On 7/14 the standard 'package' of wood and hardware for the screen porch was delivered. First mistake: Three items were missing including pickets for the stair railing. All the missing items were clearly listed on the order sheet. A call was made by the sunroom contractor and the items were delivered close to end of business. Second mistake: On 7/16 it was discovered that some wrong size boards had been included. Work was suspended waiting for them to arrive with the correct boards. The boards they sent were not as nice as the wrong ones. There was a big chunk out of one. The sunroom contractor assures me they can work with it so it's not visible. I would have made them exchange it but he said that no lumber supplier would care about the quality of the boards they deliver. It's a board, it's available, that's what they send. While their response to bring the missing items wasn't bad, considering they are 10 minutes away from the job site, the quality control at the warehouse could, in my opinion, use some serious improvement. This was my first experience with
and possibly my last. Any further work I have done, I will request that the contractor use a different supplier. According to the job site supervisor, this was the first time they had used this supplier. He, too, was not pleased with their performance.

I am very pleased. The person whom
works with for installation was always very prompt and professional. The staff at
in the Millwork area) made me feel very comfortable with my purchase decisions and installation services. He made sure that I got exactly what I wanted and always took the time to take care of any concerns that I had no matter when I came into the store. I even received a follow-up phone call after the installation was complete.

It took a while to receive and the dollar amount is not listed on the card. By the time it arrived, I had to look up what it was worth in my email history...all in all, a good deal though!

I have to give
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
a low score. I purchased carpet from them and they installed the carpet using another organization. The carpet installers arrived on time and the day they promised. . . unlike the last
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
service we used (appliance delivery). The
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
salesman told us that the installers would move up to 6 pieces of furniture for $50. We decided to pay $100 to move 12 pieces. He failed to tell us that it was PER ROOM, not per six pieces of furniture. The installers were not happy and were on the telephone with their bosses. Next, we were to remove carpet from the upstairs and we reiterated to the salesman that the installer would need to remove it from the basement. This was NOT on the work order and prompted another call from them to their boss. Moments later we received a call from a
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
manager and got everything taken care of. After the installers left, we discovered a hall closet was not done. We decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and we would just paint it. However, we had issues with a few tack strips and the installer came out 3 days later to make the adjustments. I asked him about the closet and he told me it was NOT on the work order, that is why it wasn't done. Ugh! The sales associate totally screwed things up and added to our stress. This is the second significant error made by
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
or their contractors in the last six months (carpet install and appliance delivery). The managers did step up to the plate, but if work orders cannot be done correctly and outsourced work (deliveries) can't be made on days promised, then don't.

I regret choosing
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
for my fence installation. Before I signed the contract the rep told me it would be 2 or 3 weeks before the fence would be installed. This was the promise up to the signing of the contract on 5/17/14. It took a while for my order to get from
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
to the contractor and for the contractor to contact me with an installation date, as I was calling rep to get a copy of my credit card receipt from
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
rep and an installation date for some time. Instead of scheduling within 2 or 3 weeks as promised, it was almost 9 weeks--7/17/14. I complained to the store manger who was told by the rep that no mention of installation date was made at signing of contract. That was not true--it was of utmost importance to me as I was coordinating the removal of my hedges by a landscaper. When I told
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
rep that I asked landscaper if I should wait until hedges were removed before signing
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
contract, rep said it was a good thing I didn't because I would be looking at a 5 or 6 week wait for installation as opposed to 2 or 3 weeks. Best Fence assured me that nothing would prevent installation on 7/17 except a torrential downpour. So the fence is scheduled to be installed tomorrow, and I'm following up with
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
manager and the contractor because no materials have been delivered.
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
manager says their one flatbed driver is out and they are trying to get another driver. I can't imagine that would be a problem for
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
. Also, before signing the contract, rep said installer would come over to look at the job before the installation date. Installer said they don't do that, and they did not. So far following up with
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
and contractor has cost me a lot of time and waiting for a fence far longer than promised. Personally, I feel service would have been much better if I were not a single woman, and if there were a man present in my home when the rep was here. I am 52 years old and have done a lot of business with companies, I can tell what's going on.

Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
supplied, delivered, and poured concrete for a replacement patio that we are building in the backyard of our home.

I cannot fault their work. They arrived exactly on time, executed the pour without incident, and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves.

Unfortunately, the customer service provided by their billing department was rude, threatening, and condescending. I paid
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
for their work through my contractor on the day following the pour; and my contractor confirmed that he had passed my payment along to them within a day. Two weeks later I received a certified letter from
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
threatening that they would place a
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
on my house and initiate foreclosure unless I paid them. My contractor, once again, proved that payment had been made as originally stated.

I called
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
at the number indicated on their Preliminary Notice to inquire if they had actually received and processed the payment. I was made to understand that my inquiry was a huge bother and that if I didn't understand what the Preliminary Notice was all about, then I shouldn't be "in the business." My attempt to explain that I wasn't "in the business" but was an ordinary homeowner who just wanted to find out if
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
had been paid was rebuffed with a terse "check with your contractor."
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
never did provide me with a definite statement as to whether they did or did not receive payment; but I trust my contractor and therefore did not pursue the matter. I've heard nothing further from
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
which, I suppose, is good.

So, how do I rate this company? The work they did was first rate. The customer service provided by their accounting/billing department was horrible.

Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
were very difficult to deal with. Very poor customer service and very poor quality of work by
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
walked off the job without finishing the work. We had to utilize a lawyer and arbitration in order to get
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
to return the substantial amount of materials and money he owed us. I would never recommend
Farmington Lumber Stores Provider Name Locked
to anyone for any type of construction or renovation work.
