"I have to agree with a previous review, Nick’s Tree Service is a well oil machine. They take their profession seriously all the way from their employees to" the equipment they use to get the job done. The tree we needed removed was a 70-80 year old pecan tree with about 80% of the branches over our house. With all the lifting of limbs over the house that weighed 1000 pounds or more, not one bit of damage to the roof or the house. Nick’s was the best bid and was also recommend. One thing that impressed me about Nick’s was the crane and the cherry picker needed to be placed in my neighbor’s driveway. Nick’s placed multiple layers of heavy duty plywood to displace the weight of the stabilizers and leveling
. No damage was done to the driveway and minimal damage to the yard. Other than the tree being gone and a big pile of mulch from the stump grinding (which I asked them to leave) you would have never know they were there.

"They did an awesome job and I was so impressed with their work. My trees look beautiful after they were done. They worked hard and cleaned up everything. I will" recommend
to everyone I know that needs tree service.

Hiring to Trim Trees? A How-to Guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

Trees depend on soil for a variety of needs, including water, anchorage and nutrients required to thrive.

While summer storms offer a welcome break from the heat or much needed water for a garden, they can wreak havoc after they’ve left.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

first comes to evaluate the situation, make recommendations, note down exactly what needs to be done, and quote a price. He exudes knowledge of trees. Since we had used them a couple of times before and knew how good they were and how much cheaper (and better, I think, as it turned out) they were than the Cambridge Landscape, we were just glad they could come in a few days. We got neighbors on the street behind us to leave their driveway free the day

's was coming, so they could park their big cup lift equipment truck there. As before, they arrived with a hard-working, efficient crew and impressive equipment. In addition to the lift, which had a very long, jointed, pivoting arm from truck to the man-carrier, thus able to put one of the guys pretty much anywhere in the large tree with his power saw and hand saw, there was a major league wood chipper parked in our driveway. One guy threw a rope over a branch to pull himself up into the tree, so two of them were working in the tree, while a couple of others were kept busy hauling the cut branches to the grinder. They made sure I was satisfied that they's done all I wanted before quitting. Every bit they cut off was hauled off.
- Robert E.

The crew arrived on time and the work was completed. Clean up was thorough. The only reason that I would not use them again is due to cost.

Excellent job. Protected lawn where chipper was placed . These shrubs had got out of hand. They had to use a wrench to pull them to chipper. Could not ask for a better

This was such a great experience we will make sure to recommend

to anyone needing tree services. They were prompt professional and polite. They had a large crew which made the work go by very quickly and went above and beyond what I had asked by trimming back several trees touching power lines but keeping a clean look for the trees. The price was very reasonable for the amount of worked we requested and we couldn't be happier. If you need work done stop looking and call them!
- Caitlin M.

Outstanding service.....arrived on time and immediately went to work....Workers trimmed trees and removed all debris Workers were able to answer all questions regarding services provided and future needs that might need to be addressed.
Will only call this company in the future... Their work speaks for itself......
