bid on our job April 1st 2014. We accepted his bid 5/20/14 and sent him a $500 retainer. The work has been going slow ever since - but that is mainly due to all the rain we have had. We gave him half of the money owed to start the job.
The pond clean out went well. When the 'heart shape' was not completely removed as promised he fixed it - so it is now as promised. His excavator (Rich) is very good at his job. The windmill guys were great and the dock guys did fine. The beach bid has that a '1 ft boulder wall apprx. 65 ft' would be installed around the beach area $1200.00 (his words - not ours). What we actually have is a row of rocks that are not 1' in diameter lined up separating sand from dirt/grass. None of which measures 1 ft. or is a 'wall'. Before the beach was installed we had inquired on whether it would wash away since he wanted to install it on a slope. He insisted it would not. After the beach sand was put in place and the rock border put around it we inquired again on how this would not wash away.
insisted it would not. It rained - it washed away all the way to the plastic in places - $2700 for sand and rocks that are a HUGE mess in less than one month of being installed. We would have paid more to have had it dug down so it was not on such a slope had he said it needed to be - or it could have been put on a more level area.
It is a mess out there around the pond (once again - this was partly expected due to all the work), however we did not expect the beach to immediately wash out (it was never suppose to wash out according to
). So we have sent him photo's of the beach and have requested something to be worked out over this. It has been 2 days and still no word from
. We have had a couple other companies out here in the last week to look at extending the beach to the dock and for a quote on grass seed. One suggested a retaining wall and 2 steps leading to the beach so it wouldn't wash away (then 2 days later - it did).
Though we do not mind paying for some type of wall if it is needed, we do not think all the cost of a beach re-do should be ours. The work needs to be made right. They are the professionals and should have known better. Should have paid attention and cared. $2700 should not have washed away in less than one month. We haven't heard from
since sending him the photos and telling him what happened two days ago...
seems to be overwhelmed. His communication with customers is almost non-existent - he texts instead of calls and tends not to answer a customers texts or calls. He tells you he will call and does not. He does not show up on time (this is him - not his workers). He does not contact the customer to tell them anything and if you call to ask when someone will be back to work if you haven't seen anyone in a few days he tells you you are in a 'hurry'.
All this being said we believe he is overwhelmed with too much work .He is very unprofessional in his business dealings and needs some help with this - maybe an office person or ??. He needs to contact his customers and just tell them what is going on...ex. -' its rained so much we can't run our machines until it dries up some' OR 'We are behind due to....and will be there....?' Just some kind of contact lets a person know they haven't been forgotten and aren't being ripped off.

I called in the morning and they had a truck deliver washed rock within three hours. Good price, certainly fast response.

was very professional and completed the job on time as originally scheduled. He brought two workers who did an excellent job from the start to finish. They also accommodated my request very well. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a new concrete sidewalk!

We called and they came very quickly to look at the job and the estimate was emailed to me quickly.
We had quite a challenging schedule from our end and needed the work done quickly and only had a few dates open for the work and they worked very hard to accommodate us.
The job turned out great, we learned a lot in the process, and have another job in mind for them in the future.
Would use them again!

Our septic tank was backing up through the inspection pipe whenever we did laundry. I had
Shakopee Excavators Provider Name Locked
septic come out last Fall to pump the tank, but had not dug up the tank to expose the 2 hatches. The pumping that
Shakopee Excavators Provider Name Locked
did had no effect and once again the tank was full.
This time, I dug out the top of the tank and exposed the 2 hatch covers. I went to Angie's List to find septic system companies in my area (Columbia, MD) and started calling. I wanted to get the job done as soon as possible; like the next day! Some companies never even returned my call. I really don't understand that! Others wouldn't be available for weeks or, in the case of
Shakopee Excavators Provider Name Locked
, it would be almost a month! King & Son returned my call promptly and were able to squeeze our job in the next day. The price was competitive with all of the other estimates that I received.
King & Son Septic came out and did a great job. The guy doing the work back-flushed the tank several times and loosened the hard-packed material at the bottom. He made sure that everything was out before shutting down.
We talked about other possible causes of the back-up while he was working. He passed along a lot of good advice for general septic system use and what to do if ours continued to have problems.
He had a printout of septic system information that he left for us. I thought that was a nice touch.
We were able to pay using a credit card on the spot, so we didn't have to have a bunch of cash on-hand.
Overall, very professional, informative, personable and competent. This is a family business and, from what I could tell, a very good one. I will not hesitate to call upon this company again if I need their services. I give them my strongest recommendation.

