"Prompt scheduling; Fair Quote; Driver called 30 minutes ahead and arrived on time; Baby Grand was prepped and secured within 15 minutes; the Movers were courteous and professional" - they knew exactly what they were doing: with excellent teamwork and great care, the piano was moved. We only needed to move it 8 miles. Within an hour, the move was completed to our satisfaction and the piano looks like it has always been in the place it was moved to. The company also provides tuning and restoring services. We have an assessment scheduled. I highly recommend
for piano moving. Not only do they do a great job in taking care of every detail, they are a family run local business with many years of experience and it shows!

"I am a professional full-time piano teacher, have a doctoral degree in music, and have taken a piano tuning/regulation class at ASU. So, why did I hire
instead" of tune it myself? One tuning class does not make me a professional piano technician, and I want what is best for my piano. There is a big difference between what I call a “hobbyist tuner” and someone like
who is a registered piano technician with lots of credentials and experience. My typical piano tuning experience back with a different piano in another state at my parent’s house hasn’t been as good as my experience with
. I tried two different tuners and wasn’t quite satisfied with them. They probably were not official registered piano technicians and were more of a “hobbyist tuner” looking to make some easy extra money. I thought that I would do that too after taking the tuning class, but after meeting
, I realized that to do the job right, I would have to commit a lot of money and time to learning a trade—and it’s more than just a “
tuning.” Here are some of the differences I noticed between
and some of the “hobbyist tuners” I’ve encountered. A typical “hobbyist tuner” tunes the piano, collects their money, and leaves. There’s more to a piano than keeping the strings in tune. If the piano has a faulty pinblock, it doesn’t matter who tunes the piano, it’s not going to stay in tune. A “hobbyist tuner” will be likely ignorant of this and just tune the piano for the money not caring that the piano might not even be worth tuning. Most people
’t know otherwise. None of the previous “tuners” pointed out flaws, quirks about my piano, or educated me about maintaining the instrument—but they are happy to tell me that my piano is beautiful and play a little piece when they are done tuning. I hired
to not only do a restoration tuning, but also some maintenance work. I recently purchased a new piano from Craigslist for my piano lessons business, and I wanted a professional opinion. I knew that having a well-maintained piano makes a huge difference in keeping students in lessons.
came and did an inspection for free (but only because he was in the area), and the actual price of his work ($300) turned out to be less than what he quoted ($450). We set up an appointment and
was really organized and professional with easy communication. He worked on my piano from about 8:30am to a little after noon. I had been playing on the piano for at least a month and a half prior to his visit, and I noticed a huge difference in the piano after he was finished. The sound was obviously great, and the touch was noticeably different. I couldn’t believe the sound and the control I had with musicality in the music I was working on. Even the inside of the piano looked better and less worn out. More importantly, I feel educated about my piano and
pointed out my piano’s quirks. He came back the next day to check my B5 that had some noticeable vibrato and he educated me on my piano’s quirks. I do not see it as an excuse for a bad job, because he would not have taken the time to come back to demonstrate and educate me. He wouldn’t even take credit for the brilliance in sound of the top
(he explained it as being a result of one of my instrument’s quirks!). After having a living breathing piano for 15 years, I have never been this educated about taking care of my instrument.
is definitely an expert that I trust, who speaks honestly and does a great job. He only fixed what needed fixing, and nothing more. I really enjoyed talking about music careers with him and he gave great advice. I am happy with the $300 I paid. It seems like a lot of money, but it is worth it because I see the value in maintaining my piano as a professional piano teacher. I won’t be paying that kind of money until another couple years down the road to counter normal wear and tear. I will be hiring
to come in more than just once a year to keep the piano in great condition for my lessons business. I’m sure he’ll advise me if I need repairs. Lessons learned: 1) cheaper service is not better 2) hire a registered piano technician 3) maintaining a piano is more than just a “
tuning” 4) Get to know your piano I am so glad I chose
, he’s the technician—and advisor—I needed for maintaining my piano.

