Siding Reviews in Creve Coeur

A great company to hire. My sales rep
Young was very thorough, patient, and informative. All sections of this company aim to please. The receptionist, workers, and owner himself all take an interest in making sure that you are comfortable with the work being done and they perform their tasks with excellence being the goal at all times.

I look forward to hiring them again and strongly recommend them to others.

We were extremely satisfied with the work that they did on our roof and gutters.
is a very charming young man. We had a problem with the work that their subcontractors had done. We did not confirm that we had wanted the roof to be repaired and we had heard some hammering the next day. The owner had said that they would be back the next week but came the next day. They never announced themselves to me to tell me that they were doing work. When
came, they made their presense known to me. When we did not pay our bill, we told him of our concerns and he left it up to us. He wanted to keep his good reputation.

Siding reviews in Creve Coeur

The owner is a neighbor and her company had done some work for another neighbor who recommended her. I also called the BBB and checked on her company since I could not find her on Angie's List. I called her and told her I would like an estimate for the repair work. She assigned her Production Supervisor to come by my house, inspect the damage, and give me an estimate. The Production Supervisor made telephone contact with me in a very timely manner. I received the estimate as promised. When I decided to use this company, the owner, a neighbor, came to my house to show me paperwork to confirm she is insured, and that I would get a

waiver and warranty. The work was completed as promised and, after I paid the bill, I quickly received the waiver of

and warranty in the mail. Very Professional. When the owner came to my house she brought me a folder with her company name (they specialize as "Insurance Restoration Specialists"), a copy of Certificate of Liability Insurance, and her business card.

's company was quite reliable. I am getting another estimate this week for some painting I need.

The only reason for the b in professionalism was that their paperwork was a little messed up. There were 2 invoices, one was incorrect. They were very nice about correcting their mistake. Other than that, everything was good

Maybe it is my fault for expecting too much, but I was under the impression that the damaged piece of fascia was going to be replaced in its entirety. This was not the case however, as the
Creve Coeur Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
just cut off the bottom 18-24 inches of it and put in a patch in it's place. And he did not do it very well. While the paint matches, the piece is very obvious and looks terrible.
He also left the can of paint sitting on the hand rail.
Which would not be a problem except that I asked to also clean my gutters. But what I did not expect was that he would clean the gutters onto my deck and then leave that mess there as well. This includes the gutter screens that he just left sitting there. I don't know about you, but I kind of figured he would clean the gutters and at least push the waste into the yard...but I guess that step costs more or something. Same thing with the trash he left behind.
Overall, I am pretty dissatisfied. This is my home. I don't want to have it patched and looking crappy. I want it to look nice.
I think this annoys me enough that I am going to have to call a real carpenter and have this done right.
In the meantime, I guess I have to clean up

's mess.
You think they'll pay me for that? You know, finishing what they started?

So after they read my review, I was contacted by one of their customer service reps. In our conversation she told me that

A) she was sorry that they left a mess but that their guy denied it. I asked if she wanted to see a picture, she said no.

B) That she was very concerned about the grade I gave them. And that they have an A rating and do I know how hard it is to bring a grade up? It takes 7 A reviews to bring a bad grade up and would I please change the grade.

C) She said that she wished I had called them to let them know they did a poor job before I reviewed them.

D) She said that there was mis-communication on the scope of the work, and for an additional fee they would come out and do the work the way I thought it was going to be done.

After thinking on this for a while, here are my thoughts:

A) I am not making up the mess on my deck and the construction waste that was left behind. don't tell me he denied it. Just apologize.

B) No. I won't bring up the grade. In fact, as a result of this phone call, which in all honesty was purely an attempt to get me to raise their grade from a "C" I decided to drop it to a "D". I am insulted that the phone call was aimed at not satisfying me, but a deep need to get a better grade.

C) Do your job right the first time. I should not have to call you to clean up your mess. And even if I had, that, in my mind, is still less than average performance and would not result in an A or a B.

D)Really? After I had to spend my time finishing the job you were contracted to do, you have the nerve to try to sell me something else? Frankly, I was a little bit shocked that you didn't offer to do the repair, correctly, for free. We are talking about a difference of 6 feet of board, some nails and a little paint. How about we take the hourly fee I charge my clients, apply it to the amount of time it took to clean my deck, and subtract that from your adjusted fee?

This whole experience has left me bitter. They had an opportunity to make it right in the phone call. She could have apologized. She could have said, let us take a percentage of your next work with us, should you choose to use us again. But grade grubbing, making excuses and trying to get me to give them more money is outright bad business.

"I contacted Mr. [member name removed] after reading his initial review on Angies List. At
Creve Coeur Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
we want all of our customers to have a positive experience. I asked him if he would allow us to come back out to his home and review the work and he declined."

This was offered as a service with an extra charge. So no, I did not accept. Why would I pay for more bad work?

"I never asked Mr. [member name removed] to change our grade on Angies List, infact he told me he would consider raising our grade to a B"

While I don't remember the exact words of what she said, it was pretty clear how important the grade was to her. How else would I know it takes seven good reviews to change a grade? I have no need to make any of this up. I gain nothing from any of this. In fact I've actually lost money and time. Both in doing their job and writing these reviews.

"I told him we would have liked the opportunity to come out and make sure he was satisfied before he posted a bad review."

Well, how many chances do you want to get things right? It is my belief that your
Creve Coeur Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
to review it was when you did it. No one looks at a messy job site and says "there...perfect". Have some pride in your work.

"The original work order was for replacing just the damaged section. Mr. [member name removed] said that he understands there could have been a price increase for replacing the entire board. I asked if we could come out and review the work and look at replacing more of the board and he said "no we are thinking of having all the siding replaced in the near future"."

Again, this was offered as an extra service with an upcharge.

I did apologize to Mr. [member name removed] for the experience that he had and asked him if he did reconsider using us again we will make sure to assign a different craftsman.

She did say that. I also told her that I would not be calling them again.

Honestly, I can appreciate the fact that they need to defend I will add a caveat. This was my experience and my experience only. There are a great many people on angies who find this company competent and clearly had a great job done. I was just not one of them. Who knows, maybe the man working on my job was harried, or had other things on his mind, or overworked or whatever, and just neglected to care about his work. But that's not my problem. That's the problem of that man. My problem is that I was a dissatisfied customer made further dissatisfied by customer service.

They really did have a
Creve Coeur Siding Contractors Provider Name Locked
to make it up to me...the phone call from customer service could have been a much more pleasant experience. The fact that she brought up grades at all is upsetting. Satisfy the customer and you'll get good grades.

I am a fair reviewer. I will point to the variety of reviews I have made. If you do an average job you get an average grade. An A is not average. If you do a bad job you get a bad grade...I do give A's and I have given them for quality work with great service...but this was not such a case.

I contacted over six expert siding companies and "handy" men (all on Angie's list) this morning in desperation for an urgent repair of several sections of siding that had become loose in the STL wind last night. I was fearful that all of it, from the 2nd story windows to the peak, would fall off. Of all those I contacted, 3 of the 4 that returned my calls were unavailable or unwilling to take on the job because it was "too small".One person (also on Angie's list) who told me he could not take the job referred me to

LLC - within just a couple of hours, Rusty not only came to look at the damage but repaired my siding and charge me a nominal fee.....amazing in this brutally cold and blustery weather. I am so relieved to have the siding repaired and the stress of losing all of it behind me. Thanks Rusty. I will be calling you if I ever need exterior work on my home.