Very polite guy showed up, looked at the problem and went right to work. Showed up when he was supposed to; even called ahead
To double check direction and the problem, plus he was ON TIME. So far, no water leaks, and no problems.

Initially with our 1st 40 yard dumpster ($451) we had no issues. We rented an excavator for the weekend and tore down our garage and breezeway and got everything removed with no overages or damage issues. So, we needed another dumpster for our concrete removal of the garage and breezeway floors so naturally we just used IRS again. My husband contacted IRS and asked for another dumpster and explained it was for concrete removal. IRS sent another 40 yard dumpster ($451). We rented another excavator for the weekend and put the concrete in the dumpster that they sent. When we called to get the dumpster removed they told us that it was too heavy and that we would have to lighten it and we were charged $71 just to approximately travel 5 miles to our house (fuel charges from

& Ash to our home on

& Bittersweet...didn't know gas was that expensive). We had already returned the excavator and tried to explain to IRS that we told them it was for concrete removal so why send a 40 yard dumpster when we couldn't fill all 40 yards. IRS argued with us that we didn't tell them it was for concrete, but my husband (who called in to rent it) clearly remembers them asking what it was for and him telling them concrete removal. Needless to say horrible communication between secretaries and customers. Their solution was that we had to pay for a 20 yard dumpster on top of the 40 yard one we already paid for, just to split our concrete in half. We did not feel it was fair to pay for a 40 yard and a 20 yard when our total amount was still the original 40 yards of concrete. We did speak to a very nice driver who told us about concrete only dumpsters that were half the cost of a typical trash removal dumpster ($190). We were grateful to hear about this, but at the same time even more frustrated that when we contacted IRS for a dumpster for concrete removal we were not informed about this by their secretaries. We rented another excavator for the weekend (putting our progress behind a weekend) and took out half of the concrete and put it in a 20 yard concrete only dumpster. Both dumpsters were picked up (neither was too heavy for their truck this time) and we thought our nightmare was over. We were wrong. They contacted us claiming damage to the dumpster that we saw was there when it was delivered and a weight overage on the 40 yard dumpster that we removed 20 yards of concrete from ($343.20). We do not believe that what we left in the dumpster caused it to be over weight, but we had no way to prove it so being the honest people we are we just paid the charge and vow to NEVER USE IRS AGAIN! Dumpsters that should have only cost us $902 (our two 40 yard dumpsters) ended up costing $1506.20 (our two 40 yard dumpsters, concrete dumpster, travel fee, and weight overages) plus another weekend rental of an excavator just to split the concrete into 2 dumpsters. I do not recommend IRS for dumpster rental and if you find yourself using them record your phone conversations and take pictures of everything!

Mr. Beemans put a septic system in for us in the fall of 2012. The alarm on the pump he installed started to go off in the winter of 2013. My daughter and her family were on a mini-vacation at the house. When I called Mr Beemans for help, he refused to come to help; he said he was too busy snow plowing for companies such as WalMart. He hung up on me. We had another company come and address the issue.
Two weeks ago we found out part of the original septic system, which we had thought was disabled, started to overflow. Unbeknownst to us, part otf the original septic system was not only still in use, but also not connected to the new system. Thus it could not handle the plumbing contents that were going into it. Mr.
Shakopee Excavators Provider Name Locked
response is that he did not know the house was plumbed that way, and he is not going to compensate us in any way for this mistake, which has obviously cost us money to have another company fix. I have called him three times to try to reach some sort of agreement; after ranting for a while he has hung up on me each time.
As per the other review concerning Mr
Shakopee Excavators Provider Name Locked
business practice, he asked us also for more money than he had originally bid back in 2013.

It was Friday night when the "911" emergency arose and I was really hoping I could find someone who provided Saturday hours such that the service wouldn't be a premium cost. Chief posted Saturday hours, great! But even better,
Shakopee Excavators Provider Name Locked
worked his schedule to get to us serviced Saturday morning. His evidenced care when digging to avoid sprinklers and he was very careful with the backhoe. All in all, I can confidently recommend Chief. You get what you need, quick attention, job done RIGHT and good pricing. KUDOS!

They started by fixing our hillside slips and then addressing our drainage issues. They put French drains around the house and new drainage in the driveway to help keep the water off the hillside. We also had 6-8 trees removed while they were there. They always showed up on time and kept us informed on what was going on. They kept us within our budget and time frame. The owner/ operator was very patient and knowledgeable about what we needed done. We are very pleased with the work we received from Bobcat Excavation and would highly recommend them to family and friends.
