"I did a lot of research before going, and I'm definitely doing better. He was good. I had the surgery on a Friday, and he came in both on Saturday and Sunday" to see how I was doing. He explained things well, and took the time to answer my questions


"First of all, my 2 B's that I gave him reflect his popularity and the fact that sometimes an appointment takes longer than the 15 minutes allows. In some appointments," I am in and out in the 15 minutes and once I took 45 minutes.....and apologized to all of the waiting room when the receptionist announced that he was running an hour behind now. I would wait however long it takes to see him. So, come a little bit early and bring a good book. Dr. is very personable and compassionate. For a surgeon who is so specialized, compassion can be a rarity. He explains detailed information about spine disease and surgery in terms that can be understood. He always reviews my x-rays with me and explains everything in as much detail as I want. Since I was in a lot of pain, I told him that I wanted surgery sooner than he could easily schedule it. He was able to do the surgery on a off day and arrange for 2 other surgeons to assist him. After my surgery, he visited me daily in the hospital and was concerned about my progress. I would highly recommend Dr. for spinal surgery. He is an excellent compassionate surgeon.

The orthopedic is Dr. . He is at the Family Medical walk in clinic. April is when I first consulted him. Initially he has impressed me very, very good. He spends lots of time with you. In fact, usually if you are not the first appointment of the day then you have got to wait because he takes a lot of time with each patient. For ...More anything bone related, he is a specialist in that. I would definitely grade him all 'A's. He is really good at knowing medications and how they affect you. He got me to get off of certain medicines that were given to me for my leg and so I quit it. It came to a point where I was almost feeling debilitated and his suggestion was to stop taking an anti cholesterol and that worked. My cardiologist agreed that it was safe to do so and that is really good. The only thing that would be a 'B' is the promptness because if you are not his first appointment then you are going to get into the room late because he spends so much time with the patients ahead of you. My wife uses him also.

My experiences with Doctor Budorick have been consistent since my first appointment with him 5-6 years ago. In fact, I didn't realize it was the same doctor I visited back then until I was again looking for treatment and returned last year. Dr. B comes across as friendly and patient, but to me his sole focus on surgical treatment does not serve ...More the well-being of the patient. He again communicated that surgery did not make sense for me, which I was relieved to hear. When pressed on what I can do to help maintain a healthy back and prevent any progression of my condition, he had no suggestions whatsoever. I asked if there were any physical therapists who specialized in scoliotic backs or any who had better results when working with backs. He was not aware of any at all. I have to give credit that he asked his secretary to call me with one suggestion for a therapy office later, but the issue of a specialist in spines having no good advice and alternatives outside of surgery is a major one for me.
I will also mention that when I visited him 1 year ago for a checkup, he said that the x-rays were not done in the same way as the one from the original scan 5-6 years ago so it was not possible to compare whether the scoliosis had progressed. This was the main reason I had come to see him. This year he said the curve seemed similar as last year, but did not share degree measurements, which have always been the key piece of information referenced in appts with other doctors since I was diagnosed with the condition as a teenager and everything I've read online since.

I had an accident where I injured my ankle and went to the Community Hospital.emergency section Dr. was the orthopedic staff Doctor. He treated me for the entire length of my injury. Dr. explained the injury, the course and length of treatment. Everything he said would happen turned ...More out exactly how he described it. I would definitely see Dr. in the future and I have recommended him to others.

Dr is fine but the support staff and clinic administration is HORRIBLE! My wife had 2 spine surgeries.Staff failed to turn in paperwork and order procedures in timely manner and my wife got removed from disability and FMLA! The staff is rude and pretentious . DO NOT GO o to Dr, Tomeah - the worst administration in History! SO bad I'm filing claim ...More with State attorney General and anyone else who will listen. My primary care doctor he gets a lot of complaints from this office and has stopped referring folks. AGAIN DR is good,. but because he fails to correct his well known issue- he's part of the problem. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED_ STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOINT!!!!

I saw Dr. in March 2014 following a slip-and-fall on ice the preceding December. Following an MRI that revealed herniated disks at L3/L4 and L4/L5, I scheduled surgery for 19 May 2014. The reason for waiting until May for the procedure was that as a college professor, I did not wish to disrupt my students' semester by ...More having a new instructor for the remainder of the Spring 2014 school term. My surgery went precisely as planned, and I was in hospital for three days post-op, then transferred to an in-patient rehab facility for 8 days. I was walking well before leaving the hospital and continued to improve over the course of in-patient rehab. I was discharged from rehab on 02 June 2014, and was driving when I left the facility. As with my first surgery in 2010, my recovery was what I considered miraculous; I would not even consider another physician for spinal issues as long as Dr. is in practice.
As regards the doctor/patient relationship, Dr. is incredible. He will spend as much time as the PATIENT needs to explain ALL available options and treatment modalities. He is compassionate and caring, and appreciative of the individual's psychosocial and emotional needs, as well as any financial constraints a patient may have. Dr. gets to actually KNOW his patients, and this comes through when he recalls the thread of the last conversation he had with a patient and resumes that thread at the next visit. His Nurse Practitioner, , shares his concern, compassion, and personal knowledge of patients, and she inspires the same confidence as Dr. .
I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Rimlaw, Ms. , and the clinic and its staff. The atmosphere is positive and reassuring. I have referred several individuals to Dr. , and they - like myself - have experienced the same positive results as I have. In my opinion - and I have had many years experience working in physicians offices and hospitals prior to entering academia - you could not find a better physician, Nurse Practitioner, and clinical staff than at MISI.

