Ferndale Insulation Contractors Reviews
The work was scheduled two weeks later. The two workers that
other issues such as mold, critters and other things we might not think of. Thecoupon stated that the usual cost of the attic inspection was approximately $300. Based on our experience at that price it would be a MASSIVE RIP off. Quite frankly, we felt it was a waste of money at $99.
The sales associate who came out ( I can't remember his name) was initially very punctual, professional and knowledgeable. However we purchased their service to have an attic inspection with a full printed report. He was also going to give us quotes on new gutters. Of the 2 hours he was there, he spent an hour on the roof writing up paper and thinking of ways we could fool the insurance company
to get a new roof, since there had been a hail storm in our area. He indicated we should call him when our insurance adjustor came out so he could "surprise" him. Fact is, our roof is fine and we weren’t looking for a new one. We wanted to feel safe about
our attic and have a full report.
The next 15 minutes he spent examining the gutters and writing up the quote.
He then started the attic inspection, which took him less than10 minutes. We have a closet entrance attic that is not super accessible but 10 minutes seemed short for $99... let alone $300 at full price. We received no printed report from him, he just said that we had less than 4 inches of insulation (which we knew) and the "from what he could see" everything else seemed to be fine.
He then spent the next half hour trying to sell us insulation after writing it up. At this point we just wanted him to leave so bad and felt so uncomfortable, that when he asked if we cared about the printed report we said no. We weren't sure how much longer that would have kept him in the house trying to get us to sign the new roof paperwork and get the installation set up for the insulation.
We have a 960 sq. foot brick ranch that is just one level. The gutter quotes w/o replacing the wood behind them were about $1,750 with replacing the rotten wood, it was about $2,500. Found a different company on Angie’s list that did the gutters and replaced rotten wood for $750.00
The insulation quote he gave us was for $2,750 on the low end!! We laughed out loud. He tried to explain how and why we needed some
These prices were about 40%-50% more than the other company we found.
Based on our terrible experience we would not ever recommend this company AND CERTAINLY NOT THE COUPON.
We also felt the price for the job was very fair."
I had done some additional work to open the dead space over the front porch to expose the lower half of the upstairs wall. That was key! Virtually completely open walls opened into the entire front of the first floor ceiling!
I had an 80% reduction in air infiltration from their work and was just above the threshold where mechanical ventilation is required!!! That's amazing for a 1924, 1500 ft^2 bungalow!
