"Purchased the service on Fri.,
. 23rd. Heard back from the scheduler (who, by the way, was very nice) within a reasonable amount of time." However, the only openings suggested were on Sundays (which usually are not good for me). I went ahead and reluctantly made an afternoon appt. on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately (as is usually the case on weekends) unforeseen events came up and I had to reschedule to another Sunday afternoon (which also had to be rescheduled). Glad to say the scheduler was very prompt to return my calls as well as most courteous and understanding AND I was finally able to make an appointment on a weekday which worked out perfectly for me. The two workmen arrived on time (after calling to let me know they were on their way). They were both very polite, put booties on their feet (which I appreciate since I have white carpet) and went about cleaning the many vents upstairs and downstairs as well as cleaning my dryer vent and inspecting my furnace. I did have to pay an additional $18.90 for tax which I expected after reading another customer's review. What I didn't expect or appreciate, however, was the "upselling" to buy a new electromagnetic furnace filter ($150) and a washable vent filter (for another $150). I also didn't appreciate finding dark residue around two of my upstairs floor vents as well as several walls marked by their vacuum hose :( Was also expecting to have a clean smelling fragrance as a result of their sanitizing my ventilation system (like I did from a previous company)...but not sure what their definition is of sanitizing. All is all, it wasn't a horrible experience but it could have been better. I do not plan to hire their services again.

"They did a very good job. I inspected the work and they had completed all the details of the order. They did good work and were done earlier than expected. We are very pleased with the results.

Air Duct Cleaning & Air Quality

The air you breathe indoors can become more polluted than outdoor air because it's trapped inside, allowing contaminants to accumulate. Many HVAC companies offer air duct cleaning services, but there's no scientific proof that air duct cleaning improves air quality.

Is Air Duct Cleaning Worth it?

Although there's no scientific evidence proving that air duct cleaning improves air quality, experts agree that there is value in the service.

Yes Jupiter. It depends on the severity of the situation, is the mold encapsulated in the insulation. If yes, than replace [insulation] it with new. Is it on the casing of the heater? If yes, clean it with a mold neutralizing metal cleaner. It's not a matter of finding something or someone to clean or address the existing mold. It's a matter of finding a contractor to rectify what is causing the mold grow. It's coming from excessive moisture in the air-handler unit. I can say with 100% surety you’re dealing with poor airflow and/or incorrect equipment sizing! Either issue will cause excessive icing of the evaporator coil, which leads to excessive condensate water in the system. The condensate will eventually overflow the drain pan leaving stagnant water in the air-handler housing, which leads to mold growth. I would not let any contractor do any kind of temporary repair, add any device like a UV light or air-cleaning product until the aforementioned is corrected. I talk a lot about this in my videos and on my website. It is the result of improper system design from unqualified contractors. There is a reason why some guys cost more than others, and this is one reason why!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

There are varying opinions on the type of cleaning to have done on your air ducts.  My opinion is that it varies based on the type of duct work you have.  If you have solid material (typically metal) ducting you can have use a company that uses a brush to scrape the system clean.  If you have flexible plastic or foil ducts the solvent cleaners are generally a safer bet since the brushes often tear holes in the soft material and/or pull joints loose.  It really depends on what type on ducting you have.  You're ducts will collect all kinds of dirt, skin cells and allergens over time so if you see dicoloration around your vents it is probably time to get them checked and cleaned.

Also, don't stop at the duct work.  Don't forget your annual system check up by a licensed HVAC technician.  They'll make sure your system is running at peak performance, keeping it running efficiently and with as little impact as possible on your electric bill.  You can often save the cost of the annual tune up in the electricity cost saved.  If you have a natural gas system a bi-annual check and cleaning of the HVAC unit may be advisable to save electricity and gas.

if you have exhausted all of your choices I would call and put a complain in with the BBB then go to the DA and put a complain with them.  Then get a good lawyer and sue them for all you can get.

the answers in this on this page are all correct but you are using a bandaide to to cure the infection have a trust hvac tech open your system to see where the dust is coming from you more than likely have an impacted coil that need to acid wash to bring it back to oringinal anything left from the fire is still inbeded in that coil. just remember after that job to keep your filters clean change once a month in the summer and every two months in the winter.

Air Duct Cleaning reviews in Rochester

The whole experience was excellent! Within 2 hours of buying an Angie's list deal, I received a call from the company to set up a scheduling time that was convenient. The work was scheduled for about 2 days later. I asked a lot of questions and the company was really good about providing information about the size of the equipment and how it is used, who would be coming and suggesting that anything breakable be moved away from the vents. In addition the vents were also included in the price to be cleaned. The crew arrived on time and were extremely professional, careful and very neat. They made no mess, but still went back over the areas to make sure a second time. We were able to notice the difference in air quality the very first night. We have 2 forced air units with ducts and the deal was for 1, with unlimited vents connected. We probably could have added the second floor unit for a reasonable cost, but we just had too many items that were not packed away. We will do that unit as another purchase. I could not have asked for better work.
I have seen cheaper, but no one else with the consistent praise. This was money well spent.

I was a little surprised when just 1 guy showed up to do all the cleaning. I even asked him if he was expecting someone else to join him, which he wasn't. He proved to be diligent and hard working. He did all the cleaning and worked hard for close to 3 1/2 hours. Only issue I had was he didn't re-clean the electronic filter in the furnace. He cleaned it initially but after all the duct work cleaning was done he didn't recheck it. I did. I pulled them out and cleaned them. No biggie, but it made me realize just how much the ducts had needed cleaning!

The overall experience was decent. Would have been nice if the tech wore shoe covers when walking through the house, but that may be my only gripe. I thought the vents would be cleaned to a certain distance within using a brush of some sort, but they were cleaned using compressed air only. My expectations may have been a little bit off-base there, but only because the before & after images at the website show an improvement that could only have been made if a vent was scrubbed and not just blown out with compressed air. That being said, the tech seemed nice enough. Not much communication took place as a result of the language

, so I can't comment on how knowledgeable he was or wasn't...but he did seem to be thorough especially with the chimney sweep service.
In the future, I will probably make an effort to figure out the exact method a service provider uses to clean vents/ducts. Air compressors may be the norm, but I passed up all those $30 or $40 whole house air duct cleaning offers assuming that there'd be a more thorough cleaning. Keep in mind that I just made some bad assumptions and there was no false advertising...maybe some slightly misleading marketing though.
Either way, the air & dryer vents were "blown" and the chimney was thoroughly swept. I'm satisfied enough to go with US Air Ducts for the same service again if I can't find a more thorough service at a decent price elsewhere.

Went extremely well, from the start to finish. The office staff is very knowledgeable and the technicians that came out to my house were experienced and very helpful in explaining everything they were doing step by step. This company was very honest and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a "real" air duct cleaning.

Arrived on time and were very efficient. Did a great job in cleaning the glass and getting everything in great working condition.

put me in the schedule as soon as he could. They Called before they came, three guys showed up on time, removed their shoes, explained the service they provide and how the process was going to go, evaluated both systems and made solid recommendations for only the necessary work, completed the work and was very professional through out the process. I would use them agian they are good guys providing a quaility service.

They left alot dirt around several of the registers on the floor. They did not clean up all the registers and missed a couple. They charged a lot extra, about $300. They told me the deal didn’t cover anything! I paid it because they were already there but I wasn’t thrilled. It cost me a lot of extra work because I had to clean up after them and clean the registers they missed.
