"This drywaller gave me a bid price double that than other licensed contractors. He quoted me a bid of 1400 to repair 6 inches worth of
on" 3 walls of a room that was 12x13 and as well a a 6 inch repair on two other walls since all the walls did not need to be repaired, but we're cut due to water damage by 6 inches. In addition I asked that the service provider replace the trim which was already cut but needed to be removed when the
was cut. The materials for this job would be about 100-150.00 therefore for a job this small to cost this much is very disappointing to receive a bid like this. Whats scary is the fact that it only cost me a few hundred dollars more than this bid to
the entire basement in the first place. I never saw the contractor pulled out a measuring tape like the other contractors which tells me my job wasn't worth his time or he believed I was stupid enough to be ripped off. I signed up for Angie's list Thursday to find a good contractor so this was my first experience picking a contractor from Angie's list based upon previous reviews. I would never recommend this business to anyone based upon them being over priced. Over pricing does not mean a person will receive a quality job. The money is not the factor for my husband and I but honesty means everything. On a more positive note, I hired a contractor to do this same job yesterday which also came highly recommended. Buyer beware!!!

"I scheduled
's visit with his Administrative Assistant,
, by e-mail. He arrived on time, was polite, knowledgeable," and brought the needed tools. First, he put the lamp together quickly. Secondly, he asked me where I wanted placement of the lamp, and he marked the spot with a pencil. Third, using his power screwdriver he made a small hole in the ceiling. Fourth, he put the anchor hook in the ceiling. Fifth, he hung the lamp. We are very pleased with his work and our new lamp. He was here about 30 minutes or less. We heard of
from a friend who used him as a handyman. She said he was reasonable re. price and job. We have used him about six times in 2014 for various jobs such as hanging a flat screen TV in my husband's office, installing handrails over our tub in the guest bathroom, etc. as a handyman. We have been very pleased with all his work and cost per job.
has been polite and efficient re. his scheduling time. We will continue to use his services.

drywall installation and repair

Drywall and plaster

Knowing how your interior walls are constructed and what they are made of can help you take better care of your home, as well as provide effective maintenance. You can make small repairs yourself, but the more extensive the job the more likely you'll need a drywall repair contractor to make the wall smooth again.

You may prefer the lived-in look, but a hole in the wall makes your home look a little too lived in. A pro tells how to repair a hole yourself and save money.

My sister-in-law uses brite white toothpaste and rubs it into those small holes. No prep, no sanding.

I've used wall liner (it applies like wallpaper only thicker) to cover a multitude of "wall sins" over the years. In my opinion it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It doesn't look cheap or tacky, it's inexpensive, non-labor intensive and not messy to install.

I used it for the first time about 15 years ago to cover a faux brick tile on my lower kitchen walls that couldn't be removed. It was either tear the wall down or take a chance on $40 worth of wall liner. It did the job beautifully and lasted. Since then I've used it to cover paneling, a badly gouged wall after a kitchen remodel and a wall that looked like a pegboard after floor to ceiling shelving was removed.

Friends and family (and realtors!) have been amazed by the transformation after applying this simple inexpensive product.

Do NOT hire this painter. He does a horrible job. He can't

, he can't patch holes, he doesn't even take off light switch covers. He painted my light fixture on the ceiling even! He got paint all over my wood steps. Now I have to pay another painter to fix everything he did and I have to get someone to come fix my steps that are covered in paint.

PHase 1 has gone very well and we are waiting for the electrical to be completed and
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
will come back to complete Phase 2. Phase 2 went well and was completed with no problems. Crown molding and baseboard installation went great. All completed in two separate days. We experienced a broken pipe leak onto the new

and crown molding during the holidays.

came back out and provided the same stellar service of replacement and caulking in one day. We were and have been extremely satisfied with

He got there 8 minutes ahead of schedule and was kind enough to wait for me as I was running a little late. He came in (clean cut) and made sure he would not damage my antique lamps. He got started right away and was able to keep the noise level down very low so I could continue working without any interference. He finished up and despite having a bucket of water, a bag joint compound, and everything else that goes along with patching a wall I did not have to vacuum after he left. He was careful but also had plenty of mats down to catch any mistakes. He came back later in the day (again, at an agreed upon time) and sanded everything down after it was dry and left without a mess (again). However, before he left I went ahead and hired him to fix some problems at my Dad's house. Needless to say, I was very pleased with his work. From his punctuality, personal appearance, professionalism, and craftsmanship, to his gentle mannerism. He's just a nice guy who takes pride in doing excellent work. I recommend JL for you and your family without any reservations.

During the initial visit to repair
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
determined there was still a significant amount of moisture in the wall studs. He took the time to discuss the pros and cons of proceeding before the studs dried out. We agreed with his recommendation to wait, and rescheduled. On the second visit, the studs were sufficiently dry enough to proceed. In addition, he took extra time to insure all plumbing connections were dry (no new leaks). The work was done quickly, professionally, and looks wonderful (after a coat of paint, you cannot tell where the original

ends, and the new

begins). He protected all the areas well (no overspray from the texturing), and left the area cleaner than he found it. A few points: 1. We were impressed with
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
's flexibility with scheduling. 2. Instead of just doing the job the first time, he was more concerned with getting it right, even though it involved a second trip. 3. We have worked with other
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
companies in the past, and they did a great job. What separates
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
from the pack, is the focus on customer service (punctual, professional, taking time to listen to the customer and answer questions, putting customer satisfaction above convenience).

They arrived promptly and got to work straight away, first covering everything with plastic. When the work was finished it was impossible to see any joins! I'm very happy with the work they did.

did a great job. He had to tie into a ceiling that was already textured and his work was perfect. He was very responsive to phone calls and emails. I would definitely use him again.

Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
met me at the house the day following my initial call to him. He provided a quote that evening. I was under a time constraint, and he started the work the following week. He arrived as scheduled and completed the job within a week. The popcorn ceilings were removed from a two story house. They had previously been painted, making the job more difficult. All imperfections were repaired, and the ceilings were primed and painted. I left town for 2 weeks and was completely amazed when I came back to inspect the property. My personal residence was built with flat ceilings, and they have never looked as perfect as the ones that
Alma Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
repaired. It said it all when my five year old niece walked in and asked why the ceilings were so smooth. I will definitely contact this company if I need this type of service in the future.
- Lisa R.

The work was outstanding. Very professional company. I scheduled the work during a busy time of year. They did not over-promise to get the work. They showed up for the repair on schedule. Excellent work done. Thorough cleanup. Very easy company to work with. Highly recommend.
