Bloomington Real Estate Agents Reviews

"It was an awful experience. The only homes that we looked at were one my wife and I found online through the automated updates Edina Realty's system sent. When we would meet with her she was consistently 15 minutes late and would inevitably forgot some document or key code to get into the homes. She was very

about the fact that we needed to hurry through the last few homes so she could get to her bridge game on time, which happened on more than one occasion. The kicker happened during the home inspection once we finally found a home. As part of the initial contract we negotiated for her to represent us, she was supposed to pay for a home inspector of our choosing. After we reminded her of that she agreed to pay for it, we set up a time to meet with her and the inspector to go through the house. Despite having been reminded of the inspection, she did not let the homeowners know we were coming and

no showed to the inspection, so I had to write the check for the inspection. I called here immediately afterwards and she apologized -- apparently her nail appointment was running a little long. She said if I wanted to drive over to the salon she would pay me back for the inspection. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. She was absolutely worthless. The only thing she was good for was to get on Edina Realty's listserve e-mail system. We found the home, I am an attorney so I read all the documents to make sense of them, etc. How she has made it 20 years or whatever in this business is beyond me. I bought a home that I am happy with, but I do not accredit much of that outcome to

"Great! I don't think I've ever said I LOVE a person I do business with, but

and Taya were really extraordinary. They are great people, a joy to work with during the uneasy home selling period, provide first class service, AND

's construction experience was immensely helpful for us. I highly recommend him and his wife Taya. *Also, I read a previous review about

"We used

to sell our home after meeting him a few years ago at an open house. When we initially met with him, we were very impressed, he had his presentation down, and appeared to have done a lot of research on the house and the area, but we soon learned he was great at the song and dance, but not so great at the rest of the process. He encouraged us to list at a higher commission rate, insisting this would sell our house faster. After meeting with him, we agreed to put our house on the

2 weeks later, to allow time for us to get everything together and ready for listing. I asked more than once if there was anything I needed to take care of, such as any inspections, and he said no. He gave us very little direction on staging, or things to be done to the house prior to listing. On the day we had agreed to have the house listed, I got a call in the mid-afternoon from
Bloomington Real Estate Agents Provider Name Locked
, informing me that he had "just found out" that there was a Truth in Housing inspection required prior to being able to list, so we had to rush to get that taken care of, which delayed the listing. He'd previously insisted that he knew the city well and had sold other homes there, but it was clear that wasn't true, as he wasn't familiar with basic requirements of the city, I was also very disappointed that he hadn't taken time to double check this in the two weeks leading up to listing. Overall, he was not at all helpful at providing any direction or answering questions, if I asked for advice, he would turn it back on me, and say "it's up to you!" While I appreciate that the final decision is mine to make, it was my first home sale, and I was looking for some direction, which I did not get. In addition, we had discussed via email possibly dropping the price of the home, as an option to increase traffic, in the end, I indicated that I had decided NOT to drop the price, and he responded confirming he understood, only to discover the next week, that the price had been dropped without my knowledge or permission, or any of the appropriate paperwork being signed, and worse yet,
Bloomington Real Estate Agents Provider Name Locked
didn't notice it until I called to tell him! He took no responsibility for it, but rather blamed it on his office staff! He was difficult to communicate with, I found him uncomfortable to converse with, and had to constantly follow up with him, rather than him contacting me. When we finally got an offer, he had us sign the wrong portion of the paperwork, which again showed his lack of experience or knowledge. Overall, he did not come across as competent, or detail oriented. We had a lot of trouble with the buyers (an out of state real estate investment company that was trying to use some shady business practices),
Bloomington Real Estate Agents Provider Name Locked
was far too timid to represent us and stand up for us, I had to push him to follow up with the buyers' realtor when they had not provided the earnest money 3 weeks after the purchase agreement was signed and 2 weeks before we were scheduled to close. In the end, the buyers tried to back out the week prior to closing, without having provided earnest money, or having a valid explanation, fortunately,

advise looking elsewhere when you are in need of a realtor!!
