Appliance Repair Reviews in Silver Spring

Great service company with superior technicians

Everything was excellent from scheduling to job completion.

These guys will always be my service company

- Bernard D.

Great service.
disassembled the freezer, cleaned out the ice, installed a repair part and reassembled the freezer.
was familiar with the problem which is apparently not uncommon on this type of frig. He fixed it just as recommended in an Internet article that I read on the subject except he saved us money by using a part that eliminated the need for ordering the manufacturer's repair "kit." He set out a cloth to protect the laminate kitchen floor and completed the job in what I thought was a pretty short time considering the number of pieces involved in the assembly and disassembly.
is experienced, knowledgable, and personable. He works calmly and very efficiently. Very reasonable price. I will use him again and recommend him to friends.

Appliance Repair reviews in Silver Spring

Same-day response to my phone call, appointment scheduled next day.
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
arrived exactly on time, examined the dryer, explained why the older ones are often better and repaired it, replacing several parts, all for a completely reasonable charge. Also talked with us about appliance repair generally - really informative and helpful. Will definitely use

We emailed
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
via our Angie's List account on Monday or Tuesday and they responded very promptly and came out that Saturday. Their scheduling was very flexible and we just stated a time and date and they made it happen. As promised, the technician called 30 minutes before arriving and came within the 3-hour window they committed to. The technician looked at the problem with the freezer, diagnosed it within minutes, went to the truck to get his equipment, and quickly went to work. He was also very friendly with our kids and my sister's kids who were all trying to "help." Within 30 minutes, the problem was fixed. Then, he checked the washer and there was actually no mechanical issue with it. All in all, we were pretty happy.
The only "complaint" that we would voice is that for something that required no parts and seemed relatively quick to fix, the price seemed rather hight ($187 to fix the freezer). It's definitely better than
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, but compared to plumbing work we had done recently for $225 that involved cutting pipes, sautering, and about 2 labor hours, it seemed rather pricey. I know it's comparing apples to oranges, but considering the time and effort, it just seemed disproportionate.

Complete rip off!!!!
When initially contacted on phone I explained the symptoms and was told that the service call would be $85 plus whatever part was needed to fix the oven.
He showed up took my oven apart and then told me I would need a bake igniter and the repair would cost $429.
$164 for the part, $180 for labor, and $85 for service call.
He said he had the part in his truck and was prepared to do the job if I agreed to the price.
When I asked him why the price was so high he said he would have to access the part from the back of the oven which would require at least 2 hours of labor. He also would not apply the cost of the service call towards the repair.
Feeling pressured, I expressed my dissatisfaction, had him put the
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
back together, and paid his $85
After he left I looked up the problem and it turned out to be a common problem which could be fixed easily without opening the back of the oven in about 30 mins. The igniter cost $68 and I did the repair myself which took me 30 minutes.
I feel that him taking apart my oven and then presenting me with an outrageous estimate was a shakedown. And him needing to take both doors off (double oven) and open the back was for dramatic effect. Also the
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
up from $68 to $164 for the part was gouging.
He also went back on his initial word to apply the $85 service call towards the repair.
Avoid this company!!!

My GE side by side stopped cooling altogether on the 28th of May. I went directly to Angie's List and made contact with
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
. I got an email right away asking me to call and set up an appointment, which I did.
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
, my tech came the next day the 29th at 12:00 noon. He called before arriving to let me know that he was on route. Once he had evaluated what was problem, he wrote up what needed to be done and the cost. The estimate was more than I expected, but I had printed out a $55.00 coupon that the company offered. I was so pleased that I had the coupon and pleased that I did not have to buy a new refrigerator! I will call
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
again if need be and ask for

, who was a very professional worker. I supplied him with a hair dryer, towel and a pot of hot water and he did job!

The good news is that he came as promised, proceeded to diagnose the problem, and quickly fixed it. Service was entirely satisfactory. Based on my experience with other providers, I thought the cost was too high. The $50 Coupon provided in Angie's list reduced the cost to $174, which is still somewhat higher that expected. I felt that the Angie's list coupon was provided as a come-on, and was used by the company to inflate its prices to compensate.
Other than price, the service was entirely satisfactory

We have been using Mr.
Silver Spring Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
to repair our appliances for many years. He is a pleasure to work with. He is easy to talk to and listens to what you say. He is very honest; he will tell you when it's time to "put your old appliances out of misery" because the cost of the repair is just not worth it. Our experience has been there's never anything to clean up when he leaves and he guarantees his work.
- Joy L.

They communicated well, were very easy to work with to schedule a time for someone to come out and look at the washing machine, and the cost was actually quite reasonable for what they did. I would certainly use them again in the future if I had an appliance repair issue.

The first time we used this company it was in late 2012 after our very old stacked unite washer/dryer combo died. The technician was very honest about the fact that repair just was not cost effective, and gave thoughtful suggestions for a replacement product based on his expertise. We purchased a unit based on this advice and were very happy. The price to come look a the broken unit for possible repair was very reasonable, I think around $60.
The second time we called this company, it was after our dishwasher, which was only about 18 months old and just past its 1 year warranty, stopped working. It was frustrating that a relatively new product was broken, but the technican explained that ever since manufacturers switched to computer-based controls, sometimes the console computer breaks too soon and needs replaced. I asked his opinion on spending $175 on parts and labor versus replacement, expressing concern about the same repair being needed again in another 18 months. He was very honest and said in his experience, about 15% to 20% of the consoles have the defect that create the short lifespan and so it was a possibility that we could have the same problem, although not as likely as a repair taking care of it. He said we should think about whether we thought we would rather replace, but I told him to go ahead and order the part. The part came very quickly and he was very efficient about coming over and repairing the dishwasher.
As a side note, we have a big dog, and the technician was not dog-averse and was actually very friendly with our animal which I personally appreciate in a service provider.
