Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Reviews

"I was told that they would complete the job in three days, so I gave them a check for everything up front. A week and a half later, they still had not pulled the permit and when I called them on it, they said the city did not answer their calls. I called and got an immediate answer that they had not left a message for anyone and had not been in. This happened 3 days in a row. When they finally did pull the permit two weeks later, I was told that there "fantastic" concrete crew were busy on another job and I would have to settle for the second string guys. For a month, I was given a story about how the bobcat was on another job, or needed repair. Finally, the Son of
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
's Floor sanding, whom was subcontracted by Stellar showed up at 4 in the afternoon and started moving the existing drivewas and digging footings. In the process, he broke several of the concrete cinder blocks holding up my house. When he left at 1:00AM, after annoying all my neighbors with th e sounds of his bobcat, he said he would be back the next morning. I called everyday for 3 weeks before he showed up again, this time at 6:00pm. He walked around with a ciggarette talking on the cell phone for 2 hours, and abruptly left. The next day he showed up at 6:30 pm, walked around for 2 hours again smoking on on his phone, but doing no work. Before leaving, he asked for $20 for gas money to get home. I had been calling and complaining to Stellar the whole time, alternating between the owner, the engineer, and the sales guy. The Sales guy was the only one who would answer. After a month and a half of calling daily and three delays, I the concrete finally showed up. Unfortunately, it got there before the guy doing the work, who still had about 8 hours of excavating for footings before he could unload it. The concrete was on thetruck 11 hours before it was unloaded, and by the time he got towards the end, he was on his hands and knees trying to push the now hard concrete into shape. Again, it was after midnight and he said he would be back bright and early. He didn't show up for a week. I pulled the forms off myself and saw large pockets and voids with no concrete as ithad already set up. I called and complaing for 2 weeks to get this resolved and finally had to get the help of the city inspector. Among the issues were that they did not add air to the concrete for the footings, they did not put in the wire mesh to support the concrete and keep it from cracking, the slab was graded to drain into the house, causing my basement to flood for the first time ever, and some footing were only 4 inches thick, not hte needed 8. After no answer upon no answer from the owner, the sales guy said he would send a different crew out to do the apron. Again concrete arrived and noone was there. Turns out the owner offered the original guy the

to do the apron, and the different crew were told not to come out. When I called and talked to the sales guy, he called the owner adn both crews showed up at the same time. The almost started fighting in my driveway. After they poured the apron, the original guy said he woudl stay and watch the concrete to make sure it stayed drive, and the rain had started falling. As soon as the other crew left, so did he. The other crew came by the next day to check on the aproln and I overheard them talking to the owner of

. I asked for the phone and finally got the ower to agree to pull out the slab that was wrecking my basement. He said the second crew would do the job. The promised to have it repoured before hte weekend was over, but it took another 2 weeks. In the process, they dug a large pit in the middle of my driveway to use for fill, causing problems upon problems with the new drivewas I woudl put in afterwards. Again, even though it was on my quote sheet and permit, they did not install the metal mesh to support the concrete. Before leaving for work, I made sure the had the forms in the right place. When I returned from work, I saw they had moved the forms to the original locations, so as not to have to redo the apron. Because of this, the slab was 3" longer on the right side and 1" short on the left. Not to mention it is 2" wider at the end as oppased to where ti touches the house. In addition, the skimed over the door sill into the existing garage, and graded the slab to run all water to the corner and not exit the garage. (this was because they pushed the form lower as well.) Because of this, the garage door of my new garage now rests half on smooth slab and half on the apron. There is, in fact, a 3" difference from one side to the other and no way to fix it. After jjust 2 months, the entire inside of the garage cracked due to no wire mesh. The 40 year old concrete in the old garage does not have a single crack.

I will never do work with them again and would not wish their shoddy workmanship and absolute lacj of customer service on anyone.

"I am extremely satisfied with
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
. From the initial estimate, it was clear that
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
knew his trade well. He made several observations and suggestions that none of the other companies we received estimates from had thought of. He kept me informed of when the work would be performed and was very flexible working with us and a decking contractor to pour footings for a new deck. We had multiple changes throughout the process and
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very accommodating to each and every one of them. Based on some conversations with his crew, I believe
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a bit of a perfectionist, but that served us well because it meant we ended up with a beautiful finished project. I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
to anyone and would certainly use them again in the future should I need additional work.

"No complaints. They did what was expected and at an economical price. Didn't try to talk me into a bunch of expensive stuff. They went above and beyond when I pointed out a sunken concrete step, they raised it for no extra charge."

f. Is very knowledgeable about concrete and fully explained what they would do. He was very prompt in returning phone calls. The last 13 ft of the driveway was installed at 5'' thick (instead of 4'') at no charge because

thought it needed extra support.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
made sure his crew did everything correctly. They did a good job of cleaning up and made sure to rope off the area.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
fit me into his schedule on very short notice. One note of caution: if you have a sprinkler system, make sure you know if the line runs under the driveway. When removing the asphalt, they unearthed the line and a connection came loose at the
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
of the driveway. They didn't think they damaged the line so they reburied it and poured the concrete. It turned out the line had been damaged but was repairable.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
offered to cover the cost.

"What a professional and efficient company.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and crew came on Monday--Took out all the old concrete (sidewalks & patio slab) by hand so that our yard and trees weren't destroyed by machinery and had everything finished by the end of Tuesday. All of the work was beautifully done.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
checked with me on details and then took care of everything expertly. The patio is amazing--I never expected to see something so beautiful where the old cracked concrete slab stood. He put an arch on it so it wasn't just rectangular and even a cut inner border that paralleled the shape. The color was perfect--they added variations to it with a powder and the slate stamping is beautiful. He left me with good instructions on how to take care of the 3 locations until the concrete has cured, and he said will be back in a month to put a second sealing on the patio.
Both my husband and I were so pleased. He loves his new front sidewalk that is now up to where it should be instead of sunken, and as I said, I love the patio.
We would recommend

to anyone!

"We contacted
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and two other contractors for a bid on replacing our asphalt driveway with concrete. I got
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
's voice recorder that assured me he would get right back to me. My phone rang within two minutes of leaving the message. Coincidence, maybe, but it made a heck of a first impression. He then told me he could come right over to look at it.
Two hours later we were discussing options for the new driveway. I wanted it a bit wider and tinted, and my wife wanted decorative borders.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
took some notes and said he would be back to us with an estimate soon. He did warn us that sometimes his computer generated estimates were confusing, and we found that they were. We got the estimate quickly, and it was a bit confusing, but
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
was happy to explain everything, so we selected him for the job.
The project started on a mutually agreed upon date, and was completed in the amount of time we were told to expect. It was a bit difficult not to be able to drive on it for ten days, but we knew that was going to be the case. The completed driveway looks great.
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew were great. They really worked hard -- I got tired just watching them. I would be glad to recommend
Maplewood Concrete Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
for your project.>
