"They left my property in better condition than when they arrived-which is saying a lot if anyone has had tree service. The largest tree was 20 feet from my pool" and nothing
in the pool. Even the leaves were fished out immediately.
is very knowlegable and extremely easy to work with on projects. I intend to have
back for more work and have already recommended him to several friends. He was referred to me by Pool Service who works with very wealthy and particular clients.

was a no call-no show for me on several occasions. At first they missed the estimate day when I worked from home. I forgave them then my" name wasn't on their board and they forgot about me. They promised to come out 1-2 days later. The person providing estimate showed up 2 days later and demonstrated good knowledge of trees and I verbally agreed to $1050 charge ($900 for tree removal and $150 for stump grinding). Two emailed estimates never made it to me, so I just verbally agreed and was put on schedule. I then took off the day for the actual tree removal. I was home until noon and no one showed up. I was supposed to be first removal of the day! I called the office several times and no one answered because one receptionist was on vacation and they didn't have any back-up for phones. I was then called back between 12-1 and told I would be on the list next. No one showed. I called again and they said weather was moving in and they couldn't get to me. So now I managed to stay home from 7AM-5PM on a day off. Please note - there wasn't one drop of rain that day, just clouds rolling in. I gave up an entire day at my home. I called to complain and they promised to come out in the future, but didn't set a date. Again, I called every day on my vacation between
24-31 so they this could be resolved when I returned to town. The receptionist said she wouldn't leave until I received a call back. No one ever called. So yesterday they are removing a tree in my neighborhood, on my exact street, 5 homes away, and I call again. No one calls me back. Wanted to give them one final
to change me to a customer and tell them my plans for this review. I have never given a bad review in my life. So I call another company last night (
) and he said he actually apologize for what I have been through and he would be pleased to have my business and he plans to come to my home on his day off. Now THAT is outstanding customer service. I am really not interested in any canned reply how they will investigate this and do the right thing and get back with me because they had 15 opportunities to get back with me.

4 Situations Where You Need a Professional Tree Trimmer

Not sure if you should trim your own trees? Sometimes your tree problem is best left to a pro whose is trained in maintenance and other complex issues.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Mt. Airy

Day one he was late. He was having equipment difficulty and didn't get started until 9. When he got there, he and his work mate got straight to work and I headed to my work leaving them to it. I was feeling pretty nervous when he said that due to the equipment problem, he could only give me 1/2 a day and I figured I'd end up with 1/2 a days work out of him and he'd still charge me for a full day. Well I came home that evening and not only was the tree down and most of the trees trimmed, but the roof, which had been COVERED in tree litter from storms before we bought the house, was swept clean. The wood from the tree was exactly where we asked him to put it. There was a mess on the ground, but knees up, everything looked much better. When I came home from the second days work, everything was cleaned up, more had been trimmed, and my trees looked so much better. And the bill was for what he quoted me which was less than the other four bids I got. I'll have him back again. Aside from the equipment problem, one of the branches he trimmed fell on our cable line and disconnected our cable. Koree called

I bought a coupon, knowing that we needed some dead hanging tree limbs cut down. A salesman came out, was courteous and punctual, and he looked at the limbs, and said that the whole tree needed to come down, and it was big, with several trunks all together. He said it was dying.
The estimate for that was over $3000, if I remember right. There seemed to be all sorts of issues with heavy trucks accessing the tree, and it was near a stream - more of a run off from the street that was wet after a rain, and in the spring. But it seemed that there were so many very difficult issues with this one tree. And, essentially, they couldn't come and remove the one limb.
The cost was just too much, and actually, the next spring, the tree grew and was alive, and while it's old, it does not seem to be dying at all. There is just a limb that has broken and it is hanging, still.
Since I still had this unused coupon, I called again and asked if there were any trimming service that we could use the money from the coupon, something that would cost $400, and they said they didn't do any jobs that small.
The coupon expired and I paid them $233 for absolutely nothing. I guess it was my risk in assuming incorrectly that we would be able to use the coupon for something, but I was left feeling very disappointed that they did not want to work with us.
I will not do that again.

was very responsive to come out and give an estimate. He was incredibly detailed and willing to take time to discuss all of the aspects of our yard. We agreed on the job and a price and were told we would be schedule for work in the next couple weeks. I did need to follow up a couple times to get a concrete date for the work to be done, but it was scheduled within 2 weeks and they were prompt and did a great job when they arrived.

also let me apply an Angieslist coupon after we scheduled the job, which made it an even better value. All in all, we were very satisfied.

I had previously obtained two quotes for this work. One for $500 and one for $560; the $500 quote is from a company I found on Angie's List. The Eager

Please note that I am only reviewing on the price and only because it was nearly twice the amount of the next highest quote.

We are extremely pleased with the tree work

completed. We had two bids for the trimming of several trees (many very tall eucalyptus) on our 3/4 acre property.

quote was similar to the other bidder for some parts of the job, and higher for others. We decided to use both companies for different parts of the job (front yard and back).

crew was very careful with the surrounding smaller trees and shrubs. The other company left us with a lot of collateral damage to deal with ourselves. I wish now that we had had

Very professional. Very reasonable price for the services rendered. Crew was respectful to property, cleaned everything up when they were done and were very quick. I was very impressed.
