"
was the first craftsman to respond to us. He came out immediately, gave us a fair price estimate, and upon approval, scheduled our job within" a week. He did a great job for us, and the fireplace looks fantastic.

"They arrived promptly, did their work and cleaned up after they were done. They also provided the brick to fill the openings. The work was very professionall done." Getting in touch was more difficult, I suspect, because this is a small business, one or two man, and the owner does not return phone calls as fast as most people would like. Once we connected, all went smoothly.

Fireplaces

Most people enjoy sitting in front of a fire on a cold day, but traditional, wood-burning fireplaces come with a few disadvantages. They tend to waste energy, require maintenance and pose some risk. Read this guide to discover several alternatives that provide the same ambiance, but with fewer downsides.

Dear Angie: How much can I expect to pay to have my wood fireplace converted to gas? Our house is about 30 years old. The bottom of the fireplace looks like it's easily accessed through the basement. The conversion would involve running 30 to 50 feet of gas line. — Thomas M., Cincinnati, Ohio

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

A very stressful day. First, when the installers and the sales rep arrived, we were told that we had not ordered granite for the desk and side counter when in fact these areas had already been templated. We felt that this was a ploy to get more money out of us, especially when the salesman( a totally disorganized man) left to retrieve the missing granite. I am sure that the missing pieces were not cut the same day as the installation. In addition, out cabinets were damaged during installation. In addition, when I prepaid the bill in full prior to the installation,I asked ifmy countertop gas burners would be reinstalled as I knew that the faucet for the sink would not be,I was told absolutely "yes." This sales rep just tells you what you want to hear. Then when the truth is exposed, he looks at you like you are lying or have ten heads.Overall, a very stressful experience. We will never use
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
again.

Have two fireplaces from different manufacturers. Couldn't find a service provider that wanted to do both, but was referred by one of them, ironically, to DeCerio's, as someone that would be willing to work on all makes. Didn't want to have to have separate appointments for each fireplace so this was great. Called DeCerio's and received a prompt call-back for scheduling my appointment.
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
was punctual on the day of the service call, and was very friendly and professional in the performance of the work. He provided some tips for maintaining the fireplaces in top working order as he worked on them. He even went the extra mile, calling the manufacturer of one of the fireplaces to find out about one of the features on the remote control that should have been intuitive but was not. He called me the next day to advise me of the feature solution, which I was able to address myself. It's very rare to find someone that cares that much about the work that he performs and his customers. You can tell that he enjoys the work that he does, and the people he meets. I also believe that the work was performed for a fair price. I would highly recommend FR DeCerio.

Last year I found a different company to clean my chimney. He told me that my
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
was improperly installed, a fire hazard, and my insurance company would not approve the installation. They had not put in enough
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
pipe to reach the end of the chimney. What happens is that the last few feet that is short causes a temperature change and creosote forms. I was not sure if this service person was correct. At the same time my husband was undergoing cancer treatment, and I forgot about the chimney until we had a ice storm, that took the chimney top off the stovepipe. I climbed on the roof to wire it back on I was exactly what the previous service person was referring to as my

being unsafe.
I did not use the

any more because the weather warmed up. I recently went by
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Home to discuss the installation. I spoke to a man in the office. He assured me that they would be right out to check out my chimney and make sure it was safe. I am not surprised that they did not show up. I called five times to re-schedule. The first four times

More than likely they will never show up for your appointment. If they do, beware, getting the job completed will be very challenging if not impossible.
We have used
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
dating back about 8 years and at 4 different properties for numerous exterior home repairs large and small. Originally, we used this them based on a referral from trusted family friend. The prices were always good and
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
seems very knowledgeable and experienced. Unfortunately, we have run into a number of issues over the past couple of years and we will no longer be using their services and can only recommend that others stay away as well. In late 2013 we called
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
for chimney evaluation, repair, and
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
pointing of the chimney and other areas.
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
informed us he could do the roof work that we needed as well. We had a number of issues with the job not getting done in the time frame that we were told but we were used to this and the price made it worth the hassle. We paid
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
in full upon completion of the work. After this job it became very difficult to get a hold of
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
for other jobs we needed done. He would miss appointments for bids on numerous occasions and when he did bid a job he would not show to start the work as promised. The excuses were too numerous to list (often times he "forgot") but there were multiple jobs that
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
promised to do and never showed up. We would push the start date again and again until it was clear he was never going to show up so we would find someone else to do the work. About 1 year after the roof was complete we started getting water leaks into the house in two areas. One area was at a plumbing vent stack. I informed
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he agreed to go look at the problem area. In typical fashion it took weeks and weeks to get him out there after many promised appointments and many no shows. Eventually, we called a reputable big name roofing/chimney service to check the leak and do an entire property evaluation. What they discovered (and have the photographs to proof it) is that
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
never completed much of the work we had paid them for and we were told was completed. None of the 4 vent boots were replaced. None of the chimney flashing was replaced. Much of the
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
point work was left in complete with actual large holes left in the chimney mortar. None of this is visible from the ground due to the height and position of the house and chimneys. With photo evidence in hand we convinced
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
to finish the job that we had paid him for a year prior. Once again there were excuses and broken appointments. There were no less than 15 appointments that
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
set to do the repairs yet did not show up. Eventually, he claimed the repairs were done but this time we knew better than to trust him. With additional photographs taken of work that had still not been done he admitted that he lied about doing the work and offered to finish the work. I'm not able to expend this amount of effort chasing and double checking contractors. I will gladly play more in the future for honesty and integrity.

Quick response from
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
lead to same day service from Nick. Being new to owning a wood burning fireplace, I just wanted to talk to someone about what how the fireplace worked and options to convert to a gas. Nick did a chimney check with a camera and was straight forward with that everything looked good, no issues and no cleaning was needed at this time. Nick replaced the gas pipe and extended it slightly. He answered all my questions big and small (and some maybe even dumb, but he was very polite and professional). I was extremely pleased with the service. Would recommend and will call
Belding Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
for all my future Fireplace needs.
