"The fireplace was thoroughly inspected and cleaned. The flame was off to one side and the serviceman fixed it so it was even - a great improvement. He also explained" how the system worked and how the arrangement of the logs makes a difference in the efficiency of the gas fireplace. I was very pleased with the service and the entire experience. Will hire this company again.

"Bought a standard model gas fireplace from this company. The thermacouple went bad after 4 years. I told them when I made the repair appointment that it acted like" the thermacouple. They made me wait a week to get someone out to look at it. Then, he told me its a bad thermacouple and they don't carry that part. The part took two weeks to get and when they called me they made me wait another week for someone to come out and put it in. So, my fireplace was down for a month because they don't bother to carry something as
as a thermacouple for the units they sell.

Most people enjoy sitting in front of a fire on a cold day, but traditional, wood-burning fireplaces come with a few disadvantages. They tend to waste energy, require maintenance and pose some risk. Read this guide to discover several alternatives that provide the same ambiance, but with fewer downsides.

Dear Angie: How much can I expect to pay to have my wood fireplace converted to gas? Our house is about 30 years old. The bottom of the fireplace looks like it's easily accessed through the basement. The conversion would involve running 30 to 50 feet of gas line. — Thomas M., Cincinnati, Ohio

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

Fireplace couldn't finish the job I called

, the service tech, was fabulous! They are the only folks I plan to call in the future! Glad to hear that they may be expanding services to HVAC too!

We recently purchased a townhouse that had a peninsula fireplace sticking out from the middle of the wall in the living room. It was hideous, unsafe (it was ventless and I guess they are even illegal in some states due to health issues they cause.), it was a waste of floor space and I wanted it out asap!
When we were doing the inspection before purchasing the townhouse, we had Kenn come out and give us an estimate that day. We wanted to know if it was possible to remove the fireplace before buying. He said it could be removed, gave us an estimate and we told him we'd contact him after closing.
We closed on 3/6 and Kenn came out to remove it on 3/11. Not a moment too soom imo!
Kenn and his assistant

put drop cloths down to protect our wood floors, then got right to work. They were able to take it apart within a couple hours and the room was transformed. They cleaned up what little mess they made. They hauled the parts away, capped the gas lines, patched the drywall. They came back the next day for finishing touches on the patch. It looks great and once we get someone in to piece in flooring where it was sitting (none of the surrounding flooring was damaged at all during removal.) you will never know that the fireplace had been there! Great job guys!

We purchased a 3 year old home in the summer of 2012 and we
knew we had a problem with our fireplace shortly after the first winter freeze.
He noticed that we had a draft coming into through the fireplace and it was unbearable
to use our living room. The winter of 2013 was not too bad for the Omaha area
so we waited until spring to have someone come out and take a look at our fireplace.
We contacted the builder he recommended contact the folks that installed it. So
we called
Waterville Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
and Patio. To our surprise they wanted to charge
almost $100 dollars for someone to just come and take a look, so we opted not
to pay the fee and we found 3 other companies that specialized in fireplaces to
come and take a look at no cost. For the most part all contractors told us they
needed to look at the back of the fireplace to see what if anything was wrong
and some suggested that it could be an insulation issue. The winter of 2014 was
the same….lots of cold air coming thru the fireplace and we decided to have fireplace
stone and patio finally come out and take a look. Again they said that it would
cost 89 dollars for a service call. The tech came in and said that it was an
insulation issue. He recommended getting a blower and letting the fireplace run
all day and all night. He also recommended installing a pilot light to keep the
firebox warm. We installed both the blower $120 and the pilot light switch for $149
and nothing changed. We then contacted the company, the installation manager
said it was not their issue to hire a contractor to open the siding and check
the insulation. So we did at a cost of $1,300 dollars. The checked the
insulation and inspected the box and sealed everything back up. They didn’t
notice anything wrong with the insulation. A day later we noticed the cold
again and the draft issue came back. We took infrared temperature reading and
they back of our fireplace was the same temp as the outside temp…a whooping 13
degrees. The stone around the fireplace
was 20 degrees warmer. I reach out to the manufacture (Heatilator) and they
told me that when there are draft issues it’s usually an installation issue. So
Waterville Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
and patio again and spoke to the installation manager
on several occasions and they are refusing to take ownership of the issue and
they are refusing to work with me. They said they have pictures of their
install and they are not doing anything about it. I even sent them a picture of
the back of the fireplace, where it appears that exhaust pipe was not installed
correctly and nothing. It’s amazing from perspective how this company is now
willing to help. The builder is pointing
the finger at them since they installed it. The manufacture is saying that it
the installer and the pictures clearly show how the cold air is possibly coming
but nothing from them. I hope that my case is an isolated issue because I would
have for another family to be experiencing what I’m experiencing and for that
reason, I would caution buyers to beware and find a more reputable company for
your fireplace needs. I would stay clear
of this business since they obviously

’t care about customer satisfaction or
running a reputable business.

Everyone was very courteous, taking care to keep my brand new carpet protected and taking care with my fragile tile I had installed around the fireplace. They were prompt and knew what they were doing. When I discovered that the installation had caused an unrelated gas leak in the aging pipes, the owner of the company and one of his leads were to my house within minutes of my call and promptly diagnosed and replied the problem. I am happy to recommend this locally owned company.

The service went great. We love our new fireplace. They even restored the cedar and did it perfectly in the mantel. A crew of five came out and completed the work over 2 days. They did what they said they would, were quick, efficient and cooperative. They stopped the chimney from leaking and replaced the liner. They also capped the chimney. They sold us new logs. They were very patient to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I had no problem scheduling the service.

We own a home where an old wood

Quick, professional service. Pleased with the technician's job. If anything had to be faulted, he showed up 1 hr early. My Wife and I are considering signing up for additional services from this vendor.
