"This company is great. Clay the owner, came to the house and provided at estimate for the work, and we scheduled a time for the work to be completed. His dad" came to assist and they did a great job removing the aspens and spruce tree, and ground the stumps so that I can sod over the area this spring. They also hauled away all the debris . I was very happy with their work and was also able to use an Angie's List '$200 big deal' coupon. They are very professional.

"
showed up in a timely manner. They were well organized and had a game plan on how to remove this very large tree. Each member of the team" knew their job so there was no shouting or cursing. This tree removal was difficult due to the house and a shed and other yard decor being in the way. They were able to cut down the tree without hitting anything or causing property damage. They made it look easy. Being a hands on home owner I am always finding myself always helping contractors. But with
I was so impressed with the work I was able to perform other household work as they were removing the tree. After thetree was removed, and the stump was ground down,They returned a few days later. To provide FREE top soil and grass seed. I was shocked that this was part of the service they provide. I used other companies in the past for the same service, BUT I was SO impressed with
that they will be my first choice for tree services in the future.

Hiring to trim trees? A how-to guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

Improper trimming leaves a dangerous situation for homeowners and can damage your trees.

Trees and above-ground power lines can safely coexist, with a little care.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

and his team were very responsive to trim my trees within days from when I called. I originally had one tree that was rubbing the shingles on the roof of my 2-story. I asked for an estimate on this tree. While performing the estimate,
Grand Meadow Tree Services Provider Name Locked
gave the recommendation to trim the tree right on my neighbors line. This tree would distract if left undone from the appearance of the trimmed tree. I talked with my neighbor and told
Grand Meadow Tree Services Provider Name Locked
to do both. His crew arrived and did a great job raising the canopy, clearing the dead limbs and treating cut limbs. I appreciate how his crew utilized fall protection and safety ropes as they trimmed the trees. Afterwards, they cleared and cleaned the debris with rakes and blowers. I did not have to do any cleaning behind them. They did a Great Job!

They arrived right on time and took less time than expected, a pleasant surprise! The two man team worked quickly and efficiently after a brief discussion to verify the work to be done. The men were very professional, personable, and knowledgeable. They took extra care not to trample on existing plants under the trees, which was greatly appreciated. Once the branches were on the ground they fed them into a large grinder and took away all the chips and debris.

the estimator was pleasant, quick and businesslike. We received another estimate for $5,000 (from artistic non-

, the owner, has 2

was certain they would use a bucket truck and the access road behind our house, and because their website was informative & intelligent.
On the day of service, the tree cutters (all licensed and fully trained, BTW) had no info on the access road and they said the bucket truck was tied up on another job. We were disappointed but gave them the go-ahead. Good decision: the trees look beautiful and balanced. The workers are true experts, climbed the trees with ropes, and lowered the larger/medium sized branches via ropes. They did eventually get their chipper on the access road to reduce their effort in removing branches & to avoid the need to drag heavy wood through the backyard & around the side of the house.
I**** I'd like to give them the "Page of Happiness" award. Did that go away from Angie's List?

We are repeat customers and very happy with The

work and attention to detail. We have a native garden in the front with some large trees, and a more traditional backyard with some very large 7 foot tall bushes and shrubs.
Grand Meadow Tree Services Provider Name Locked
listened to all our needs, especially with the native trees and shrubs and performed all tasks well. We prefer the careful hand pruning that this team uses so that the trees get a good cut that will allow trees/shrubs to grow back with a natural look.
It was a two day job. All the debris was reduced into a wood chipper and removed; our home site was left very neat.

Ordered Angie's List special deal for Tree Pro. Received communication from
Grand Meadow Tree Services Provider Name Locked
(owner) within one day and set up day for work review and estimate. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost for the amount of work I wanted done. Agreed on price and day for work to be complete which was within the week of first contact. Crew came out and did a wonderful job of thinning out and shaping the large trees in the front and back of my yard.

The young man that trimmed the tree and took out the other large tree did a fantastic job. He knows his business... There were huge limbs that had to be hoisted down to the ground. The other 5 men worked very well together seeing that the limbs made it safely to the ground and cleaned up debris... No issues at all! Did a fantastic job!