"After several unsuccessful weeks of trying to connect with my previous piano tuner, I was desperate for help. I'm a singer and HAD to have my piano usable NOW. I went online" - Angie's List doesn't usually have trades people actually located in Lincoln Co. - and up popped
's name. And he is local to me! I called him and to my complete surprise he was able to come to my house THAT DAY! After setting the appointment, I checked his website and saw wonderful credentials and experience. His price was right in line, too! He showed up on time, with a text updating me on his progress to my home.
addressed every issue that my piano had and did NOT pressure me to purchase additional service or products beyond what I asked for. He was very willing to share knowledge that could prove helpful me, the instrument's owner and player. Deadline met! Disaster averted! A very happy ending. I will call him again for the next tune up.

Piano Tuning reviews in Laurel

I play our piano; my husband does not, but since I was unable to be home when Mr.
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
came to tune the instrument, my husband stayed home so that we could have the piano tuned as scheduled. My husband told me Mr.
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
was very pleasant and they had an enjoyable conversation while he was here.
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
found some issues with our piano, which he took care to explain to my husband, but since
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
knows very little about the instrument, Mr.
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
called me the next day to find out if I was satisfied with his work and to explain the problem he found when he worked on it. He also answered several questions about the piano that I had asked my husband to relay to him. I appreciated his answering these questions and explaining the condition of the instrument.
Since he tuned our piano, I have really enjoyed playing it again (it was very much out of tune). I will certainly ask Mr.
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
to tune it again--hopefully, he will offer his coupon again, which makes him very affordable for us. Regardless, I hope Mr.
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
can tune our piano again when it needs it. I have paid more in the past to have it tuned, and was not as satisfied as I am with Mr.

I would highly recommend Mr.

as a piano tuner. I have confidence in his knowledge and skill in his craft. I have found that it is difficult to find an excellent piano tuner. Mr.

is the 5th one we have used. I would say he is by far the best one we have found. I will certainly contact him when our piano needs tuning again.

was running late as he was running late because he was tuning in the city. He did keep us informed about the fact that he will be late though. He is a perfectionist when it comes to the sound and health of the piano, and gave us good advice on the placement of the piano, repair etc. We would definitely have
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
come back after 3 months to tune our piano again.

This where there is a huge difference between hiring someone to tune your piano and hiring a Registered Piano Technician (

The previous person who "tuned" my piano broke a string, and couldn't get it to stay in tune, so they put a piece of felt in place to dampen one of the strings.

, so he not only knows all 12,000 parts that make up my piano, he knows exactly how they should work, look, sound and respond.
After the tuning I mentioned that my piano bench wasn't moving quite right and I knew I also needed to consider reupholstering it. He flipped it over and saw that pieces were missing so the gears were not working correctly. He also happened to know a stellar tailor. He took my bench home for a week, took the entire mechanism apart and put it back together correctly, had the bench reupholstered and dropped by with a temporary bench so I could continue to play while the work was being done. End result: A piano bench that looks and moves as if it were brand new despite being 40 years old, and a piano beautifully tuned and thoroughly inspected.

I messaged
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
and he responded within 24 hours and set up the appointment to tune my piano. The piano hadn't been tuned in over 25 years. He was knowledgeable and did excellent work. He gave me options and was honest about what would work best considering the age of the piano. We made a 2nd appointment for some cleaning and basic maintenance on the piano as well as an additional tuning. My piano sounds great and plays perfectly!

The old truism about hiring a service provider, "good / cheap / quick: pick two" does not apply here. We got all three with
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
. He was able to come the day after I called, he took only about an hour to do the job, the price was great, and we got more than we expected!

It was a great experience: scheduling the appointment was easy, and
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
showed up promptly. He was very informative, warning me about various things that could go wrong with a piano this old, discussing different approaches, and making recommendations but giving me plenty of input based on how I intend to use the piano, etc. It's obvious how knowledgeable he is and how good he as at this work. He clearly took special care with the tuning even though the piano's not a "young" or fancy, and now it sounds much better than I thought it could. I'm very happy that I bought their Big Deal and will keep using their services as long as I live here and own a piano.

I contacted
Laurel Piano Tuners Provider Name Locked
to tune my 100+ year old Wurlitzer player piano. I knew from the get go that it had been poorly maintained previous to me owning it and let him know that up front, yet he was still willing to come out to not only do what he could, but also evaluate the condition of the piano. He was professional, courteous and did what he could with the piano and let me know everything that was going on from start to finish. He is a real professional and knows his craft well. I will not only use him in the future, but I would recommend him to anyone who needs work on a piano.
