"I was at first hesitant because of the lack of reviews I was finding. I continued to ask around because of the quote I received it was worth the extra time spent." I ended up finding information that made me comfortable with the decision. I have nothing negative to say. All timelines were met, communication was excellent, no
fees. It was a flawless excellent experience.

"Two professional workers arrived on time, worked with enthusiasm, and carefully installed mesh gutter guards by the proper method. I am impressed by the result!" Thank you.
(office) and
(estimator) are great ambassadors for the company. This is my second, great experience working with the company.

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

Gutter Installation reviews in Alpena

Received a quote for gutters. Called back to add leaf guards to the quote. Was assured 6 different times that someone would call me right back. No one ever called back. After repeated attempts, gave up on them and hired another company to install the gutters.
- Kathleen H.

We had our first appointment on September 10th, the person that came out was very friendly and seemed very professional. We told him some of our bad experiences and he assured us "we are not like that at all". He gave us an estimate for the work and said we would receive an exact quote that evening. We didn't receive the quote but he called us the next morning to tell us he was very busy but that we would receive the quote by the end of the weekend. No problem. However the end of the weekend came and still no quote. So we waited a couple of days and then my wife called again. The person was very apologetic, once again apologized and told us we were scheduled to have the work performed around the 8th of October. A week later we still did not receive a quote so I decided to contact him myself. Once again apologies and assurance that we would receive a quote at the end of the week. I actually send him a message to please confirm that we would receive a quote no later then Friday the 2nd of October, he answered "Yes you will". At that time he told us too that our project had been delayed until October 20th at 6:30 am. Friday October 2nd came and unfortunately no quote, in fact not a word from them. I just now (Tuesday October 6th) left a message again on answering machine and so far no response. Just today I received a message that they lost their fascia installer and would not be able to do the job.

e few that The estimator
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
, was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and very helpful explaining in detail the work to be performed and the cost of having each item done. The install crew showed up on time and immediately went to work. They were completed in about 2 hours and after inspecting I found their work to be highly satisfactory. It amazes me that of all the local service providers we have used in Palm Coast, this company is one of the few that does exactly what it said it would do, when they said they would do it and not ask for payment until the homeowner is completely satisfied with the quality of work done. We would have no hesitation in recommending this contractor to family, friends and neighbors. They are A#1 in our opinion.

I decided to engage
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
(after receiving an inspection and quote) to replace all gutters and downspouts on my 15-year old home due to persistent slow dripping from the corner seams of the old gutters. The old gutters weren't completely faulty but, I was told by

that the corner seams really couldn't be patched - that I was better off simply replacing the entire gutter and downspout system. OK, no problem, let's roll, I said.
Sometime in early August, a subcontractor to

came out to the house and spent a Saturday morning and early afternoon replacing all off my gutters and I paid them $1500. Unfortunately, these installers proceeded to install the new gutters directly over top of some existing drip-

that was in place for the old gutters....in spite of my request to them (during the install) to be sure and

Fast forward to the first significant rainstorm...after install.
Almost like having no gutters due to the space that was left between the facia of the house and the gutters. have multiple videos showing the downpour from the roof of the house directly downward behind the gutters onto the ground around my house; splashing mud on my home, displacing mulch and otherwise settling around my foundation. So, I sent the video to
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he responded a few days later...and sent out yet another subcontractor to fix the SPECIFIC spots in the video but, not bother to look at the rest to ensure full functioning of the new gutters. Sub contractors came and went...and I thought we were good...
Fast forward to the next significant rainstorm....after first attempt to fix...
Same issue...in other spots around the house. Called
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
AND his sub-contractor. Sent videos of the new issues and they came out....took pictures and installed some drip

in a few spots. I thanked them, they left...I thought we were good.
NEXT rainstorm (you get the pattern here, right?)....you guessed it...more vertical downpour from the gutters who STILL function nowhere near as good as my old (leaky at the corners) gutters. Called the subcontractor again who, this time, claims he's done with it...and refers me to a second sub-contractor...who also says he's done with it....and passes me back to

...my original salesman. (Think about the time it takes to deal with three separate entities vs. the one that I contracted with...)
After two weeks of back and forth, sporadic communication,

tells me that I may need a roofer to step in because my 'shingles are too short in places'...and perhaps some additional drip

(which he somehow can't supply) and so, he has two roofers call me....and I tell them YES, please come out and give me an estimate on what it will take to retrofit my shingles and drip

' gutters (read that last part again and see if that makes any sense).
Two Buckeye referred roofer appointments made...NONE have showed as of this writing...more than a week has passed. ONE of the roofers actually asked me on the phone...sight unseen....if I would be willing to let him simply replace my entire roof...if he could work it so that I put it through my insurance and wrangled a no-deductible arrangement. ?? I politely told him that I merely bought gutters to fix some corner leakage...I was not prepared to replace my entire roof to retrofit to a $1500 set of gutter and downspouts. Unreal. Unprofessional. Roofer works in Columbus with a Memphis area code. Seems flighty to me.
So, I gave
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
one last opportunity and sent him an email that no roofers have showed...and after two days

Overall, a bad, time consuming experience for inferior product, workmanship and customer service and responsiveness.
This was a complete fail on every level. I wasted money, time and still have an ineffective gutter system that I have already paid cash for. Never again. Buyer beware.
- Chris W.

On Sunday the 4th, my carport gutter collapsed. On Monday I call 2 or 3 of the top tier companies for repair but, it seemed my job was too small for them to bother. When I called
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
and explained my problem, he came to my house within the hour. He quickly evaluated my problem and gave me a great estimate (with a 10% senior discount). Because it was late in the afternoon, we agreed he would get the material ( matching the color of a 21 ft. of gutter and rusted out downspouts) and start at 10:00 a.m. the next morning (I picked the time convenient to me).
He should up at the right time, with the right materials, and in a little over an hour, I had a new gutter with great color match. Mr.

was courteous, professional, and did a great job. I will call him again, for other jobs I need done, in the near future.

Alpena Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a nice enough guy and I am sure he and his team can do siding and small projects very well. Our project got a little over his head I think and the quality suffered.
- Jonathan B.

The job went well. they did a good job of matching existing front gutter. They showed up on time and completed job in timely manner. Job debris was cleaned up. I had used this company before and had a small problem that was taken care of within a day. Nice to work with people who have a good work ethic.

Exemplary service from request for job estimate through installation and follow up. Quality all the way. I used this provider again for a vinyl siding job at another location and received the exact same quality service. Recommend without reservation.
