"Summary: This repair by
Troy Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
Chimney has caused serious new problems for me. Water leaks into the fire place now. Water never leaked into fireplace before and winter is starting.

The Chimney wash needed replacement. Three bricks needed to be replaced. The chimney bricks needed tug pointing.
The

chimney's estimate was good. The quoted price for new chimney wash (cement top) was in the middle of other estimates. Price for tub pointing and replacing three bricks as lower than others. So overall price was fine.
The quality of the work was not good at all.
The old loose cement and parts should have been removed from the old wash before pouring the new wash/top. This company just poured cement over the top of the loose pieces. I would have ignored this if they had done a good job with the tug pointing.
The quality of work on the bricks around the chimney shocked me. This company did cosmetic work of hiding mortar issues and made my problem worse.
My expectation and initial discussion with them was to use diamond point grinder to remove the bad mortar before pushing in new cement.
Water drips into the fireplace now. Water never dripped into the fireplace before. And winter is starting in Michigan.
The worst part is that their language now includes 4 letter words during phone conversations.

"I give straight A’s and A+’s for this place. It would be A+’s across the board except for two items I consider to be minor—

The handle connecting to the cable which pulls my chimney flap shut had to be removed for repair of the upper chimney. After the repair person replaced the handle onto the cable, it came loose after I tried it a few times. I feel this resulted from a poorly designed handle. I was able to fix it myself, so I didn’t have to call back the repair man. Had I called him, I’m confident he would have quickly come back for free to fix it and (unnecessarily) profusely apologized. As you can tell, I like these guys.

My other “issue” was that they

’t wear Tyvek suits. Maybe nobody in the chimney industry does so? Regardless, they were extremely careful (with clean plastic sheets) to keep my house perfectly clean. My concern is that the owner (= the worker) gets soot on himself and seemingly can’t wash it off between jobs, so it probably stays on his skin all day, and as far as I know this is mildly carcinogenic. Chimney sweepers in London had a super high incidence of cancer during the 1800's, according to my old college textbook. Maybe he’s the expert, and I’m an armchair crackpot...I hope so. Anyway, I’ve said my piece. If you want a job done with great pricing and promptness and courtesy, which will pass third party inspection, then this is your place!

, owner of D & S Masonry, Inc. came out to give an estimate on the repairing of two chimneys. His estimate was within my budget and very reasonable. Because of the rainy weather, his crew got a late start on the job, but did complete it to my satisfaction. They were courteous, professional and cleaned up after the work was completed. I have no complaints about this company and will have them back again to redo my patio and sidewalks. The job was well done and thanks for having them on your list of contractors. "

"They gave me a free chimney inspection within 2 hours of my call to their company. The owner himself dropped what he was doing to come check out the situation. There was water seeping into my attic from the chimney. He informed me why there was water and what needed to be done. My chimney was in really bad shape, and multiple brick rows needed to be completely replaced. There was also a couple things around the home that

threw in for me for free such as, a couple cracks in the driveway that he polyurethaned, and some caulking around a few windows. He performed the work over the next two days, despite how cold it was. His men were also very polite and they explained in detail what they were doing and made sure I was happy with the work before payment was made. *Also, at the time I wasn't sure if I could afford the job, he offered a payment plan over a three month period. I was really impressed by how kind-hearted this company was. They realized my economic hardship and worked with me because the work was really needed. Thank you

called Nosh and he arrived at the house approximately 1 hour later to give an estimate. Although his English is somewhat broken, I was impressed with his positive nature and he explained in detail what he proposed to do. He gave two prices, one with a stone cap (he explained that it would never have to be replaced later) and one without. I called him two weeks later and gave him the job. He called me the next day and arranged to arrive the next morning at 8am. He arrived at 8:03. He began work promptly and continued throughout the day. The neighbors noted that he never left the job and was there all day. When I returned home from work, he was still working at 5pm, setting brick and completing the stone cap. He washed the brick between courses and spread drop cloths on the ground and the

of the house to prevent mortar from sticking to the siding and getting in the landscaping. The mortar joints matched perfectly to the existing ones. He flared the top course to help with holding the stone cap, enhancing its look. He cleaned everywhere when the job was done leaving the area as clean as he found it. He was packed and ready to go home at 815 pm., a full day! To complete the job, he brought extra brick that matched the house brickwork. All of the neighbors commented on the job, noting that he did excellent work and was worth every penny that I paid him. My next door neighbor came out and asked him to provide an estimate for some work for him. While talking with Nosh, I learned that he has been doing stone, brick and tile work since he was 13, arriving in this country approximately 10 years ago. He obviously was a religious man, having a picture of

in his truck window. He did a great job and is very concerned about the quality of his work and satisfaction of his customers. I plan on recommending him to everyone in my office and friends, and when I retire to Georgia, bringing him there to work winters. Whether tile, brick or stone, I would recommend him and his work ethic. Guys like these are hard to find.

"I think this company did a very good job. They cleaned up after themselves really well. This company was also really polite and friendly. They listened to me about what I wanted done."

"Quality was outstanding and attention to detail quite high. Completed most of the work the same day, returning the next day to seal the brick and cleanup. The team was knowledgeable, quiet, and efficient. They knew exactly what mortar color to use, making the repairs seamlessly integrate into the existing brick work. Thy did not try to oversell me on repairs i didn't need. I would definitely recommend them!

"I would highly recommend
Troy Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
. They were prompt in answering my call and coming to an estimate for repair, which was reasonable and within the range of others we received. They impressed us from the start.

and his crew were courteous and cheerful - taking pride in their work and it shows in the final job. Their work is just not 'a patch job' The brick work is undetectable from the rest of the house which was a concern of ours. You really can't tell where the new is - that's how perfect they matched & repaired all of our crumbling brick and mortar. And our twin chimneys and porch are indeed pretty. I even added more work, dryer vent cleaning and part replacement, at the end of the job, which they performed and replaced happily and before the day was done. Call GREAY OAKS
