arrived promptly as scheduled. He was very professional and seemed to knowledgeable as to the problem. He was here for a little over an hour. The total cost of the service call before discount was $376.00(+/-). After discount, the total cost, was $341.00. I have no problem with the service performed, just the cost of it. At the time of the part replacement, I asked what the part cost and was told it would be $88.00. I know that appliance parts could be expensive, but was not quite ready for the end-cost. The service call was the $59.00 special through Angie's list. The part was $88.00, so the remainder of the cost was labor.

told me that he was constantly searching for the best prices for replacement part for the most cost-effective deals. The rest was labor costs. A bit over $200.00 before discount. To me, that seems a bit excessive, but the refrigerator DOES work much better, and is much better that replacing a $1500-1800 refrigerator. I did check several reputable appliance parts dealers(Kitchenaid,
Whitehall Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, and such), and the replacement part sold for $25.00 to $30.00, so not sure where

was getting his parts from(I still have the original part, so know I looked up the correct part). Again, I was very pleased with the quality of the service, just think it was a bit overpriced. In the above survey, I did indicate I would use

Appliance again, but after this, he probably would not want to do any work for us

Technician showed up on time, and called ahead as promised. He located the problem in my fridge/freezer immediately and got it working by a "re-boot" - unplugging and plugging it back in - "like you do your computer," he said. He also took the time to show me the part that might be faulty and said that he could put an order in for one. We did, and he took my credit card number for the charge.
We authorized the part by phone the next day and in a couple more days the main office phoned and scheduled the follow up installation. Since the fridge had been working for one week, we decided to not spend the extra $100+ for the new part, and phoned to cancel the appiontment and part and that was not a problem.
I was happily surprised that they did not charge my card until everything was completed...meaning our determination to not go beyond the initial service call...and so that is all we paid for. On THAT though....
and hardly worth mentioning except the box I am typing this in says "We want all the details" - I had a call back from

at the main office who told me that the card I gave the tech had been declined. I went over the number with her, and with a sort of "I have heard it all before" voice added "I did not enter the card wrong...if I did the credit card company would have told me." So, I gave her another card number which immediately went through (and she suddenly became pleasant again!). I phoned my credit card company after the call and discovered that though it was all written correctly by the tech on the receipt...that when processing it...she put in the wrong year (the current year, instead of the one written on the work ticket - which matches my card).
Again, the last paragraph is hardly worth mentioning, but since they asked.... Having said that, understanding that I have made worse mistakes,

is the best. He arrived within the specified time frame, diagnosed the problem and did the repair all within a reasonable amount of time. I don't know what the average pricing is for labor and parts, especially on a Saturday, but I suppose his pricing was fair for the work done. What I liked best?

took the time to explain the situation and made me feel comfortable... priceless. He also saw an issue with my dryer duct that he believed I could replace on my own.

told me what to by and exactly what to do. I went to a big box homestore, bought the parts and replaced the duct, no problem. Thanks

Variety was great, I will absolutely use them again when the need arises.
When our Samsung washing machine wouldn't drain, we first called another provider who came out and we thought fixed it but turns out they hadn't (see another of my reviews). I decided to go with someone else and was referred to

and

I called,

, the service tech, showed up right on time and nailed it. He was personable, knowledgeable, confident and most importantly skilled enough to complete the job. He clearly knew what he was doing, especially vs. the prior tech. He diagnosed the issue, confirmed it was a bad pump (after checking to make sure it wasn't just clogged), replaced it, and then tested the machine. Cleaned up after the repair as well.
Absolutely terrific service, great value, and I can't recommend
Whitehall Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
and the Variety team highly enough.

did not fix my problem with my washing machine. They came out and replaced the seal on the front of the washer due to mold or mildew being on it. It was not until after the technician removed it that he discovered a small hole. They said that was where the smell and streaks on my clothes was coming from. They also left a pump and motor here and told American Home Shield that it was defective. I actually have the pump and motor here and the washer is working without the new one installed because I just recently replaced it myself just over 1 year ago because it was cheaper for me to do it than to pay 75 bucks for the deductible, There was never anything wrong with it in the first place. I have an issue with the integrity of this company, mainly due to the fact that my family's clothes still smell like mildew. Therefore, mechanically the washing machine is not washing my clothes. They are not getting clean. The entire purpose of a washing machine is to get clothes clean. I would be very okay if someone could take the thing apart find out why it smells and fix it. In speaking with the technicians from the Appliance company it is very clear that it was not in their best interest to replace the machine because they would not get paid for additional work. I think this is a lack of integrity and is completely unprofessional. I would also like to state that I do not think that the entire issue was the technicians fault. It was ultimately the instruction he was given from his supervisor. He stepped outside to make the call to his supervisor and upon his return, he stated that he was instructed to do the work fully knowing that whatever he did would not fix the issue with the smell of mildew in my clothes. He himself could smell it and completely agreed that it was definitely an issue that he would not be able to resolve.

Washing machine was malfunctioning.

came on a Saturday (!) on a holiday weekend (!!) with no extra charge (!!!) to check out the situation. Advised us to change detergents (per error message in machine). When that didn't work, he came back twice to try two alternate fixes, the second of which worked. Only charged us one (!) call fee, plus labor and parts. Extremely reasonable and fair. Would use him again whenever needed!
