is run by two brothers,
does the estimate, pricing, etc and
leads the work team to do the" actual retrofitting. Overall, my experience with them was excellent inspire of them having underestimated the "patch-up" work that was needed. During the initial visit,
was extremely professional and did a very complete inspection of the house. He clearly explained what was needed and what was not and was very upfront about any issues he thought might be encountered when they opened up. I was also very happy to learn that they patch up everything (i.e.: you do not have to hire someone separate to put the basement's ceiling back in order). They were not the cheapest of the contractors we contacted but I felt I would get better value. When
came to work on the house, the whole team was very professional and they cleaned up after themselves everyday (and boy was there a lot of dust). They made sure to cover everything properly to minimize the dust on items in the basement. It's very loud by the way so if you get this done, make sure you are *out* of the house. They arrived punctually and finished the main work in the time they had estimated. They also found some evidence of water penetration and agreed to not close it up until I had it looked at (they came back several months later to finish things up which was very nice). The only slight hiccup was when the time came to patch up everything (basically close the ceiling back up).
had greatly underestimated its cost. He was, however, willing to negotiate a bit and we came to an agreement. They did do a great job though and didn't think it was possible to patch up a plaster ceiling that well. It looks better now than when they first got here. So overall, great experience: professional, cordial and very responsive. I strongly recommend them.

"It all went amazingly well. They arrived for job estimation on time. They clearly discussed available options. The bid was deliverd as promised and explained" in detail the work to be done. After acceptance of the bid, during preparation for the work, I discovered a rotted sill plate that wasn't visible until I had removed some old ductwork. Concerned that correction would involve another contractor and affect the start date, I called
. Their response was that they could readily deal with the problem and we agreed the additional work would be conducted on a time and materials basis and they estimated an additional day or two of work. The workers arrived promptly on the scheduled date. All work was done in the basement, and they were able to work around shelving units and other obstacles. They jacked up one side of the house slightly to allow removal of the rotted plate and arranged to have a new one (which was an unusual size because of our 1919 house) custom milled. While waiting for the new plate, they worked in other areas. Work proceeded quickly and efficiently. Though the noise of the hammer drill quickly got old, they had warned us in advance and suggested vacating the house during the construction. Since we had two cats, we elected to stay. Work was completed on time per the schedule modifications to account for the additional work. They cleaned up thoroughly. In spite of the dust from the drilling, it may be that the space was cleaner when they left than when they started. Given the scope of additional work, I was amazed how little upcharge was involved. It has now been a little over six months since the work was completed and we have noted no cracks in our lath and plaster walls as a result of jacking up the house. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with
. In summary, we found them to be - Good problem solvers - Cost effective - Fast & efficient - Highly professional

The whole job took about 2 1/2 days. They arrived on time and the crew worked really well with a minimum of disruption. The company pulled the proper permit and it was signed off by the City of Los

The work went very smoothly.

showed up and went through the work that was to be completed. Their bid was very competitive. The work was done on a rental property that I don't live at. Since the men did not need to go inside any of the units and the building was a some distance from me, I only showed up for one day of the work.

Soetenga have everything you would want in a construction company: expertise and experience in the kind of work
you want done (earthquake retrofitting), a take-charge/can-do attitude, the
ability to keep the promises they make, the professionalism to do the work in a
timely manner, a hard-working, diligent, competent, respectful crew of workers,
and the ability to complete the job on time, for the price they promise. Given that we do not know what is required to
provide adequate earthquake retrofitting,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
took the time to explain the
technical details of the process, in plain English, which provided the
reassurance that the job was going to be done correctly, and we trust it has
been. Most important,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
and his
whole team have a great attitude: one of
service, professionalism, and courtesy towards their customers. I would recommend them mostly highly for the
work they did for us, and their attitude in doing the work.

The ceiling texture turned out great. He had to texture a larger area than expected to make it look good, but didn't charge anything extra for his time. Termite damaged wood was a very small patch and matches the surrounding area. Earthquake shut off is in as planned.

Contractor was very responsive during the scheduling process. Had to reschedule a couple times due to my schedule and he was very accommodating. I really liked him - he seemed knowledgeable, interested, and helpful. Scheduled him to come out and replace 5 light fixtures with 6 canned lights (adding one location with easy access to power), also hoped to get in a couple other small tasks. I purchased the cans and lights and one dimmer switch. Two guys came out and a couple of the locations could not be replaced due to placement of the beams so was hoping to get the other 4 installed. It took 3.5 hours (with 2 guys so 7 man hours) just to do the 3 cans in the kitchen and the dimmer switch. It seemed like the one guy worked while the other supervised. He did make one trip to the hardware store. I felt I really only got half the time I paid for. The work was quality and maybe I would use them again if I had the money to spend. But with these specials, I was looking for a deal :)

We have a small house (1000 sq. ft) built in 1946. We'd been meaning to strap the house to the foundation for 10 years, and the Napa quake in August 2014 finally got us to do it. I called in September, and
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
came out within a couple of weeks to do the estimate. He was nice and professional. The estimate was 10,500, and this was the final cost of the job.
They were busy with other jobs, so they didn't get to our job until late November. There were three workers and they finished the job in a week. The arrived between 8:00 and 8:30 each morning, and finished by 3. The workers were efficient, clean, nice, and professional.
We are very happy with the work that was done, and also very happy with
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
. It was a very good experience, and we'd use them again for any contractor needs.

Got estimate on 9/18/14 & scheduled for Nov. soon afterwards. I was coming to the house from out of town for one week (fixing up the house prior to our moving in) in Nov. A little more than a week prior to our appt.,
Owings Mills Seismic Retrofit Provider Name Locked
called & asked if he could reschedule. I gave him the dates of the week I was going to be in town and told him "anytime that week". He said that didn't work out with his schedule and we would keep things as they were. He was to be there my last full day at the house. No show. No call. I texted him later in the afternoon (9 a.m. appt.) & he called me. Said he "guessed I didn't fit in his calendar for the day". Barely an apology. No request for rescheduling appt. I rely on Angie's List for many things as I have been working on this house periodically prior to moving. I didn't get him off

, but rather, just looking on the internet. I am writing this review as I think this "service" was dreadful and my first bad experience in all the many things I've had done with our new home. If he didn't want the job, he could have done both of us a service and just said so earlier.