The big problem with this place is that the surgeons have no time to speak with their patients. Thus, you get stuck seeing the PA. This is probably OK for most things. But, if you have questions the PA cannot answer, the PA promises to ask the surgeon and then call you. This is where it turns into a bad game of "Telephone". For me, the ...More PA never called back. Eventually, I tried to call them. But, you cannot call the PA (much less the surgeon). You have to leave a voice-mail with the medical secretary. The medical secretary sends an email to the PA. Then, presumably, the PA actually takes your question to the surgeon. This whole route gets repeated in reverse with the surgeon's answer. For me, this took over 2 days for the round trip. When I got a call back from the medical secretary, the answer hardly resembled the question I asked. So, I asked a follow up question. Another day and a half later, I got another incomplete answer.
And, this is the only way to interact with the doctor. There is NO option to actually talk to the PA. Emailing the doctor or PA is somehow impossible. I suppose I could have made another appointment to go in and talk to them, but all this was a question I originally asked in the office. I can't imagine what it would like to have questions or problems after surgery.

He had great bed side manner. He is great at explaining things. He treats you like an individual, not like just any other patient. He is fabulous. He was very down to earth.

It was AWFUL. I came prepared with medical records and imaging (CT scans), in addition to the set of MRIs that was already on file in the office, and I handed the disc to the nurse. Dr. came into the room less than five minutes later, so I can guarantee he did not look at the imaging (there are lots of CT scans on there and each ...More set has numerous views and . Loading up all the different sets of imaging alone, without even looking at them, would have taken longer than five minutes.
When he came in, he was friendly but rushed. He started to go over my notes about my symptoms, and did a very quick and superficial exam. It seemed that he already had an idea of what he thought my issue was and was only looking for symptoms that matched his theory while ignoring other symptoms as irrelevant. When I asked him a question about the metal prong and whether it was part of the equation, he gave a cursory answer, and when I didn't understand and asked again, he started yelling at me. Literally, YELLING at me (with raised voice and all). He yelled that no one should ever try to take it out, that if someone did I would die, and any doctor who did that should his license. At that point, I yelled back and told him to stop, as I was in tears, and I couldn't get a word in edgewise.
I had long ago decided that I wouldn't listen to a word this doctor had to say, because of the cursory exam and then being yelled at, but I was too shocked to leave yet (and I was in a gown so I didn't feel like I could just stand up and walk out). I asked him if he had seen the CT scans I had given him to determine the metal in my back wasn't causing pain. He said he had seen the MRI, and that was more important because it showed the nerves, and I asked again if he had seen the scans. He said yes. So, after not looking at the scans, he lied to me about it.
He started trying to tell me how he thought the piece of metal got there in the way that it did, telling me it "probably" did this or that, and it "probably" wasn't a further issue. When I asked him if the piece of metal was sticking out far enough to hurt any surrounding structures (like blood or organs), he said no, it wasn't, or it would have interacted with the (the body's biggest blood ). When I explained to him that, yes, the piece of metal had entered my spine from inside the (a medical device which had been implanted in there had complications, and a long metal piece had gone through the wall of the and lodged in my back). He looked at me in disbelief, and told me that couldn't have happened, because if that happened, I would have died. I assured him that it did happen that way, and he said it wasn't possible, because I would have bled out - and then he asked me if I bled out or not. (For the folks unfamiliar with medical terminology, "bleeding out" is what happens as a result of severe trauma, when a major artery or is cut, and a person "bleeds out" all their blood and .) So, when he asked me if I bled out, he was essentially asking me if I had died. And, if he had reviewed my images like he said he did, he would have seen that I was telling the truth and that was, in fact, what happened.
His ultimate diagnosis was that I had some sort of bursitis in the tendons on my thighs. He came to this conclusion after about three minutes of reading my symptoms and asking a few questions. The appointment was only about ten minutes long, and most of it was taken up by the arguing, yelling, guessing, and lying. However, he even got THAT wrong. Two other back surgeons I saw later that week both decided on a different diagnosis from Dr. 's, and both of them had the same diagnosis as the other, and reached that conclusion independently (the second doctor didn't know I had gone to the first doctor) - and the information needed to pinpoint the issue was in the MRI, which Dr. supposedly reviewed.
He was a horrible doctor - he gave a very cursory exam and only looked for symptoms that fit his idea of what was going on; he he yelled at me for asking questions, he lied to me about viewing my imaging that I had brought for him to review; he guessed at what the imaging showed; and he didn't believe me when I explained what had happened.
I will NEVER go to this provider again. He could be the greatest thing since sliced bread in the back surgery field and I still wouldn't recommend him. If I hadn't gotten such stellar treatment from the other providers at , I would not have returned.
