"While negotiating the sale of a home, the buyers asked that we clean ad repair the gutters and have the properly sloped. I called
and they" went to the home within a couple of days and found no repairs were needed other than securing the gutters better to the fascia board. They cleaned the gutters and secured them and charged me $123. I live out of town and wasn't able to verify qualify of their work, but can attest to their honesty, since they obviously could have told me more work was necessary than what they found.

"My brother-in-law is a contractor, so he'd already told me exactly what I needed as far as more gutters on my house. Mr.
came out and" without knowing that I already knew what was appropriate he gave me the exact same feedback as my brother-in-law, even though he could have installed more and made more money. That earned my business. He did excellent work, finished in a day, and I'm pleased with the result.

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?
?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

The salesman was very responsive and prompt. My only issue is that half of my house had new gutters installed several years ago so we were only replacing the back half of the house and needed the new gutters to match the current ones on the front. I had two other companies provide pricing, both of which said our color was not the typical brown so they had to reach out to different suppliers to get a perfect match. The sales guy with D&B said it was a Royal Brown and that would match nearly perfectly. Knowing that the other two vendors both agreed it was not the normal brown, I specifically asked him two different times if the Royal Brown would match perfect and he assured me it would. I decided to move forward with D&B because they had the best pricing. Once the gutters were installed, it was very clear that the browns did not match. I reached out to my sales rep and he told me that our front gutters were actually painted. I know for a fact that these gutters were never painted because I watched them be installed several years ago. The moral of my story is for anyone reading this, if you are only replacing a portion of your gutters, be very cautious on the color they recommend, especially brown, and ask for a sample piece to look at before committing. Otherwise, the company was very good to work with and has excellent pricing.

Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
LLC installed gutter guards from TruGuard Gutter Protection in September 2010. Since that time, we have had to call
Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
to our home to repair the gutter guards because they have blown off the gutter and into our yard. Apparently, we have called one too many times. We had to call them out once again in early June. The repair man came out and said that the problem was that they were not installed correctly --- they were not attached in the correct manner or using the correct screws/nails. After that visit, it was impossible to get them to come out and make the repair. Either they didn't answer the phone, or they didn't return messages when left. When they finally returned a call -- now in late

-- they claim that the latest section that blew off was because of squirrels chewing the clips.
Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
claims that this is not under warranty because it is an act of God. They will, however, come out and repair the section for $250.
I refuse to pay for something that obviously should have been done correctly in the first place. In addition, the customer service has been lousy. Not returning calls!?!? Refusing to answer the phone (because they have Caller ID, I'm sure).
After spending thousands of dollars on windows, doors and gutter guards (which were nearly $4,000 for an average split-level home), we will not use
Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
again and recommend that others stay away from the company as well.

Mr.

's project manager was very responsive to my emails. They showed up on time and when they said they would and they worked very quickly and professionally. Mr.
Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
also exhibited great care over how the portico gutter would work, but we were both in agreement that this area needed a gutter to protect the foundation from water, etc. Without a gutter this portico looked great, but Mr.

and his team at
Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
made it look great with a gutter as well.
Whaleyville Gutter Repair Contractors Provider Name Locked
even coordinated to do a quick adjustment to the portico gutter downspouts almost 3 weeks after the install, to align with some under ground pipe I was having installed for these downspouts. His team was out this AM for a quick adjustment and were fast and efficient as usual. Overall I am very satisfied with the service I received from

and would recommend them to Angies List subscribers and will recommend them to my friends and family who needs this type of service.

The entire experience could not have gone better. We called for a quote and were able to get one within the week. We had several questions that were answered at that time. He addressed all of our concerns and gave us a couple of options to choose from. Once we contracted the job, they were able to schedule the job for the next week. We received a call on Monday to confirm the installation for first thing on Wednesday. They arrived on time and completed the job sooner than estimated. They even washed the fascia for us before installing the gutters and covers. We are very happy with our new gutters.

These guys did a great job. They were able to offer a high gauge aluminun on both gutters and downspouts. Also, a very unique option called "SpoutOff." We have a three-story house. I'm able to access the gutters on the lower half of the house but not the top level. The SpoutOff is an enlarged drain attached to a removable downspout; I can easily remove the entire downspout to inspect the drain opening.
Everyone worked very hard, cleaned up and hauled away all the old material. The new gutters look great and work perfectly.

Great job from start to finish, couldn't have asked for a better experience! My sales manager,
