Window Replacement reviews in Columbia

They were on time, on budget, and great to work with. The mess was contained and clean every evening and we joked that we almost didn't know they were here working.

They poured 8 piers for columns and then built the sunroom stick and board from scratch. My wife wanted car siding on the inside and she wanted to stain it herself. Window Depot was very flexible and responsive about scheduling the installation of the siding with the progress of my wife doing the staining. We have had the room now for a few weeks in 100+ temperature and we are amazed at how the triple pain glass insulates the room and the main wall faces south Window Depot did an amazing job! My wife and I could not be happier.

We have a house built in 1939, with the original windows and trim, with storm window panes added sometime in the past. After talking with 3 or 4 window installers, Swift was the only company that indicated that they could retain all of the original 1939 trim, which all of the other installers insisted had to be torn out, replaced and repainted. Swift took out the old windows from outside the house and replaced them with outstanding double-hung windows in the same style as what came out, and retained all of the original trim, which did not even have to be re-painted, so careful was their work. Swift replaced 33 windows in two stories of the house, and every one of the windows was a work of art, perfectly in style with the house and also working perfectly, but with modern standards of insulation. The change in ventilation in the house was striking, drafts which I had thought came from the central HVAC air currents disappeared, and heating bill dropped substantially. After three years, the windows are still flawless.

I had a great experience with
Columbia Window Installers Provider Name Locked
- the owner and his crew were very professional and courteous and the job was done very well and very quickly.

They do our remodeling, door replacements and some odds and ends around the outdoors that needed to be taken care of. Including siding and just fixing up and that kind of stuff. They are going to be replacing our doors in a few days. a few landscaping items and they are doing an addition to one of our rooms. I feel the pricing is reasonable. Their timing is a little slow, like responsive time.

We had awful old metal windows from the 60's. They had to charge a little extra because they had to tear out all of the metal but we were okay with that because their price overall was the best estimate that we had received. Another reason we decided to go with this company was because they guaranteed to get the whole job done in one day AND we had read other positive reviews. Everyone was super nice and professional. I honestly didn't believe that they could get this job done in a day due to the extra work of having to rip out all of the metal but they did. They actually didn't even take the whole day! They were very respectful of our home and our property and thoroughly covered everything so nothing got dirty. The windows are awesome. When I accidentally popped the window out of it's holder I called and got service right away. They were going to send someone to show me how to fix it and what to do if it happened again but my husband showed me. I called and again to tell them not to come and again got service right away. This company is amazing and if you need a job done well, and want it done quickly, call them!

Work order was signed and hands were shook on August 31, 2011 for contractor to install 22 replacement windows. Windows proposed to us were

Vinyl. Was told that windows would qualify for

Electric energy rebates. All we had to do was to have an energy audit performed and provide the proof of the improvements to

. The windows were ordered and after a lengthy wait they were installed. It only took two days for the two workers to remove all 22 windows and install the new ones. There were multiple issues with the windows. Most of them were bowed. The contractor sent out a worker to see why. Thought maybe they were measured wrong and were too tight. The worker removed one of the windows. They were measured correctly, but noticed that the installers did not insulate around the window. We had all of the windows removed and inspected to find out that the majority of them had very little to no insulation around them. All of the windows were reinstalled and insulated. However the bowing issue still was there. Precision had a factory rep come out and look at all of the problems. Problems such as the bowing, sliding mechanisms not working right, finger prints inside between to two panes of glass and weep hole covers missing. The rep even tried to install a rounded weephole cover in a rectangle one and when I pointed it out he said "Picky, picky, picky"! So even though we were having so many problems with the windows, we gave Precision the go ahead to start our deck project. Part of that project was to remove a large window and cut out some brick and install a custom slider to fit to access the deck. The deck itself turned out good and the sub-contractor that install it was great. However, the slider, which was made by the same manufacturer as the windows, has had several issues of its own. So now it's March 2012. After all of the troubles, failed service calls, waiting for answers, being put out to accomodate them, the projects are complete for the most part. The bowing of the windows was remedied be putting a screw in the top and bottom the window frame and installing a cap in the drill hole. To me, this was not an acceptable fix. More like a bandaid. Precision didn't even caulk the screw like the manufacture instructed them to in the bulletin. When we brought that up to the worker that did all the repairs, he said he was just instructed to put the screws in and that was it. We have not paid the second half of either project yet even though Precision wants us to. We have made them a fair offer to settle on the deck. However, the windows that were supposed to be energy efficient and qualify for the
Columbia Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Rebates, well they don't. Their U factor was too high. So now we are out the $200 for the energy audit and will not receive the $500 from
Columbia Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Electric because the windows are not efficient enough. This has been nothing but a huge disappointment. Precision has not accepted the offer we made them on the windows. Look like next step is going to court. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!!!! They do not do any of the work themselves. They sub-contract everything. They will not stand up to anything that their sales person says. Beware!!!

I was very disappointed after all the reviews I had read. I called on a Saturday and talked to the representative. I told him that I needed two replacement windows and maybe four. I also wanted him to measure for new storm doors. He was very pleasant and informative. He contacted my tenant that morning and made an appointment for that afternoon. They stated he was very prompt and polite. He indicated to me that he would get in contact me within a week .He also gave me his mobile number and I gave him my contact number. I didn't hear from him so I called the main office and spoke to the owner. He was very nice and told me I would receive a call within a few hours. Since I had given him my mobile number, I assumed that was the number he would call. When I arrived home that evening, there was a message from him.(I assume number from caller id) He apologized and stated he had been very busy due to the hail storm. Since I didn't get to speak to him I had a few questions about the windows. I called his mobile number at least three times and maybe four leaving the number I could be reached. I never received one reply. After reading all the reviews and the service awards, I am very surprised at their response. I realize that I didn't need a lot of windows, but I had indicated to him that I had five duplexes and would probably be needing more. I'm sure they must be a very good company, but I feel if I have to call the owner to get a response from his rep then I don't feel comfortable doing business with them. Perhaps they like to deal with larger orders.

It went extremely well. I was so impressed with the degree of care they took with everything they did, All their work was absolutely perfect. They did things, like adding flashing and extra insulation that we did not even know could be done. They treated our house like it was theirs. It looks beautiful.

We had 9 original windows replaced in our 1970's build ranch home with double hung

vinyl windows.
Columbia Window Installers Provider Name Locked
gave us a very reasonable estimate that was well below the big box stores and some other companies. I saw that they were well liked on Angies List and had a AAA rating with the BBB, so I pulled the trigger on the windows.
Columbia Window Installers Provider Name Locked
asked that we have plenty of clearance around the windows beforehand, and I think that preparation helps them move along as quickly as they did. The installers were very friendly and professional, and the installation took only one day. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the area after the windows were installed and they even took great care to avoid damaging my garden as they worked in it. The team had to remove the old metal frame windows by breaking them out, install new windows, weather seal, and wrap the exterior. Finally, they went back over all of the features of the windows, showed me how they worked, and reiterated the guarantees I am entitled to.
The windows themselves have a few quirks, which is why I gave a B in quality. They seal well and are easy to open, but there are some nuances around removing and reinstalling the panes that make them not the easiest to use. I also have a hard time getting them to latch shut sometimes, but this may be due to the aforementioned reinstallation quirks.
Overall, I recommend
Columbia Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to anyone looking for a nice, affordable, basic replacement for their old windows.
