to repair/rehab frames, if they do not do it themselves.

The furniture needing
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
had been badly damaged due to its age and neglect. We didn't even know if it could be refinished to its original beauty. It was a special family piece.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
assured us it could be restored and look as good as it did in the 1950s.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
picked up all the furniture and delivered it after it was all finished a few weeks later. I was truly speechless! The table and buffet were even more beautiful than I could have hoped for. There is not a blemish on them and the finish looks so perfect and original.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
even removed a 60 year old cigarette burn! We are so happy we trusted
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
's expertise with our treasured furniture. We highly recommend
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
.

They did an excellent job restoring them. I can't even tell where the pieces were repaired. I plan on using them again soon. The price is very reasonable and accurate. I am very happy with their services.

Ownership is dishonest. If you have an issue with an item you will probably be brushed off. They buffed out the Japanese stamps on a Tokuriki ring which was passed down from my grandfather in Japan when trying to fix a small crack. I feel
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
really felt bad about the damage since he knew the ring had a lot of sentimental value but after speaking with
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
she simply brushed the damage off like it was nothing. She was not willing to reimburse me for the cost to have the ring sent back to the original jeweler to repair the stamp even after i showed her a before and after photo which clearly showed they completely buffed out one of logos. She instead wanted to engrave the logo herself. When I asked her if they buffed out a
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
's logo on accident would they just fix it themselves? She actually said yes. Does she even know how to write Japanese?
I would beware. I would also look at reviews for their now closed
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
Hills store which seemed to have similar issues.

I didn't do my homework and got stung. They ruined the inside of my home where the estate sale was held. The carpeting is ruined because they pulled the gas grill on the deck through the living room and out the front door, spilling grease on the LR carpet. And, none of the carpet was covered with plastic. My home is listed for sale, and now I have it shown until I get it re-carpeted. I'm too tired to
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
, but I sure would like to. Steer clear and always do you homework on these types of folks.

I found Mr.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
on Angie's List shortly after moving to the area and reached out to him to get an idea of what it might cost to repair the old solid oak roll-top desk that my father had kept in his veterinary office from the time I was a toddler until he passed away in 2002. It's a massive desk, 5 feet wide, 3 feet deep, with six drawers in the bottom section - 5 of which are nearly the depth of the desk and numerous drawers, cubbies and hidey holes in the roll-top section.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
came to my home to examine the desk and determine what needed to be done. While at my home I showed him a couple of other pieces I have - he is so knowledgeable about antiques and old furniture! I immediately knew that he was the perfect person to take care of my desk.
I was very busy throughout the Fall and then the holidays were upon us so it wasn't until the end of January or so that I arranged with
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
to have him pick up the desk and effect the repairs. He had originally estimated that it would take about 2 weeks to complete and it ended up taking 3 - but he did contact me to let me know that it was taking longer than expected as he had uncovered areas needing repairs that were not evident previously. (he made these additional repairs at no additional cost)
Finally the day came when it was time for my desk to come home! I could not believe my eyes - I cried when it was all put together again in my study. It is not a highly valuable piece in and of itself, but the sentimental value is priceless to me.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
and his team had gone above and beyond my expectations - the desk had been in pretty sad shape after years of neglect and now it is so beautiful! In addition to cleaning, repairing, and restoring they researched it and found the manufacturer, the distributor and, buried deep inside, a label with the date of completion.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
and his team seamlessly repaired areas such as the opening where Dad pushed in his chair - it was so battered the raw wood was exposed and worn away! And now - you cannot tell that any repair has been made. There are so many areas on the desk that are the same - you can't tell it was in such bad shape when it was taken away.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
is an expert in his craft and I wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone who has need of antique restoration! He wrote about my desk in his blog, here is the link to copy and paste in your browser:
http://johnmarkpower.blogspot.com/2015/02/national-oak-roll-top-desk-1917.html
This so you can see for yourself what a beautiful job he did! And he describes much more completely the details of what actually needed to be done to restore it.
I already have plans for
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
to restore the other 2 pieces I have - I know they will be spectacular too!

Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
does an excellent job of fairly and efficiently
running an estate sale. Prices are reasonable and the staff is always
friendly and ready to lend a hand. Last week I purchased a chair and
one of the staff carried it to my car.

Since Rejuvenation was bought out and started to slowly phase out everything but their reproduction items,
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
has become the place to go. Their prices are vastly better than Rejuv.
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
is knowledgeable and his growing selection has made this place a rare find. While the House of Antique Hardware is actually in
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
, you can't go there (they only sell mail order) AND they have pretty much stopped selling real antique parts and are now about 99% reproduction. This too makes
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
a rare gem and about the only place left to get all kinds of stuff needed for old houses.

Initially
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
was very helpful and professional. She and her crew worked really h****** a very short time frame. Although it was a cash only sale, she claimed she did not know what was sold each day. She did perform an excellent cleanup after the sale. She had removed some of the better antiques that my mom had to sell on consignment that I had agreed to but I was informed that she had sold them to a dealer instead. I had requested a payout of $2000 out of the funds which she granted. She told me 2 weeks after the sale that final payment would be made after 30 days of the sale. It is now
Fenton Antique Stores Provider Name Locked
16th and she rarely answers emails and does not return calls. No final payment has been issued although I received an email on 7/2 stating that it was "in the mail". She still will not provide any information on total sales amounts, documentation or the final check for funds that are due.
