"Brought bolting of 1928 home up to code. I give the highest recommendation to this company and
who assessed the project and professionally" managed it. The workers that came to the house were efficient, considerate of my time, and cleaned up any mess created as a result of the work. I found Zac on a You Tube video and was impressed with his presentation. I made an appointment with him for a quote. The quote for the work done was reasonable and Zac was also very personable-just as he was on the video. Check him out on You Tube if you are seeking a bolting company! This is my first Angie review and I recommend that anyone needing bolting or an assessment for bolting on their propetry, contact this company and specifically ask for Zac.

"
and his team were awesome. Because of my budget, I needed to do some of the work and
was really good at explaining" what I needed to do.
's team did the work that i couldn't do and they did a great job. I would prefer to have had affix do the whole project. Its not easy doing this work in a crawlspace. I would hire
and his team again in second. They are really good!

This was a livingsocial or Groupon deal ( I frankly cannot recall exactly). I think it was a half price deal for one or two hours of handyman service. It was a little bit difficult getting time set up to do the work. Everyone was professional. We also got a very complete estimate on some carpentry involving another project.

came to our house to determine an estimate for the work. I am remodeling the basement and I was willing to do the demolition work necessary for him to install the necessary structural ties. I am also doing the finish work after the work was completed.

oversaw the entire process, coming personally to work sometimes when his workers were sick or he needed to check on some things. He showed me all aspects of the work. When wood rot or other problems were uncovered during the retrofit
installation,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
was very careful and up front to show me the issues, tell me the additional costs involved, and get my permission to perform the necessary work. His workers were very responsible, cleaning up after themselves every day and working under some uncomfortable conditions (low crawl space, damp and cold areas in the basement) without complaint. They bolted the frame of my house to the concrete foundation and restored my walls to their original condition (replacing wallboard), corrected earlier building errors, tied down my water heater, had a subcontractor install an automatic shut off valve for my gas supply, and followed through with required inspections. I was completely satisfied and fully appreciated their conscientious work on my home.

is run by two brothers,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
does the estimate, pricing, etc and
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
leads the work team to do the actual retrofitting. Overall, my experience with them was excellent inspire of them having underestimated the "patch-up" work that was needed.
During the initial visit,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
was extremely professional and did a very complete inspection of the house. He clearly explained what was needed and what was not and was very upfront about any issues he thought might be encountered when they opened up. I was also very happy to learn that they patch up everything (i.e.: you do not have to hire someone separate to put the basement's ceiling back in order). They were not the cheapest of the contractors we contacted but I felt I would get better value.
When
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
came to work on the house, the whole team was very professional and they cleaned up after themselves everyday (and boy was there a lot of dust). They made sure to cover everything properly to minimize the dust on items in the basement. It's very loud by the way so if you get this done, make sure you are *out* of the house. They arrived punctually and finished the main work in the time they had estimated. They also found some evidence of water penetration and agreed to not close it up until I had it looked at (they came back several months later to finish things up which was very nice).
The only slight hiccup was when the time came to patch up everything (basically close the ceiling back up).
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
had greatly underestimated its cost. He was, however, willing to negotiate a bit and we came to an agreement. They did do a great job though and didn't think it was possible to patch up a plaster ceiling that well. It looks better now than when they first got here.
So overall, great experience: professional, cordial and very responsive. I strongly recommend them.

It all went amazingly well.
They arrived for job estimation on time. They clearly discussed available options. The bid was deliverd as promised and explained in detail the work to be done. After acceptance of the bid, during preparation for the work, I discovered a rotted sill plate that wasn't visible until I had removed some old ductwork. Concerned that correction would involve another contractor and affect the start date, I called
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
. Their response was that they could readily deal with the problem and we agreed the additional work would be conducted on a time and materials basis and they estimated an additional day or two of work.
The workers arrived promptly on the scheduled date. All work was done in the basement, and they were able to work around shelving units and other obstacles. They jacked up one side of the house slightly to allow removal of the rotted plate and arranged to have a new one (which was an unusual size because of our 1919 house) custom milled. While waiting for the new plate, they worked in other areas. Work proceeded quickly and efficiently. Though the noise of the hammer drill quickly got old, they had warned us in advance and suggested vacating the house during the construction. Since we had two cats, we elected to stay. Work was completed on time per the schedule modifications to account for the additional work. They cleaned up thoroughly. In spite of the dust from the drilling, it may be that the space was cleaner when they left than when they started.
Given the scope of additional work, I was amazed how little upcharge was involved. It has now been a little over six months since the work was completed and we have noted no cracks in our lath and plaster walls as a result of jacking up the house. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
. In summary, we found them to be
- Good problem solvers
- Cost effective
- Fast & efficient
- Highly professional

showed up and went through the work that was to be completed. Their bid was very competitive. The work was done on a rental property that I don't live at. Since the men did not need to go inside any of the units and the building was a some distance from me, I only showed up for one day of the work.

received from the city the necessary permits and finished the job in 3-4 days. I was there for the city's inspection. The city inspector did not go under the crawl space to view the work, but

and its principal,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked

Soetenga have everything you would want in a construction company: expertise and experience in the kind of work
you want done (earthquake retrofitting), a take-charge/can-do attitude, the
ability to keep the promises they make, the professionalism to do the work in a
timely manner, a hard-working, diligent, competent, respectful crew of workers,
and the ability to complete the job on time, for the price they promise. Given that we do not know what is required to
provide adequate earthquake retrofitting,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
took the time to explain the
technical details of the process, in plain English, which provided the
reassurance that the job was going to be done correctly, and we trust it has
been. Most important,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
and his
whole team have a great attitude: one of
service, professionalism, and courtesy towards their customers. I would recommend them mostly highly for the
work they did for us, and their attitude in doing the work.
