"Oh my gosh! It couldn't have gone better! One of the things no one tells you is that when you sell your house and move into an apartment (an independent" living facility in this case), the only way you can sell estate items after someone
is to have it moved somewhere else first, and that can be a huge expense! The best and quickest way we found to get that done was to call an auction house, have them pack and move the things, and auction them off individually. It was VERY important to me to find someone who was willing to take everything and not leave me with the less desirable things to get rid of on my own.
was recommended to me by several people in
(I don't live there, so this was all new to me), so I gave them a call and agreed to have them handle the auction. They charged only 25% which is pretty amazing. They arrived on time, packed and labeled everything in the apartment, and moved everything to their auction facility where they sorted it, labeled it, and staged it for the auction. When they left the apartment, it was empty. A few days later, they held an auction with the contents of two or three states including my stepmother's. I decided to go just to see how it worked, and it was fascinating. They were efficient, honest, and without a doubt, they knew what they were doing! A couple of weeks later, a check arrived in the mail along with a complete list of everything they'd sold (including the price it sold for). The check I received was much larger than I expected, even after they'd deducted the moving and auction expenses! A couple of notes to others thinking of doing this: (1) I was advised that it would be a better choice to sell these things on consignment rather than selling everything to the auction house directly, and that was absolutely true. (2) Some auction houses charge to appraise the estate before they decide to auction it off.
does NOT do that. They came over and looked at everything without charging me a single cent. I could not be happier that
was the company I chose. What could have been a real nightmare turned out to be a very easy process. Thank you,
and the entire staff at

"A picture was sent with the query. Me: "Is this a refrigerated wine storage unit?" Mr.
: "this will be sold on Saturday" at auction at 4pm. It will be sold to the highest bidder."
. Of course it will be sold to the highest bidder, but was my question addressed? Since the auction house is not convenient to my part of town, I now know that I needn't bother to come, since I don't know what, exactly, is being sold.

Auction reviews in Alto

It went very poorly. He took several of my items to an auction in West Texas. Things like Indian artifacts, a statue pair, a deer lamp I made, a

lamp, and several cowboy hats and boots, and an expensive leather jacket that was never worn. He returned most of the items ruined. The two Indian Statues had a chip. He brought back the deer horn lamp with a nasty scratch on the shade. The brand new leather jacket had scratches on it. He sold the

lamp at a cheaper price (He claimed it was broken, which it wasn't). He said he would make good on the damage he caused, but he never did.

When he came back, he started to take inventory my glass (I've operated a stained glass business for 40 years, my garage was loaded with stained glass and supplies). He was supposed to sell items in my house that I was thinking about moving, and possibly the house itself. But I decided I wasn't going to sell the house, I'm going to let my daughter make that decision. That disappointed him. He had me moving several items outside (Even though I'm on oxygen). Come to find out, he sold several objects on the internet without my permission. Then he wanted a very expensive turtleback

lamp. I told him I wanted $400 for it. He said his helper wanted to buy it, but if not that he would buy it. When he totaled everything up in the end, there was a 30% taken off the price for the lamp.

When everything was said and done, he gave me a check for $1348. The check was not signed. I contacted him to get him to sign it. He said that I could sign his name for him. He provided a check the next week when I refused to forge his signature. Then I called him about compensating me for the damages. He thought I was griping too much so he dropped out of the auction, which was fine with me. But I was left with a 12'x60' POD that was 3/4 full of things that he took out of the garage to make room to sell the glass, and he told me that it is up to me to take care of it. I had to hire someone to help me empty that POD to return it on time, which made it very difficult on me. I hope no one would have to experience what I have through this Auctioneer. I am now very leery about using ANY auctioneer.

They have a wonderful reputation! They came out and packed everything up and took it to his showroom and was willing to hold on to my belongings. He was much more helpful. Has sent two huge vans and is moving my belongings to his showroom. He is going to wait a week after a festival to allow his regular customers to come take a look. He was concerned about what was right for me rather than his business.
- Karen S.

They arranged all of the items beautifully for sale, and priced them appropriately (i.e., high enough to maximize profits, but low enough to entice sales). Their advice about what was likely to happen (what would and probably wouldn't sell) was spot on. What impressed me most is that they were more concerned about my satisfaction than with making a quick buck. I consider the sale to have been a success, and they were the primary reason for that. If I ever need to hold an estate sale again, I will contact them.

During the time after
Alto Auction Services Provider Name Locked
's visit to our home, she also helped us by phone to answer other questions and help us with the wording of our ads for the newspaper and internet. Our three-day sale went very well! We had a huge turn out of customers on the very first morning, which I credit to the way items were emphasized in our ads. Overall, it was a rewarding venture and
Alto Auction Services Provider Name Locked
's expertise made a tremendous difference!

Avoid consigning anything with this business. They are extremely disorganized, horrible to communicate with and don't pay you for what they actually sell. After 90 days, they claim your property -- despite the fact that they don't return calls or emails to get a status on what sold and what is still there. After my mother passed, we paid to have multiple items, some brand new, delivered to their location, after the owner (Elude) saw the items and said she could sell them. Had we known what would have happened, we would have gladly donated all to a reputable charity instead of inadvertently donating them to this business' consignment scam. Horrible experience.
- Jonathan F.

After Bill's appraisal, we determined that after the items were auctioned and we paid their commission for services, we might do better if we tried to sell our items outright. We appreciated his advice and his honesty.

We had a home from an aunt and uncle who were deceased that had to be cleaned out because it was sold. There was furniture and knick knacks everywhere. We live 60 miles from the home, work jobs and didn't know how we were going to do it! Angies list in Pittsburgh did not have a lot of choices. We found Talisa and
Alto Auction Services Provider Name Locked
! She was tremendous, she boxed everything up and brought it to Pittsburgh for an estate sale because the small town they lived in would not have netted anything on the sale. Talisa has a following of estate shoppers that come to the sale and she negotiates quite fairly. We would probably have donated all the stuff to charity but it would have been a terrible amount of work!

Talisa and her husband
Alto Auction Services Provider Name Locked
are honest, hard-working and very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend.

The sale went very well and 99% of the house was cleaned out. They offered to have our choice of charity pick remaining items. This is a very professional organization and has a great crew to work with, They provided a service which exceeded our expectations. They are very honest and went out of their way to make sure that I was satisfied.
My sister and I thank them for the hard work.
