Business Description: Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services matches seniors who want to provide help with seniors who are looking for help. We started in 1998 with a simple concept that seniors can help each other age better and that those who give and those who receive benefit equally. As an innovative, intra-generational companion service that functions exclusively with and for seniors, we provide: * An experienced and credible resource for older adults who want to stay in their own homes * Full-range of home care, companion and home maintenance support services from seniors who enjoy helping * Reasonable hourly rates for seniors who want services and reasonable hourly wages to seniors who provide them The number of seniors working for us varies on a monthly basis depending on how many clients we are serving. Sometimes when people call us they asked if we are licensed...the state of Michigan does not have a license for non-medical in home care companies. With that being said, we do a three step interview process with all of our providers which includes criminal background checks, employment and personal reference checks and even a review of their driving record. We are also bonded and insured. We do find many of our providers through our connections with area churches...we have found that churches are one place that we can find loving, caring and compassionate seniors who are looking for a way to fill up their free time, help others and supplement their retirement income. Many other home care companies do charge $0.50 or more per mile for transportation. We do NOT have a mileage charge when we provide transportation. We simply add a couple dollars an hour to our rate to give our providers gas money...or we charge our normal low rate if we drive your vehicle. Seniors Helping Seniors is a way to give and to receive. For your senior’s personal care, when you can’t be there.® For the help you want at a price you can afford.® Like getting a little help from your friendsTM
