"Iv known Dr
for well north of 30 years, but decided recently to start using his services. I have been to many dentist over the years and" unfortunately Dr
is by far the worst. His skill level is basic. -- He struggles with finding the correct tooth color (his nurse argued with him many times, and sure enough when it came, she was right. The color was waaay off), and mixing the filler for a root canal fill (it fell out days later), He doesn't listen to patient requests. -- Politely asked if I could get non-amalgam fillings and he took it waay to personal. He had an attitude after that. Takes out hostilities on patients -- He wanted to put a gap in the front of my mouth (Iv never had one in my life mind you, he wanted to make one!), after expressing that I did not want to do that, he demanded that I do it. Once again his nurse had to step in and remind him that if the patient doesn't want a different look to their smile that he should comply. He said he liked the look of a gap. His nurse had to remind him that it wasn't his smile. By this time another nurse in training came in and agreed that a gap would not be best. He angrily agreed to not do it, and then when numbing me he slammed the needle into the roof of my mouth as hard as he could! I literally screamed and began crying. Never has a Dr done that to me before. I brought my husband for the follow up appointment, and Dr
acted super professional, like I have never seen him do before. Billing is crooked -- There is no other way to phrase that. In fact I will go so far as to say they are swindling the insurance companies. I was billed one amount and what they would turn in to my insurance company was MUCH higher. It blew through all of my insurance. They also lied so many times about my billing that I had to secretly record them on my iphone. Sure enough when they lied the next time, I told them I had taken "written notes in my phone" and pretended to look at them. Then told them the amount they quoted me. The "office manager" then agreed to "lower it to that amount" but she insisted that "thats not what I told you". She was very nasty to deal with. There was always billing discrepancies. Makes an average situation worse -- I had a passable smile before Dr
. After he butchered (yes! butchered) my mouth I now have an embarrassing smile. He literally cut into my
and left a scar (in my gum!). Hammered (yes with a giant hammer!) a tooth-post in wrong and now the tooth is crooked (wasn't before) and has a giant space next to it than can only be repaired with orthodontia. Not up front with patients -- I needed extensive work. Dr
gave me the impression he could do it all. We discussed what needed to be done and I told him the ones that were my top priorities. We seemed to be on the same page. --He did non of what I asked or needed. When I could see I had maybe one more appointment before he was done, I politely asked about all the other stuff. He never answered and shrugged my question off. I learned later from a friend who works in a dental office, that I would've needed a specialist for what I was requesting, and that my dentist knew full well he couldn't do it, and should have never lied to me saying he could. She further said that he should have printed out a 'dental plan' that would detail all the work to be done and the cost (he never printed out any kind of plan or cost analysis). OVERALL: For basic cleanings and
drill and fills (not root canals though). I would say he can cover it. But anything beyond that will not be within his ability level. I hate to say that, because Iv know him since I was a child, and I now have grandchildren. But there are far better dentists out there. Proof positive: I went to get three 2nd opinions on something he said I should let him do, and ALL 3 dentists said that he shouldn't do it! I have now pulled me and my family from his practice.

"Dr
is OUTSTANDING! I was in the Air Force for 20 years and my dentist there recommended him highly. I had two upper teeth that consisted" of mostly metal fillings. They were so gray from the metal that when I smiled it looked like I was missing a few teeth in the back. Dr
put two new porcelain crowns on them, had the crowns modified in the front to even out my smile, and they look great! He definitely knows what he is doing when it comes to the cosmetic side of things. Beyond the cosmetic improvement though in those teeth...he saved two of my bottom teeth. During his initial inspection he identified the fact they had internal resorption (my body was destroying the teeth from the inside out). He said it was extremely rare and recommended I have an endodontist evaluate them (he wasn't doing the procedure and didn't recommend a specific endodontist so it wasn't an upsell...it was legitimate concern for the teeth). I got a second opinion (and third from all of the endontists that wanted to see it) and he had nailed what it was. They were able to treat the teeth and save them. My previous dentists had all missed it. If I hadn't gone to see him I'd have lost the teeth and I'd have been out thousands and thousands of dollars for two implants down the road. Obviously after making my smile look great and saving two teeth for me, I'm a big fan. He knows what he is talking about, is friendly and made sure I was happy and comfortable before doing anything. I'll be going to him as long as I'm in San
. The B rating for availability is because they are closed weekends and some Fridays.

I am familiar witht he ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers across the country, in particluar, the one in Overland Park, KS.  They are a "one stop" implant center.  The doctors there are at the top of their field, and an advantage is that you have all of the specialists that will be working with you in the same place.  That would have to make communication easier between doctors.  They usually offer seminars for patients and I think, offer free consultations, which is always worthwhile.

If you chose to go the other way, some Prosthodontists will place and restore the implants themselves. In other cases, an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist will place the implant and a Prosthodontist or General Dentist restores it.   Fees can vary quite a bit from office to office and with the different options for restorative materials.  Some offer free consultations, for others, they charge a fee that might be applied to any future treatment in some cases.

The first step is to schedule a few consultations with different providers, which it sounds like you've already done.

The most important factors when deciding which practitioner to work with:
:
.1.  You should feel comfortable asking your doctor any questions so that you have a good understanding of the procedure itself, healing time and long-terem outcome, and possible complications.  Write down a list of questions and take them with you to the consultation.

