returned my initial call promptly. They asked me a number of questions regarding the moving job for which I wanted an estimate. They gave" me a "ballpark" estimate and asked when I needed to be moved. It turned out that the date fit well with their schedule and they asked me if I was interested in a more specific estimate. Based on the ballpark estimate, I was interested in pursuing. They promised to call the next morning to get more specific information to complete the estimate. As promised, the next morning they called and had me walk through a detailed tour of our home and what needed to be moved - room by room. For some rooms, they asked about specific items that many people have but I may have forgotten about. That was very helpful. They also asked about certain items that might be heavier than normal. Once we completed that, they gave me an estimate in the form of a range of $1,210 to $1,295. They then sent me an email detailing what we had discussed and asked me to review the list and confirm it, which I did. I ended up adding a few things that I somehow forgot earlier. But, they didn't change the estimate. They confirmed the date of the move and indicated that they start their day at 7:00 AM and would be travelling from their location to our home. We were up bright and early the morning of the move. They called shortly after 7:00 AM to let us know that they were on their way and they told us the names of the crew that would be doing our move. There were four men with two very large trucks. They estimated their arrival as 7:30 AM and they were spot on. The crew leader came to the door and introduced himself then he introduced his crew members. Then the crew leader toured the home with me reviewing the list of things to move from the email that we exchanged. They disassembled any furniture items that needed to be take apart to move. They allowed us to leave all our stuff in our drawers. They wrapped the furniture in moving blankets which they then sealed with a plastic wrap. This was an excellent touch because it protected both the finish of the furniture as well as the paint and the walls. It was really hot and humid that day and they were all sweating profusely. But they hustled and in about 3 hours they had everything on the truck. While they were loading the truck, we were loading our car with the things we wanted to hand-carry. Once they were loaded up, we left the house. They told us that they would stop for a short break along the way to get something to eat and drink - we went on ahead to the townhouse. Within 30 minutes of our arrival at the townhouse, they were pulling up. We gave them a brief tour of the townhouse and gave them a general sense of where we wanted them to put the furniture items. We had labeled all of our boxes with their destination so we explained to them where those destination names were actually located in the townhouse. The crew leader called his boss for a final determination of the cost (within the estimate range that they initially gave me). It came out to be the lowest end of the estimate plus they charge for the amount of plastic wrap that they use. In this case, it came to $15. So, the total came to $1,225. While we were settling the fee, the rest of the crew started moving our stuff into the townhouse. My wife and I were on hand to direct them regarding placement of the furniture in the rooms. They put things exactly where we wanted them and were willing to move things to new locations when we decided to change our mind on where things should go. The put together the various items of furniture that they previously disassembled, perfectly. They were very careful in moving things so that they didn't damage the walls in the townhouse (or the items being moved). They were done in a few hours. The crew leader asked us if we wanted anything moved around within the house and if we were satisfied with the move. We were pleased with everything and, as of this date, we have not found any damage to what was moved. Before they left, I tipped each member of the crew for a job well done! We are totally pleased with the move and plan to hire
to do our final move to our new home once it is built this Fall. I highly recommend them.

"Overall, the services performed were just fine. My issue was that after buying the deal on Angie's list when I called to schedule the move, I was told that" there would be an additional $35 fee which was not advertised in the deal. I paid the fee because I needed movers, but I have never purchased an Angie's deal where the price paid was not the actual price of the service.

If you desire to attempt to save Dollars, offer the buyer a Discount , a % OFF the settling price  to accomodate New carpet installation . Typically the carpet is replaced  and floors REfinished , to present the house you are selling at the best possible appearance , not showing the wear of your stay there.

  Think about IT , which house would you rather BUY ?

 

A home with  New Flooring , or one where you see every  scratche and stain left by the former Owners ?

 

Discount the sell price  ,DO NOT Refinish the Floors at all and Sell  AS IS ,  or  refinish and install NEW CHEAP CARPET !

The movers were at first okay, but then they broke my expensive

sound system when the box fell 8 feet while they were unloading. They offered to fix it, took it, and then sent me another one that was broken too. When I called and told them the one they sent was broken too, they said it wasn't. I asked if I could come by their office and show them it was broken they said they were done with me and then suddenly and surprisingly became very angry and said that I couldn't come and show them. Luckily because I doubted their honesty I recorded my conversions with them, but then I found out that moving companies are unlicensed and so it would do me no good.

We had a fantastic experience. The crew kept us informed of what would or would not fit in the truck, how to prioritize items to transport in our vehicles, and the timeline of the move. The crew was friendly, professional, and really amazing. Such a great customer experience during a stressful time. We managed to fit everything in the truck, and they got everything to the house in one piece. Again, this was simply an amazing customer experience. I'm glad I found them. Great investment to make the move easier on us.

Concerns, the truck was really dirty. It should have been cleaned before they came to put our things in the truck. It was not cleaned and we should not have had to pay time for it to be cleaned. The office is not very efficient at returning calls or emails. I used an Angie's list coupon that covered 3 hours of moving, 3 men and a truck. There was no mention that the 3 hours was from the time they left and also included time to return to the office. We have used movers before and I had concerns about the travel time and called to inquire after I purchased the coupon. The person in the office said it was a mistake on their end and they would honor the coupon When it was time to pay they wanted us to pay drive time...I was not too happy about it but agreed to pay 1/2 the travel time. It was an awkward experience with the 3 movers standing there and the owner calling to tell me I had to pay travel time when the office staff already said they would honor the coupon. I would not use them again since the coupon was not honored and the truck was so dirty inside. They also wanted to charge us for the entire amount- they did not have the coupon on the invoice even thought I had emailed it to the office staff the day before. My understanding is that Angie's list also sent them the coupon? They way they communicate you get the feeling that they do not know what's going on. The owner when he called tried to tell me was a small business man and I should understanding paying all the travel time. It was just very unprofessional and uncomfortable when he called me.

The movers were very professional and worked quickly. They were extremely enjoyable to work with and helpful with my request. They are a great company if you want to easily move a piece or few larger pieces of furniture. Much more cost effective than a traditional moving company. I highly recommend!!

Sadly, we spent the money on a deal for a provider that was not available to assist on the day we needed it (I do not recall "fine print" that indicated this is something to be aware of if a consumer chooses to purchase a special deal via a Angie's List provider). They did inform us of two alternate dates they'd be available once we submitted the date we needed services by, but those alternate dates were Mondays, and we are working professionals who couldn't take a day off to move. They mentioned that if they had any cancellations, they'd let me know, and when I followed up with them after I received services through another company so they knew they did not need to continue to work with us, they politely and professionally replied.
For those reasons, I'm willing to offer a grade of 'B' for the provider.

After finally reaching someone (and it took a while as the voicemail on the phone was full) they responded by getting a team out the next day. The two men arrived 5 minutes early, and took the time and care to plan it out. They did not waste time or effort. What I thought be three hours of work was completed in just under two. Very professional and extremely diligent. Happy to give an A+ referral.

I rated the company well because they really do want to give good service. Unfortunately, our move did not go well, but the owner compensated us for the service problems. I'm sure they learned from the mistakes and will deliver better service in the future.
