"Excellent, the professionalism, cleanliness and detailed work of the
crews were outstanding. We would recommend anyone doing this kind of" job in their homes to contacts
. We got great service from the salesman
and all the crews that did the installation. They clean the whole work area, both inside and outside the house. Overall a very good experience and we are very happy with the new windows and doors in the house.

"Overall well. However due to the heat at the time, the work was delayed and I wasn't told the work was going to be delayed. Additionally the dumpster was dropped" off and placed in front of the garage area that blocked my car in. I therefore was stuck in town for the holiday weekend. I tried calling them to get the dumpster moved, but there was no answer. Once the work started though they were fast and did efficient work. Cleanup was overall good. I recognize there is no way to be sure to catch all the roofing nails. I thought their price was reasonable and they even beat a competitor's price.

?

Hello - I hope my answer will help point you in the right direction.

The reason you're having a hard time getting clear information is because there are hundreds of companies saying their window is the best. There are probably millions of different features you can choose to have for your windows and in price ranges from $169-$1200 (per double-hung window).

I've been in the business for 15 years and have seen many different window products from many different dealers and manufacturers. This all comes down to: "what's important for you and your home?" If you want a strong warranty from a company who has a full-time service department to give you piece of mind and service your windows should needs be, or are you looking at only those companies who offer true wood interior windows that you can paint or stain to match the home decor? Whatever is your hot-button, then that's where you want to start.

I would recommend you first choose how you want your new windows to look. Wood-interior with vinyl clad is only offered by certain companies, while there is a vinyl woodgrain finish to give you similar results without the maintenance. If you're only looking for a white interior and don't want the maintenance, a fiberglass or vinyl window would be the best choice from what is offered in the market today (vinyl will be less expensive - not necessarily cheaper quality). If you are going to change out a window to a french door and a door to a window, then you WILL NEED to find a contractor with some carpentry experience. Some companies will tell you upfront that they do not handle those sorts of remodeling projects due to the complexity and time it would take to get it complete.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to personally help you with your project as we work in the New England Area. However, if you wish to talk further, please feel free to email me at: sven@ritewindow.com and I'll be happy to let you know our prices for what we offer so you can compare and hopefully find a similar company to do the work for you near the Austin area.

Cheers!

Get your roofer back out there.  Course of shingles above the window need to be pulled, self sealing flashing, drip caps, and counter and step flashing are going to be required here.

This is a flashing issue as the window connects to the mansard roof surface.

Condensation and a leak are two different and very noticeably different (i.e. volume) things.

Flashing and roofing on Mansards can be tricky but is sounds very much like a roofing issue.

?

+1

Much easier to scratch and typically not as good a finished quality as compared to glass.

Benefits are the resistance to breakage as mentioned by LCD.  Any glazing shop should be able to re-create that panel.

?

For a broken window (or leaking seal in multi-pane unit), for a standard roughly 2x3 foot window, can run from low of about $75-125 for single pane to more like $200-300 range for triple pane, depending on construction and any special ultraviolet or heat reflective coatings. If a removeable window unit, of course cheaper to remove it and take to replacement glass place then have them come out, measure glass size, order glass unit, then come back to install.

If taking in yourself, commonly they can do single-pane in an hour or two, but count on a week or so typically for sealed double or triple pane unit to come in, so you will have to seal the opening in the interim. That is an advantage of having them come out - they measure and determine type of unit on first visit and can seal with tape and plastic sheeting (if you have not already done that), then come back with new unit and install a week or two down the road - but you are not stuck with an opening in the wall for a long time.

?

Thermal numbers look okay when looking at the NFRC.

Do you have any other data on them?  Air infiltration, Design Pressure, Visible Transmittance, and Condensation Resistance are all good evaluators.

http://www.mercuryexcelum.com/images/customer-files/Advantage.pdf

Air infiltration rate is way high at 0.21.

It may look nice in person but the performance numbers are below average.

Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
arrived on time, measured the doors, and had an estimate ready within a few days. When we ordered, they said it would take 2 months for the doors to be ready. Exactly at 8 weeks the shutter doors came in and within a couple of days
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was here to install them. He was efficient, professional, and meticulous. These doors were well worth the wait and truly add so much class to the room. Now, I am looking into ordering shutters for the windows too.

They are rip-off company.
They provide me with a quote which is like by a used car sales man, the sales man kept saying we are the best.
He never even measured or look at the roof, said we use satelite images.
seems like they are just looking for one person to be ripped who have no knowledge.
He quoted me $28000 for a roof, you can get 3 roofs replaced for that kind of money...just beware of them and do your home work

I would highly recommend
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
(and his team) from
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
! They replaced all of my windows including some transoms and arched windows, as well as two very large picture windows and a large sliding door in my walk-out basement. Additionally, I had some reconstruction done around my front door, which entailed replacing a large amount of rotted wood.
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
is incredibly meticulous and treated my property, both inside and out, with great care and respect. He helped remove and replace window treatments and covered all the floors where they were working. He even vacuumed up after removing the carpet covers. Each day,
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
would let me know what the plan was for the day and at the end of the day, he would summarize and let me know what was next.

Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
will probably tell you up front that he doesn’t hurry, and weather can definitely impact the schedule at times. But, knowing that up front made it OK with how the job went. I spent the first week at home just to see what was going on. After that, however, I was entirely comfortable with giving
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
a key to come and go, as he is always on site. I have honestly never been so happy with a contractor or the results! In my mind,
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
are truly upstanding individuals.