2.  Ask about the experience of the practitioner. How many similiar procedures have they completed?  Have they had any major complications with any cases?  Ask to see photos if possible.

3..Figure out if it works out better for your schedule, to go to a "one stop" provider or to separate providers for the placement and the restoration of the implants.

4. Follow your instincts.  If you feel rushed, didn't get direct answers to your questions, didn't communicate well or had any other negative feelings, this probably isn't the doctor for you.

5. Consider insurance coverage and financing options.  If your dental plan covers implants and it is important to you to use a preferred provider, you will want to check your list.  Many times, insurance does not cover implants, or at least not all of the steps.  You may want to inquire about payment and financing options.

I hope this at least helps you feel a little less confused and a little more directed. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of further help.
Sincerely,

As a  Dentist, I am sorry to hear about your denture nightmare and I know how frustrating that can be.  I am surprised that your doctor wasn't willing to work with you on some type of solution.  A few options would be either remaking the dentures once more,  or offering to return some of the money and have you return the dentures.   Unfortunately, the doctor has put in a lot of their time and lab expenses, but the patient also  has time and money invested.  You might try sending a letter re-explaining the problems you hand and offering an acceptible and fair solution.  Be sure to keep a copy of it and any correspondence you receive from the Dental Office.  In the event that you don't get anywhere, you have documentation of the problem.

At any point in the process, did they have you sign something saying you were happy with the denture set up?  Some practitioners will document the patient's acceptance at the try-in appointment, before the denture is processed.  At that time, changes in tooth arrangement, size and color can be made with minimal lab expense.

If the letter doesn't get you anywhere, you might try going to the governing body of the dental profession in your area.  I am a dentist in Blue Springs, Missouri, USA.  Here, we have the Missouri Dental Board  (or the Dental Division of the Missouri Department of Professional Registration.)  This is the entity that licenses us to perform our professional duties in our state.  They often have a process to file complaints against a provider if you were unable to resolve the problem yourself.   After your complaint is received, they will contact the doctor to get their side of the story, then try to mediate a solution between the two parties.

As far as a new set of dentures, you might seek out the services of a Prosthodontist (specializes in dentures and removable appliances - extra training and certification beyond general dentistry) or go to a local dental school.  The students are supervised and checked off at each step by professionals.  Most dental schools also treat patients through their faculty practices, and you can often get the services of a specialist at a lower price.

I hope this information is helpful to your situation, and I wish you well.

I found his staff, from the initial phone call and the visit, to be courteous, professional and accommodating. Dr.
Madison Dentists Provider Name Locked
is most congenial and pleasant. After x-rays and exam, I was not confident of his diagnosis and the recommendation for a very costly blood test did not sit well with me. And then he called me a few days later with a change of mind about his proposed treatment.
I thanked him for his time.
I received a call from his office asking me to make a return appointment. I informed the secretary that I was now receiving my dental care elsewhere and thanked her for the call. That was not the end of it. I have received a number of 'reminders' in the mail and in spite of 2 followup calls to his office, they persist in contact.
This does not mean anything other than I had one brief encounter which was pleasant enough, but I cannot speak to Dr.
Madison Dentists Provider Name Locked
's expertise, except to say in my case he made an incorrect diagnosis (albeit of my rather unique situation) and proposed diagnostics and a treatment plan that I felt was unreasonably expensive.

I am extremely impressed with Dr.
Madison Dentists Provider Name Locked
and her excellent staff. From my first appointment, the care and treatment has been superb. My orthodontist has also commented on what excellent crown work was done. The professionalism and friendliness of the staff makes me feel like I am going in for a "spa treatment" rather than a dental exam or procedure. It's actually a joy to go for an appointment!

My company changed Dental Insurance companies and my longtime Dentist was not a preferred provider, so I had to find a new dentist. A friend suggested Dr.
Madison Dentists Provider Name Locked
, so we gave him a try and we are so glad we did. His side chair manner is excellent, his staff is friendly and helpful and he goes the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable with what he is doing. He built a bridge for one side of my mouth and it is working out great. He

The staff in super nice and efficient. My braces experience is going really well. After only 7 braces, my teeth are lining up.
I recommended the office to a friend who has been having mouth pain for almost a year without his previous dentist or orthodontist being able to diagnose it. He saw Dr

and she diagnosed it within 10 minutes and he is on his way to recovery.
These dentists rock!

The visit went as well as can be expected. They took there time getting things done and explained the results afterwards.

This dental office is clean. However, there are many reasons why I would not recommend this office. The front-desk assistants are sometimes rude and can be overhead gossiping about patients who are sometimes within earshot. The dentist with whom I was assigned has a very lackluster, joyless personality (it was as if she hated her job). I came in for a consultation for dental implants and was basically talked down to a poorly-fitting, sharp-edged metal partial (the edges were so jagged that I cut the insides of my mouth). Also, the impressions which were taken were left in my mouth too long and had to be pried out with force which then caused: i) an upper tooth to crack, ii) a crown to become loose and iii) a fewhi When I complained, I was treated as though I had nothing to complain about. I was constantly reminded that the insurance would only cover the wicked contraption which had been created by this dentist. i was constantly reminded not to miss an appointment, "as bills have to be paid" (this was said by the head of this operation, Dr.
