"This provider was very professional, Very responsible and trustworthy. We have used his services twice. We flipped our first home and upgraded the second doing basically the same things." Replaced flooring, kitchen counter tops with new granite and painting.
is the president and he is always on time and very attentive to the needs of the customer. We have referred him to friends, family members and co-workers and all have been satisfied. We have another property we are soon to be working on Feb 2015, and his team has already taken a look at it and given us a quote on services.
and his team are very nice to work with, and my biggest worry was that not all construction workers are.
and his team are most definitely trustworthy and get the job done right and are respectful people as a whole. He also crown molded my stairs which is a very tedious job at hand and it came out great! Very pleased with this company as we continue to use these services. I highly recommend them.

"Went well. They did ask for a eggshell finish but the brand only had satin in the paint we desired. It did come out with more
than we wanted, but
" 's work was done well. Flat would have looked better, but the satin did cover better. They did 3 coats in the time they were here (2 persons for one day was the deal). Included prep, masking, caulking, and painting. They used spray on the largest expanses and that was brushed in - brushes for the trim and detail.

That's very difficult to answer without seeing the house. As one poster said, the prep is the most important part. On newer homes that don't have a lot of peeling paint, the prep can be very minimal even as low as a couple or a few hundred dollars for the prep labor.

On a 100 year old home with 12 coats of peeling paint on it, then the prep costs can be very high and can easily exceed 50% of the job's labor cost.

A 2100 sq ft two story home could easily cost $1000 just for the labor to prep for the paint job. That number could climb too. Throw in lots of caullking  or window glazing, and you could be talking a couple or a few hundred dollars more for labor.

Painting that home with one coat of paint and a different color on the trim could run roughly $1000 or more just for labor. Add a second coat  and that could cost close to another $1000 for labor.

For paint, you may need 20 gallons of paint. You can pay from $30-$70 for a gallon of good quality exterior paint. The manufacturer of the paint should be specified in any painting contract. Otherwise, the contractor could bid at a Sherwin-Williams $60 per gallon paint and then paint the house with $35 Valspar and pocket the difference. $25 dollars per gallon times 20 gallons? That's a pretty penny too.

That was the long answer to your question. The short answer is $2000 to $4000 and up, depending upon the amount of prep, the number of coats, the amount of trim, and the paint used.

Hair spray is one of those things that is really bothersome.  We've run into this alot unfortunately.  And NOTHING we've found will actually clean it off.  The problem is that if you just paint over it, you still see shiny spots wherever the hairspray was.

Our companie's policy is to prime the area with any bonding primer.  This will seal the hairspray in and not let it affect the next coat of paint.  It would also be a good idea to lightly sand the area first.

Our recommendation for primer would be Zinsser's BIN Spray (red can) and can be bought at most paint stores or home improvement stores.  Other than that, any thing that specifically says "bonding" for a primer should be adequate enough.

Without seeing the project I'm not sure exactly what is happening.  HOWEVER, I've never heard of someone "floating" over paint blisters - just logically that can't work.  If air or moisture are trapped (because that's what causes blisters) painting over them won't fix the initial problem.

I have a couple suggestions - My first would have been to contact the paint manufacturer - whether it's sherwin williams, benjamin moore, behr, etc. to see if they would send a rep out to give their recommendation.  We have done this before starting a project to get the best possible recommendation for work to be done and have found them to be very helpful in diagnosing what is currently going on and the best way to fix it.

If that doesn't work, I would call either the better business bureau or maybe the local paper if your contractor isn't willing to work through the problem with you.  Also, If your contractor warrantied the work I might re-read that to see what they cover if anything.

My guess is that there will have to be some sort of dispute resolution process.

Hope this helps!

Yes - absolutely!  Refinishing is THE VERY BEST way to go to avoid tearing out a perfectly good bathtub that just LOOKS bad after years of use.  Go to the link below for some before and after refinishing pictures of acrylic tubs.

They got here late and they left the launch and the cabin down. They were difficult to work with and I did not get the full use of it. I did not pay extra. They did not give me the refund. I did not get the full big deal. They were not at a professional level that I am used to with other providers.

I have personally worked with a small team from
Gaylord Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
beginning in January 2013 through current. This team is made up of a carpenter who is excellent with exterior repairs as well as building patio gates, caulking and painting. He has had at least two other individuals working closely with him during this time frame. They are a team and work well together. The guys are professional, will listen to input from me. Our community has been impressed with their professionalism and often owners have requested this team to perform personal work such as painting doors. living spaces, garages etc.

This major repair project still has one year remaining on the contract and we look forward to our continued good working relationship after this project is completed.

One thing that is critical to the success of any project is:
Make a list of specifications - what you want done, how you want it done and the materials you want used. BE SPECIFIC!
Negotiate your price
Get a contract

I personally highly recommend
Gaylord Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
for your exterior painting and repair needs.

The cabinets and new drawer and door fronts: It was obvious that he took shorts cuts. He told me me he was going to sand existing cabinets, clean before spraying first coat. He said he was going to sand between coats -( this is standard practice for this type of work to achieve smooth results). He cleaned with TSP and proceeded to prime - no sand. I never saw any sand paper until the following week only after we complained about bumpiness. A lot of areas he didn't bother caulking as he said he was planning to do. He did not properly sand between coats as there were many doors and drawers fronts that had particulates all over them - they looked bumpy and felt bumpy. Not smooth like he told me they would be. We had him redo many and he proceeded to sand aggressively to remove bumps - resulting in deep scratches that were difficult to cover with the the new coat of spray. A lot of areas around existing cabinets in the kitchen were not touched at all by primer or paint. He did not go back to recheck with a fine brush to fix these areas. I will be doing this myself now as I have lost complete trust.

The newly installed moulding - same issues. Particulates, deep scratches from aggressive sanding, on and on.
Things he quoted saying include: "I don't have patience for fine detail work." And, I was around a corner in my house and I over heard him say to his helper; "F**# it, this is faster." I walked around the corner and over to him and he was clearly surprised I was right there.
There were days he was gone -obviously do another job - leaving his poor helper by himself. Then end result here was the entire job took ridiculously long and both of them were rushing threw all my expensive moulding and doors. His helper told me he had to tell him to "slow down." The end result - sloppy workmanship at our expense.
Bottom line: Go elsewhere. There are a lot of painters out there. This painter overextends himself - more concerned about booking as much work as possible to make the most money. He rushes because he's stressed about getting to his next job - which he later admitted to me. My cabinet installer also pointed out to me all the things this painter missed and all the flaws.

arrived the week before to review the work and the types of paint that we wanted. We scheduled the day for the next week. He arrived on time and completed all the work within 5 hours. He was neat and completely cleaned up the space after the job. He did additional caulking around the walls and the backsplash. I would use
