"
was great. He responded to my call by the next day from when I left a message on his phone. We corresponded by email to discuss the project, negotiate and agree" on a quote, and schedule his visit. He arrived on time and completed this long overdue project in the time and cost he estimated. He was neat, professional and performed excellent carpentry with the materials, cuts and installation along with extra touches including sealing. Extra bonus from sealing this entranceway was the improved insulation to the basement which is much warmer now and less humid because all the outside air no longer gets in. Highly recommend
for his services, professionalism and timeliness.

"
is an honest hard working high quality construction company. They care about their work. Have very high standards. We enjoyed working closely with them from" planning to execution of the project. We love our new kitchen. We know we have added real value to our home. We consider ourselves lucky to have found this great company.

"Everything mentioned above went terribly wrong other than the installation of Gazebo. 1) He messed up the kitchen caulking first by using a shiny white caulk instead of the the beige" one that was there initially. We provided him the exact sample (with brand name and color). But he still purchased the incorrect color and texture. I had to hire someone from the company that the builder used to remove his caulking and get the caulking done correctly. 2) His drywall work was so terrible that you can literally see the bumps in the drywall where he did the patch work. I have pictures to prove it. It looks worse than before we asked him to fix it. 3) He again used white caulk/grout in the master bathroom shower floor knowing it would be a total mismatch with the original beige grout color in the shower. I asked him to remove the white caulk and redo it with the right color. He removed the white caulk but didn't regrout the floor with the right color. Instead he later denied that floor was part of the job. I have the contract worksheet/email from him to prove that shower floor was one of the main jobs he was supposed to do. Anyhow, I had to hire a professional grout company from Angie's list to re-grout our shower floor but what a waste of money and misery that we had to go through with this provider. 4) He used incorrect color (shiny baseboard color) to do paint touch up for the baseboards. The paint job itself was horrendous and you can clearly see his smears of paint vs. the original paint which is a different texture, This has to be redone as well. I have pictures to prove it. When I told him that I am not going to pay him the entire 550 or 600 bill and I will pay the remaining 100 when the bathroom floor is done, he threatened to call cops. I should have let him call the cops and take him to court for the fraud and shady job he did but I let it drop at that moment since I had guests coming in for a dinner party that evening and I didn't want to ruin my evening over this shady job and shady
. It was in fact a blessing in disguise for us since before this job we were thinking about hiring him to get our 1800 sq. ft unfinished basement done. What a nightmare it could have been for us to deal with this
and his company. I absolutely recommend to go with
that have good reviews/ratings on Angie's list and save yourself money and misery by avoiding the services of this

Baseboards and molding

Baseboards and molding serve a practical function -- covering up the space where walls and floors join, as well as protecting the wall from scuffs and dents. But they also provide a decorating opportunity.

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

and his brother came to our house over the course of 4 days( certain drywall/mudding had to cure and dry). In each instance, they called ahead to let us know their time of arrival. They cleaned up every time they were here and hauled away all the trash when they left for the day. Both men are gracious, knowledgeable, and asked which way to approach something when it was unclear. We were on a time and materials so any costs were paid for at the time of purchase. We are having a complete kitchen demo, remodel, and cabinet, sink, dishwasher and lighting done, There were several pre-installation carpentry jobs required: window removals, window installs, mold, wood rot, some flooring, new window surrounds, exterior wall repair. Everything was done well not only from an appearance standpoint but all expertly. All the fixes turned out better than we would have thought it could be. We will definitely use their services in the future and will and have passed on their contact information to our friends and neighbors. If there were service stars higher than 5 we would definitely use a higher rating. Unfortunately today many people have a sense of in trepidation when starting a big remodel project because of all the negative experiences the public at large complain about. In our experience, it is rare that the service and results far exceed the original expectations.

From start to finish
Hancock Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was very professional. He provided an initial quote and then as I worked with him on how I wanted the stairs built he provided additional quotes until we both agreed on the amount and the work to be done. Very smooth and easy process, which I appreciate. He helped me go thru all the options and in the end I couldnt be happier with everything, all the neighbors love it as do I. I ended up with composite treads and and risers and custom wood rails because I don't care for the PVC rails.
Hancock Carpenters Provider Name Locked
also repaired some of the wood on my porch instead of pushing me(unlike others I contacted) to get a whole new one, which would have been outside my budget. Highly recommend his services.

No concrete decisive agreement/date/contract....too much distance focused on the traveling to the project. I got the impression there wasn't going to get anything done within the time frame of usual scope of work to be performed.
