"This was the worst experience I have ever had with an Angie's List contractor--and I have used many. In fact, all of the work I've had done over the last 9 years has been" from someone I found on Angie's List. So I'm no newbie with higher than reasonable expectations. I bought a Deal for 4 hours of handyman service for wood rot repair. I purchased this on 6/27/14. It took weeks to make an appointment, and then
was a no-show more than once. Additionally, he promised us a proposal, which I had to ask for, and they finally provided on 8/27--two months after I purchased the deal. I decided to go with the proposal, even though it did not include a time or cost estimate; rather only an hourly rate. What a mistake! After I returned the proposal, I did not hear from them for several weeks. Finally, I called to try to get my money back because this had been going on for so long. At first, the receptionist tried to tell me that they were booking more than a month out. When I asked for my money back, she told me they could be there the next day (Hmmm--I wonder who they blew off for that speed?). They arrived on time, and were very personable. However, I told them to start on the stairs and then check back with me on the rest of the work that could be done. They did the entire thing without checking in. A couple days later I received an invoice. I was completely surprised, and I should NEVER be surprised by an invoice. This included $466 for materials, which I know they didn't use up. I saw the men loading up extra wood and materials into their truck afterwards. Yet I was expected to pay for everything they bought. They didn't leave me any leftovers. Additionally, they charged $910 above and beyond the deal I had already paid for in labor. Again, this was for work I didn't authorize, and for which they gave me no clear time estimate. When I called the owner to complain, at first all he did was defend the company's actions, by implying that I had approved everything and that it all was standard procedure. Then, while calling me honey,
, and sweetheart, he finally agreed to waive the materials charge. I will pay for the labor they expended. I thought all was done. But wait, there's more. I got an email today, about a week after I received the invoice (and a couple days after i had the conversation with the boss about the bill), asking me to send the money right away, or they would pick up a check tomorrow. Really? After all that, they wanted to hound me for the money, though most invoices are net 30? Really. yes, that's the way they played it. I will never use this company again, and I do not recommend them in the least. The work seems to be well done, but I have no real way to know that yet.

"A large plumbing job, in this case conversion from electrical heat to natural gas, leaves a number of places where the old heat wiring was and provides new places where gas registers" are placed. In short, the cosmetics of the old and new systems are poor and highly visible. He, through dry-wall, carpentry, staining, etc. provided a finish to the work that were not part of the plumbing job.

"I love my new staircase! It looks beautiful and it's exactly what we wanted.
and his crew were very polite and extremely professional. They arrived every" morning on time, worked quietly and efficiently until early afternoon. They cleaned up every day before leaving. This was extremely important to me because we have a child and an animal.
did a fantastic job. They obviously take a great deal of pride in their shows.

Contracting reviews in Kinross

From the moment I heard from the owners, I knew that this would be a great company to work with. The care they took in preparing the proposal was amazing. My main contact was
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I was impressed with the time she took to research some of the fixtures we had discussed before moving forward with a proposal. She also had several suggestions for us based upon our needs and budget. I had to make arrangements for the bathroom remodel for my parents house even though I lived several states away. They took care to meet every expectation and communicated extremely well before, during and after the remodel. They also made it easy to understand step by step what they would be doing by providing a timeline and detail of what would be happening each day. They communicated with me daily and I received pictures at the end of each day that showed progress. On site, they communicated with my Mom and sisters who were there for each day of the project. Mom found them so easy to work with that she actually looked forward to their arrival each day. After they finished the project, she told us that the house felt a little empty without them. The job started and ended on time. They gave us a timeframe of 8 workweek days and not only met the timeframe, but made up some time on the weekend because of some changes that we made before the project ended. The price they quoted was reasonable and I was impressed that the people we had been working with during the proposal stage were also the same people we saw day to day working on the project. They were easy going, showed up on time each day and made significant progress each day, just as their timeline had projected. Additionally, they kept a very neat job site and cleaned up at the end of every day. I give this company my highest recommendation.

They did the work I requested and advised me what was required and showed me the rotten wood pieces. With the roof
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
took pictures of the holes and showed me so that i knew he was not trying to rip me off. As he said " I am not a roofer " but he did get a tube of roofing tar and caulked the holes he found and also a seam in one of the valley's which looked bad. They were on time and they cleaned up afterwards and you would not know they were there. They did an excellent job and when my wife came home she looked at the work and was impressed and she is not easy to impress. I would recommend them and I am planing to use them again on another project on the interior this winter.

contractor was impossible to get in touch with and did not respond in a timely manner to messages. After two months of trying i contacted Angies list.

In the summer of 2013 I bought a large 1906 single-family home that had until recently been occupied by a couple of
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
-head squatters. The house had great bones but needed a ton of work: electrical, plumbing, sheet rock, refinished floors, new kitchen, new bathroom, new furnace--pretty much everything.
This project took more than a year, cost about $200,000, and involved dozens of contractors and laborers. I hired people at all price points--everything from day laborers to guys from Craigslist to people with excellent ratings on Yelp and Angie's List.
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
was one of the least expensive people I worked with. I found him on Craigslist and was skeptical at first. He looks pretty raggedy and drives a beat up car. But he has ultimately become my go-to guy for almost everything. He does better work than many of the far more expensive and well-known contractors I dealt with but charges a fraction of the price. He has many years of experience and is very knowledgable about the trades and local code. Most important, he's completely honest. He stands by his work and will stick with a job until he gets it right.
I can recommend
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock, painting, and window repair and replacement. This is all stuff that he did for me quite extensively, and it all turned out really well.
He's a one-man operation and he's not a fast worker. I usually work with him by the bid instead of by the hour. Sometimes he fails to show up at the promised time. But this is a small tradeoff for working with someone who knows what he's doing, is reasonably priced, and is a good person.
The house is now completed and was instantly rented out. It's one of three residential properties that I own. I will continue to use
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
for all of my handyman needs.

We are very please with our remodel experience. The original project scope was a kitchen remodel and removal of the wall between our kitchen and living room. As the project progressed we added hardwood floors and paint for the kitchen/living room area. Even with the added work

replaced a large picture window with three smaller windows, replaced many split or rotting clapboards, removed a problematic back porch overhang, and repaired the damage caused by that structure. He also helped us redesign our front entry, working within the existing footprint and completely transformed what was a fairly lackluster entry to the house, with unevenly spaced columns, into something special.
He took our ideas and made suggestions - like using cedar shingles for the facade to add some visual interest. When we couldn't envision how exactly we could 'fatten up' skinny columns, he told us about a house in the area that incorporated lattice into the column treatment and we figured out how to adapt that basic idea for our front entry.
He is professional, reliable, and his cheerful, open good humor make him a delight to work with.
During the construction there were several decisions to be made, and
Kinross General Contractors Provider Name Locked
's advice was a big help at every stage of the project.
We would definitely hire him again.