While
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
frankly told me that they wouldn't guarantee significant home energy savings, my first gas heating bill after the work was completed said otherwise. Granted, my old windows were over twenty years old and didn’t fit well. But, the new ones obviously make a difference.

Sales Process: Overall, was pretty rocky. Sales person seemed new and couldn't really answer questions beyond his standard sales pitch. Original appointment was predicated on their ability to beat prior sales quotes from a company they had purchased. Initial estimate was actually much higher than that quote. After some initial discussion, sales person got the owner on the phone who made a good offer. We were able to agree on terms and price. This process made me very nervous and initially predisposed to distrust the provider. I would strongly encourage them to work on their approach and training for sales professionals before they visit a customer.
Installation:
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
was my installer. He was professional and courteous. He clearly knew what he was doing and took pride in his work. The new windows were in on the first day. He spent two additional days wrapping the exterior window frames with aluminum and I'm pleased with the appearance. We did have a bit of a rocky start on day 2. He had indicated that he would be on-site by 8 am but didn't show up until after 9. I had to call the office to enquire about his ETA. Seems that a new-hire didn't come in to work so he was delayed while waiting for him. I would have appreciated a courtesy call.
Product: This was confusing. The sales pitch was all about a 7000 series window which was a triple pane unit. I didn't want to spend that much money on this project but I did want some of the features (painted exterior, leaded caming, stainable interior finish) but in a double pane unit. When they arrived, the windows had stickers showing a 7000 series window but the warranty provided was for a 3000 series window. So, I'm still a bit confused as to what I actually just had installed.
Summary: End product looks great. Installer was excellent. Communication needs improvement across the board.

I'm being generous by giving
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and Doors a C. This window project was part of a larger project of windows, siding and roofing and was a long time in coming for me and a long time in planning, researching and pricing. It was a huge deal for me because this job was going to be part of transforming my home from an ugly duckling into a swan. I fully expected that my large investment in excellent windows would have been respected by this company.
I needed to be able to coordinate the window install with a different company doing the siding and roofing. The windows came in 10 weeks after the order was placed. I got no notice from the salesman as to when they would be coming in. I only got a message 10 weeks later saying that the windows were in. It made coordinating the siding-roofing install with the windows very difficult as he had promised that he would give me a heads up a few weeks ahead.
This company doesn't have to make the windows. All they have to do is install them. The installation was shameful. After a brief appearance by the head installer, he left the install and insulation process to two very inexperienced installers. On day two, the head installer was nowhere to be found. The fellow who was putting in the insulation was obviously not experienced and was doing a very incomplete job and barely getting the spray-in foam insulation to penetrate in the space between the window and the framing. There were big gaps everywhere because he was only spraying on the surface of the cracks. I had to complain to the salesman and the head installer because it was being done poorly.
I had
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and Doors also put in the inside stain-grade molding and aprons for each window. This was stain-grade molding and they knew that I was going to stain the molding not paint it. It needed to look good. Once again, the install of the inside molding was awful. Bad and sloppy mitering and so many holes nailed in with a nail gun into the aprons. It was horrible. I made them come back and do it again. I had two neighbors who were looking to have windows put in. When they saw what had been done on the finishing work, they decided to go with a different company. I will not be using this company to finish the other windows on my home nor to install windows in my other two houses.
The one thing that was done well was the capping on a very large window. Other than that, this very reputable company did not do well by my home. I guess they have all the business they want in more expensive neighborhoods.

Salesman was professional and knowledgeable. Loan process was quick and easy. The window installation experience was very frustrating because they didn't show up twice. Originally scheduled on a Saturday at 9 a.m. We tried calling the Installation Department a few times around 10 a.m. and no one returned our calls. Finally, around 11:00 a.m. the Installer called and said they'd be there around 1 p.m., but then called us again and cancelled because they had to finish another job. We rescheduled for next Thursday at 9 a.m. and my wife took off work. On Thursday, we received a call from the Manager and were told the Crew would be there at 10 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., they called my wife and said they were in St.
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and in route to our house and would be there at 10. Of course, once again nobody showed up. I called the office at 11 a.m. and was told that weather was causing delays. However, it wasn't raining in our area so I was skeptical and called our Sales Rep. According to the Sales Rep, the true reason was they were once again finishing other jobs and had to reschedule. The Sales Rep was very apologetic and claimed this has never happened (which is hard to believe). They rescheduled us again the following day between 8-10 a.m. My wife and I weren't home, but the windows did get installed and looked great. However, they didn't rehang our blinds and the hurricane shutters weren't done yet. The crew said they'd be back on Saturday to finish up at 12 p.m. To make a long story short, they didn't arrive until 5:15 p.m. and their own Crew was complaining to me that
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
stretches them too thin and there simply isn't enough time to complete all the work. Due to time constraints, I installed the blinds myself while the crew did the shutters.

PURE AWESOME!
I interviewed several major window installers in the local Seattle area and chose
Brewer Window Installers Provider Name Locked
after very careful consideration based on research, price and my BS meter. Of course everyone says their windows and installation process are the best but no one has 35 years of local service to reference from the same installers and same business owners over that entire period.
The job was beautifully done in a timely manner. They were professional and a very likable team. The two owners were here. One installs and the other is a carpenter with expert touch. They also had a 3rd guy who did most of the caulking and tear out.
All our windows had ugly tile for casements and since it's a 1955 built house there was water damage under some of them. They rebuilt the entire window encasement's with fur on the inside and cedar on the outside. The detail work was exceptional (see included pictures)! I must have complimented them a dozen times during their work. They picked up as they went and made sure not to let my dog out.
Conclusion:
When looking for window installation you'd be hurting yourself not to check with these guys first.
