Rockville Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
was the most expensive of three bids we received but I felt most comfortable with the quality of work they would do.

installed the plates/retrofitting on the date agreed upon. The city inspector came and approved the retrofitting and gave us the permit for the work.

, the owner, later came by to check on the work. He said that some secondary anchors had not been installed where they should have been. Even though the inspector had already approved the job,
Rockville Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
followed up by having his workers put additional secondary anchors in. I appreciated his follow-through and desire to have the job done right even though I wouldn't have known the difference.
Later I had a question about whether plates should have been flush against the foundation (it turned out the foundation was curved/convex so they couldn't be flush), and

came by the next day to check them out.

This went perfectly. It was done in one day - the same day the contractor said it would be done. It cost the same price as estimated. They went out of their way to get things done early because I was having an event that evening. The work was neat and there was no damage to my property nothing to clean us.

was well informed and able to communicate clearly what work was entailed and answer my questions about the process.

Rockville Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
was very professional and honest in his assessment that I probably did not need any services performed. I was very impressed by his integrity. I would recommend
Rockville Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
to others because of being able to trust that they are not trying to just make money off their clients, but are genuinely trying to determine what is in their clients' best interests. Actual inspection of the house by another company confirmed

We got a couple of quotes, and
Rockville Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
's was the least expensive. He does all of the work himself, so you aren't paying for a middle man. We originally looked are doing ours from the basement, but the basement is finished and it was easier to do it from the outside. Our house is in Irvington, so we had to go through a historic design review.

handled all of that and the city permitting. He was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process, and I would certainly recommend him to others.

It was a task that required them to be innovative and creative. In spite of the lawyers of tile and cement, and the random HOLE that went all they way through, they never ventured from the estimate. They were punctual, hard working, and very enjoyable.

There was a $150 minimum charge for Mr.
Rockville Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
to come out, that would be applied to repairs if we decided to proceed with his suggestion. He provided a quote within a week of his visit. We have not taken any action to complete the repair, to date.

Three men came out to assess damage and later provided a quote. We decided not to proceed with the work suggested, at this time.

The company proved a bit difficult to contact initially. I later discovered that their office hours were limited to weekday mornings, which was not very compatible with my available hours. Once contacted, they came out and performed an initial survey of the house and offered both advice and took extensive notes. After consulting with their engineer they provided an estimate of the work required, and agreed to accommodate my request to move items in storage out of the way and replace them when done. This was not the low bid provider, but the professionalism and demonstrated knowledge convinced me that they were the best qualified bidder to perform the work.
Scheduling was performed via e-mail, phone messages, and regular mail. They answered my questions on preparation and showed up on time for the construction work. There was some internal communication failure about moving things, but they worked through the issue quickly and professionally, and apologized for their error when they discovered it was in the contract. It's not something they normally do but it saved a great deal of hassle for us.
The work proceeded smoothly with little dust and less noise than we expected. They finished in 2 1/2 days, ahead of expected schedule without rushing. The quality of workmanship was excellent, including pulling off plywood in the garage and re-installing it. It is hard to tell where this was done. In the basement, we now have special brackets every four feet all the way around the house. They also worked through some difficult to access locations with special brackets and blocking. The central support wall was also bolted down and clipped to the joists. Other challenges included dealing with a steel I beam and an attached sun room. Where the bolts stuck out in areas that they could be snagged, they sawed the excess off and filed the stub smooth. The outcome looks very professional and meets my exacting standards.
The project passed the city inspection with no issues found, and they provided support documentation for my insurance. Overall we are very happy with the service and the outcome.
