Window Replacement Reviews in Mount Airy

We heard of them through a neighbor. We got three different bids. They had the lowest price, but we did not choose them for that reason. They talked to us to know exactly what we wanted. The installation went very well. They were more than willing to work with me. They bent over backwards to get what we wanted.

Overall experience was excellent.
, the owner of the company was very thorough in explaining the process, showed me several samples of windows and quoted a very reasonable price. Installers were on time and did a great job of installing the windows and cleaning up after themselves.

Window Replacement reviews in Mount Airy

This company is the best. We called over 25 contractors and only 3 would give us quotes given the "limited scope" of the work. Most contractors weren't interested, didn't return our calls or failed to show up to appointments even when the scope of work was explained. This company was not only willing to do the work, but worked directly with our insurance company to help get our claim resolved. They even met with the insurance adjuster. The work was very well done, the prices reasonable and the customer service outstanding. Our salesman,

, went out of his way to help us and was always prompt in responding to us. He followed up throughout the project. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again or recommend them. Outstanding in every way!!!!

I called the company and they agreed to provide a free estimate. They set up an appointment to come a few days later. My husband took off from work to meet the company at 3:00, the time the company provided. The company supposedly came in the morning and never notified us they changed the time. Upon speaking with the company, they only looked at siding damage. They promised to come the next day while we were at work to look at the rest of the damage. We never heard from them again. One week later we called and were told by a rude receptionist that we needed the name of the estimator (which we didn't have because he came when we weren't there). She found out who is was and told us we had to call his cell phone directly. After two messages and three weeks, we still haven't heard from them. This company is completely unprofessional. If they didn't want the work, they should have just told us so.

I attempted to contact this company to receive a quote to get a large portion of siding and roofing replaced as well as four windows due to recent home damage. The company promptly made an appointment. I left work early to meet the contractor. Not only did he not show, the company did not return two messages I left for them. If the company doesn't want the work that's fine, but they shouldn't set up an appointment and not show up. If some situation prevents their arrival, they should at least call. Not showing up and then not returning two messages is completely unprofessional; especially considering I had to leave work early to meet with them!

They provided me with detailed drawings before doing work, handled themselves very professionally gave a lifetime guarantee that is transferable if house is sold. They also handled financing of job.

This is the second time we have used Energy Crafters. The first time he replaced our kitchen windows and installed a new kitchen door. This job included have to create walls and install siding. We were so pleased with the work he initially did we had him replace our front windows. Once again the job was done in a timely manner and with outstanding quality. Our windows look fantastic.

and his sons are professional, courteous, dependable and trustworthy. They were here when they said they would be and they worked hard the entire time. He works with you and has great suggestions to help a couple compromise.
We are so pleased with the work he has done we are getting ready to have Energy Crafters install gutters on our house. When the budget permits we will most certainly have them replace some of our other windows.
If you are looking for a fair and honest contractor call Energy Crafters - you won't be sorry.

Boy - purchasing replacement windows is much like buying a used car but worse!
When you call around looking for quotes from different vendors I was beset with "...your wife needs to be there when the salesperson comes...." Warning flag #1. What other business are you familar with that has this type of requirement. The reason they want both parties there so you can receive the hard sell.
When I set up the appointment with Mr.

The crew of three men came at 10 AM or so and they were gone by 5 PM. Very professional crew and they did a quality installation.

were extremely punctual.....started right at 730am.......didn't waste a bit of time. They work together like a well-oiled machine. We were amazed at the speed they were putting the windows in. I can't even find a speck of caulk out of place. The windows all look great from outside and in. They usually install thermal industries windows.....and thats what we went with. Solid windows....seem well made. Most of the windows were standard double hung......however a double casement and a Garden window was put in the kitchen. We really like the garden window .....and glad we paid the extra $$ to do. Can't say enough about the work they did. I hope people will read this......and realize that the bigger companies are not always better. Go OLD SCHOOL and get the high skilled guys that do the work themselves...get what you pay for !! Kudos to Broad Run

We reached out to a couple of the local window/doors companies in the area. We listened fairly to each person present their products to us, and give us their sales pitches. We advised each sales person of the situation of the water penetrating into the house/walls all over the front of the house and the basement. A couple of them told us we probably only needed to caulk existing windows/doors while sitting at the table talking to us, and still presented pricing and window/door options for the areas affected. I'd have to say that Supremes rep,

, before even talking numbers and products to us asked for us to show him all the areas affected (inside and outside parts of the house). So we showed him the drywall areas we had to pull off the wall and when we told him water got into the basement also he asked to see that. To this point to me i was like he is just trying to figure what he can upsell us on with his product line--as most sales people do. Well

started offering suggestions to stop the leaks, and even told us we didn't need to replace the door or bay window especially since pricing was a major concernt to us after just moving into the house. He did not recommend replacing them due to the significant costs and to just caulk some of the areas and rewrap some of the other areas --to which he pointed exactly where to place the caulk and said I could do it myself fairly easy. He presented his windows and advised of current upgrade to triple pane. We have seen a few presentations on windows and at a certain point on the consumer side they all really sound the same after a while, especially when replacing a leaking wood window from 1988. So anything these days should be better than what we have. Like others said in previous reviews he wrote the whole contract out, left it with us to review and compare. Other companies left their numbes on the back of a business card.
Windows came in the allotted time frame of 4-6 weeks, we had thanksgiving week through the 4-6week range so they may have gotten to us sooner if the holiday week wasn't there. Installation was scheduled for monday. Sunday they called for rain in the forecast, we got a call from

asking to reschedule to Tuesday or Wednesday pending on the weather. I had no problem with that since the last thing we want is more water IN the walls. Crew showed up on Tuesday as expected, little later than time frame given however in Balt/Dc area we allow for extra time when crossing either beltways at rush hour so not really an issue on my end knowing their travel locations. They did seem to pass on lunch, or ate when they were working...i didn't see them stop for lunch even if they did.
I was home for the installation on both days and after the first day was not all impressed with how the windows were looking. Saw lots of gaps and just very unfinished and drafty. HOWEVER had to keep telling myself that that was only day 1 and they were finishing up on day 2. Day 2 the windows started looking much better with them sealing them in. So my advice to others having windows installed, try not to watch the middle process of the installation because it will make you uneasy seeing the gaps between the windows and the walls. They did fill with insulation foam and trim pieces and caulk to make them MUCH more presentable--so homeoners watch begning and look again at the end or esle you will not sleep easy thinking they will stay that way. :)
The finished product looks much nicer and the extra areas they wrapped and caulked for us in the deal came out nice as well. The workers that came (

) were very personable and courteous to a homeowners needs... They offer to take shoes off and we had dogs so they were aware when going in/out the doors that the dogs were trying to get out with them as well.
All in all I would probably use these guys again for the remaining windows of the house, if we ever NEED to replace them....or can afford to. I like the guarantee we have with the product and installation (if needed). I feel we won't have any future leaks with these windows, but if we do I feel confident they will be by to repair them.
