Health Care reviews in Portland

They are really great. Dr.
Portland Health Care Provider Name Locked
sort of went out his way to take time with me. I was there for a filling and he took time with me and was also very knowledgeable. He explained and wasn’t trying to put more fillings in my teeth because I had recesses in my teeth just natural and not cavities. So he didn’t try to fill in that and make money out of it. He was concerned and I knew that he wasn’t trying to screw me over that.

Even though it’s a chain, you can choose a dentist and see the same one every time. Dr. Gissy is the dentist I see. In case of emergency, there is always a dentist available if he isn’t which is nice. They are very up front about the charges. On your initial visit you get a dental exam and x-

for free. From there they tell you what you need to have done and work with you to come up with a plan. There are not long wait times. They are very on schedule. They call you two days ahead to remind you of your appointment so that you can avoid cancellation fees.

He is not the cheapest guy around, he is expensive, but you get what you pay for. Usually when you are getting dental work done, the lab has to make the tooth and then ship it to the dentist. Therefore, you as a patient are talking to the dentist who is talking to a lab over the phone and then the lab sends the tooth to the dentist. It is a communication triangle. Dr.

's lab is at their office, which is pretty unique and almost unheard of. The people who make the teeth come up and talk to you and look at your face to see how you talk. They personally match their color charts to your teeth, so the tooth they make is exactly the same color as your other teeth. I was highly recommended to go to this doctor. I read reviews on him before I went and they said that they were shocked that in a little place like Portland,

they got that quality of care and I completely agree. They are super high tech.

I should have realized I was in trouble when one of the first documents they made me sign was a waiver against pain (for a tooth extraction) could last days or weeks after the extraction.

I was referred to this office by a friend where I work who had given me the name of a specific Doctor, whom I asked for at me initial visit for xrays and evaluation. They assigned me to someone I did not request. This was unusual to me, but I went along with it because this was my first visit. The office was set up more like cubicles than private rooms of other dentist offices. Again, I just went with it.

After the examination I sat down with the billing manager who priced out the services recommended by the Dentist and hygienist, and finally made the appointments.

I admit, this was a difficult extraction. I previously had a root canal performed on this tooth and the tooth had broken off leaving very little for the dentist to grip when pulling. The Dentist ( who was not the Dentist I originally requested, nor the Dentist who examined me at that first appointment ) pulled and twisted and yanked and strained but wasn't having any luck. The tooth was anthestitized but my body was trembling by fighting the battle with the Dentist. I had to stop her twice because I was so traumatized. The second time she asked for the Dentist who I believed owned this particular franchise, he was irritated with me, yes with me, because I wasn't happy with the Dentist who started this adventure. He was very short with me, and wasn't in a talking mood. He did get the tooth out.

I don't know what it takes to get a tooth out, I don't know if the first Dentist wasn't strong enough or lacked the proper technique; I do know the appointment lasted 1 1/2 hours, and allowing 1/2 hour for paperwork and novacaine I was in that chair too long. I was still trembling an hour later..

We see him every year to get ourselves up to date. we've been going to him for fifty years. It was the father and now it's the son that is operating the business. There are no problems there at all.

My family and I have been using Dr.
Portland Health Care Provider Name Locked
's office for over 20 years. They have been great with our 3 kids from the first appointment.

I hadn't had a problem that required more than cleaning until a few months ago, when I chipped a tooth. I got an appointment within 2 days of calling, and Dr

did a great job in filling in. Nobody can tell I had a problem, and the tooth feels completely normal to me.

, my hygienist, is great. She is gentle, has a great bedside manner, and is easy to talk to. Dr.

is great too. He's only examined me after my cleanings, but so far, nothing to complain about. He seems very knowledgeable.

I had a very satisfactory experience and I'm glad I went. I had troubles with insurance, so they sat down and worked out a payment plan with me to pay for all of the work I needed to be done, interest free to me. They truly were excellent.

Does not perform gum measurements that I understand are standard practice at the best dental practices. Also, the digital x-

machine was not working. The x-rays were done "the old-fashioned way" but were not examined by the dentist during my appointment time, despite the diagnosis of a cavity.

They take my dental insurance, which is very nice. The facility is very clean and brand new. All of the equipment is state-of-the-art. The only drawback is that they are not very personable there. However, I will continue to go there in the future.
