The deal stated that the company would contact me by a specific date and they did not. When Angie's list sent me an email asking if I had been contacted, I stated I had not been contacted. They must have reached out to the company directly because I received a response in my account inbox stating that I needed to call them to set up an appointment. Frustrating. The front desk was very nice and worked around my schedule to get someone out to my home. I had to reschedule a couple times and I appreciated her flexibility.
When it came time for the service, the technician came out and performed the service and provided a recommendation that we could probably upgrade to new rollers. Our main issue was that the light was not working and we wanted to get an assessment as to what was wrong with the light. He replaced the light with another bulb (which we had already done) and the light still does not work and we still don't have any assessment as to what is wrong with the light. He did want to stay and install new rollers and was prepared to do that service.
I wasn't overly thrilled with the price for services overall, but what really made me upset was the sticker I discovered placed over the existing garage door information for the company that installed the system when our house was built. I tried to remove their sticker and it tore off the underlying information. I never gave Champion permission to place this sticker on my garage wall and I most certainly would not have allowed them to put it OVER the existing information. That was very presumptuous on their part. They could have left the sticker with me or asked if I would like it put on the wall and where I would like it placed. This was not a courteous or professional action and a poor reflection of the company.

The garage door was acting up for about 3 weeks. It would stop closing and would prop open again. Well the garage door finally broke. We could not see what the problem was. We attempted to open the garage door manually but could not seem to get that working either. I was very distraught, we had appointments that we would not be able to keep and needed to reschedule I immediately called Authentic Garage doors. The office rep was very helpful and had someone come out to our home within the next 2 hours.. I have to tell you that I am pleased with this vendor, especially since there was no charge for the fix. They took full responsibility for not installing the spring to a stud in the wall. They did not charge us anything. This is why we will use them again. I do have to mention that the representative that was sent needs to go to customer service class. When I opened the door, I was confronted by an order to move the cars out of the garage. It took me a second to realize who he was. I then mentioned I could not get the garage door open. He said he already did it and walked away. He was at his truck cutting materials when my husband and I approached him. I asked him if he knew why it broke and he told me to calm down. I looked at my husband and walked inside. My husband then asked him if anything else needed to be moved for him and he told him to get out of the garage because it was dangerous. As my husband was going back inside, the representative said that he was not going to be able to fix it. He was going to have to call the guy that came out before (1 year ago). My husband went inside and said to give the rep some space - he seemed overwhelmed. There was a lot of loud bangs and bumps. When he knocked on our garage door, we came out. He was already walking away to his truck when he said it was fixed. I asked if the other parts of the garage door opener looked o.k.. He didn't stop walking and said yes. I asked what did we owe him. He said nothing. Before he drove away, I asked why is there no charge? He said because the job was not completed correctly last year. As he drove down the street, I told my husband, we do not even have a slip to show the work that was done today. I do not even know the individual's name so I can make sure to ask that we do not have him service our garage door in the future. I hope the company does something. This type of experience could result in bad publicity.

I called at 1:22pm and the repair was completed before 3pm! Yes, 1 hour and 38 minutes from call to completed repair! Great Professional Service to boot! Price was excellent. The quoted price was the final price paid. The tech tried to upsale to a larger double spring and new rollers but wasn't pushy about it when I declined. Gave the door and opener a tune up after installing the new spring and it is working better that ever! I highly recommend this company for this common repair.

I purchased this Angies deal last Sept. 2013 and they came out to paint in October.I never really inspected the job as we had to leave the area the day before the work was to be done. When we returned the weather was not great and I never really got around to inspect it until I noticed in the spring that a small amount of spots had thin areas of paint.I called

even though it had been well over 6 mths since they completed the job.He treated me as if it was only yesterday and sent men out to my home to inspect and complete whatever was bothering me.That is the highest level of integrity.I highly recommend using them for ANY work needed.

Saturday afternoon at 4:30 my spring snapped on my garage door. Called them because of good reviews not really expecting anyone. Got

, one of the owners, who answered. Explained what was going on. He was trying to wrap up his long day and go home, but he said was in the area and would take a look. He stopped by within 15 minutes. Looked it over gave me an estimate which I agreed. I thought he'd come back monday. He grabbed all the parts off his truck and knocked it out in 30 minutes. Even took time too fine tune, balance, and adjust the door and opener.
I'm not sure I have ever had such a good experience with any repair, ever. Unbelievably good experience. Really above and beyond.

The 'Big Deal' offered thru Angie's List was $349 for a new Garage Door Opener. The kid that came out was quick and neat. He installed it with no problems but stated this price came with only 1 Remote Garage Door Opener. So I had to pay an additional $30 (plus tax) for a second one. Also installed a Remote Keypad access, which has proved invaluable. He used the existing wiring so it didn't take him long. Wish he would have installed the wall door opener a bit more securely, but otherwise the install was fine.

They "repaired" it well enough, and were there the day after I called. However, 3 days after the "repair", one of the springs broke. It happened on a Saturday: a day where they don't work. So, we had to call someone else, since my husband's car was stuck inside the garage.

He installed the device in about 1 and a half hours. He said my door needed new rollers because the old ones were rusted and would not run smooth. I said that would be fine. When he was almost done he called me out to the garage to inspect the work but he couldn't get door to go up and down without stopping. I left him to work on it but he could not correct the problem. He ended up calling someone else to help him out a more senior worker with more service time than him. This person got it going in a short time said the other guy just didn't tighten up all the bolts. It works very well i am very happy with it.. This is my first door opener. The workers were very nice and professional.

I bought the $89 "deal" for new rollers and a tune-up/inspection. My springs needed adjusting and I was hoping the new rollers may quiet down the door operation. The FIRST thing that

from Precision starts telling me is that my springs are too old and they're likely to break. I explain to him that my door does NOT get that much usage (low cycles) since I'm the only person here and I usually park in the driveway. I told him I did NOT want to replace the springs - They just needed to be adjusted. After replacing the rollers, he would NOT adjust the springs for the $89 that was originally paid for the deal. He wanted to charge me a couple hundred dollars ON TOP OF the $89 I had already paid for what I considered part of a standard tune-up. I told him no thanks, I will do it myself - I'm not paying hundreds extra just for a spring adjustment. So, when he was done with the rollers, he just left. After a short while (maybe 1/2 hour or 45 mins), he called back and said he could do the spring adjustment for $120. Adjusting the torsion springs can be tricky, so I said "fine" come back and adjust them.
This is the bottom line: They used the Angie's list deal to "get in the door" and try to sell unnecessary items (the springs), and would NOT perform standard a tune-up task (adjusting the torsion springs) for the initial $89 dollars.I would not certainly look for other companies rather then use them ever again.
PS: Two years later, the torsion springs are fine due to the low usage of the door.
