Business Description: Paul Ellringer president of Air Tamarack is a building scientist, registered engineer (14162), and certified industrial hygienist (1552). For the past fifteen years, he has investigated moisture related concerns in over 1,000 buildings. Paul has authored twenty papers, books and articles on these issues, many of which have been published nationally. Over the past ten years, Paul has investigated wall failure problems related to moisture penetration in over 500 residential houses in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. For five years Paul has been presenting a State of Minnesota certified “Contractors License Renewal Course” on building construction techniques to avoid water penetration concerns. This eight hour course is presented regularly to residential building contractors at Century College. Paul for three years was on the State Building Code Residential Energy Committee, which was responsible for the present building code to make buildings more energy efficient as well as more durable and resistant to water penetration. Paul has published papers regarding the cause of stucco wall failures in residential and commercial buildings in Minnesota. Paul has been involved with indoor air quality issues in buildings for 35 years. Perform investigations into wall failure problems related to moisture penetration, determine cause and effect, provide expert witness testimony, and provide proper rebuild designs to avoid future problems. Oversee contractors performing the rebuilding of defective walls. Perform indoor air quality investigations in residential and office buildings with a specialty in microbial concerns. Investigate fungal concerns in residential buildings, document findings, provide expert witness testimony, and develop recommendations for fungal abatement and rebuild. Provide required building code training to residential construction contractors at Century College in order for them to keep their contractor licenses.
