Window Replacement Reviews in Germantown

We live in a rental and the neighbors kids put a hole in the screen. We tried and tried to get the screen out but couldn't. The service person scheduled that day called in sick and a replacement was sent. The replacement ended up coming way before my appointment time - which is not a bad thing but I was not home. When they got here it took no less than 30 minutes to get the screen and she didn't a great job!

Waste my time and my wife's time. Over The phone i was promised a better price than what we were quoted last time. They did give me a better price but left out the Sliding doors that was included in the last quote.

From start to finish the process was easy and proffessional. They come to your home, explain what the offer, tell you the pricing and set up an appointment date to have the work done. The Crew that came was proffessional and they cleaned up after themselves. Everyone we talked to throughout the process was knowledgable and kind. We would definitely use them again and plan to when we have one more window replaced.

all went well.

actually came to our place for an estimate. its always nice to see the head hancho come out to do some work. his numbers for less than others (
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
windows and home depot $600-700 per windows). he did not give us a lecture about windows (
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
windows spent 2 hours here giving me an educational lecture about windows… no, don't need it) and listened to us about not needing fancy windows…just one that is decent (
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
windows whipped out fancy windows with expensive price even after telling them we wanted to go on the cheaper side). price was $500 for each window...i'm new to home scheme so i still wish they were cheaper. waited 3-4 weeks for the windows to be delivered…took awhile to set up a day for installation but they came in, did their work, and cleaned up well. windows are neat, clean, and they work! would hire him and his team again for future windows.

We did our research on-line and determined through consumer reports that the highest quality replacement windows were made by
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and looked through Angie's List to find an installation company. One of the closest installers was
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Interiors which had an A rating and many glowing reviews. We called
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Nails and arranged for an in-home estimate. A very nice gentleman came out and helped us determine the best windows and gave us a nice price for the windows. We also needed to replace an interior door which lead into a basement area and wanted an all metal security door as the replacement. We set a date for construction and gave them a down payment. A few days later a man from
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Nails came out to an carefully measured the existing windows and door. The workers showed up on time on the appointed day. They were highly skilled and very serious about their work. They installed the windows and the door, but the window interior trim which we selected was not available in the pattern we selected. This posed no problem for us as the installed windows were expertly insulated by
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Nails and were hence weather proof.
The existing interior door was installed in a wooden frame. This wooden frame was precariously installed up against a cinder block wall. The door opening was very narrow (30"). The expert installers from
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Nails used great ingenuity and expertise to install the all steel replacement door. The installation was so perfect that when the door closed you could feel the air pressure change if you were on the basement side of the door. The door is heavy but the installers made is open and close as if it weighed nothing. I have never in my life seen a better installation!!!
The window trim arrived three weeks later and was the width we had agreed on which was 5 inches. When we agreed on the width of the trim no installation problems were discussed. Unfortunately, the trim was too wide and was installed such that it covered the top third of the existing electrical outlets centered under the new windows. I didn't make a big deal about it because I hate confrontation but really this really ruined the esthetics of the $12,000 windows. It is a small detail, but it has really diminished the value of the job. This is the only reason I rated them as B rather than A.

was awesome. Yes, the reviews you read here are right. She took a look at a leak I'd been having in one of my windows and was honest to say that the window didn't need to be replaced but just re-installed because it was installed wrongly. Such honesty is so hard to find these days...I'll definitely go to
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
if I need new windows in the future!

Let me start by saying that this is a review for Home Fix of
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked

The process started out with a knock at my door from a contractor asking if I'd be interested in a free estimate on roofing and windows. He showed me his official looking contractor's license and since I knew I'd be in the
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
for both services soon, I figured, "why not, it's a free estimate", so I scheduled an appointment. The representative promply called his scheduling mangager right in front of me to confirm a date/time and made me promise that both decision makers of the home would be present for the estimate. (HMMMMM). The Director of Marketing came out the next day to do the estimate. She was over an hour late. She sat down to explain what her company does and how great their prices are and specifically mentioned that they are on Angie's List with some very good reviews. I Googled Home Fix Corporation right in front of her and looked at their website. I later discovered by refering back to her business card that the website listed on her business card is not the same site or company as the Home Fix Corporation she claimed to be a part of. More on this later. She inspected my windows and did a heat lamp demonstration and promptly told me I needed new bedroom and basement windows, that mine were in bad shape. She gave me a quote on replacing those windows along with a whole roof replacement (without having seen or measured my roof as it was dark outside when she finally arrived for the appt). She told me that if I signed a contract that night, I'd get a 40% discount. My concern of course is why wouldn't the discount be available to me the next day? As I considered her offer, she could tell I was not comfortable with the $ committment and even offered to cut her prices. We haggled for a bit and arrived at what I thought was a good deal for a whole new roof and 4 new custom windows (2 of which are oversized). Since she was willing to meet me in the middle on pricing, I felt mostly comfortable with her and signed a contract pending

On my way in to work the next day, I started doing some digging and signed up for Angie's List. THIS IS WHERE IT ALL GOES WRONG FOR ME as I learned that THIS COMPANY is suposedly NOT AFFILIATED WITH HOME FIX CORPORATION. Home Fix of
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
seems to be allowing it's CUSTOMERS TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY AS the Home Fix Corporation who are getting good reviews on Angie's List. I called Home Fix Corporation and they had no idea who these people were. I eventually found some reviews for Home Fix of
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and they were aweful; same description of the gorrilla marketing tactic as was used on me. This company wants you to sign the contract right away so you don't have time to do your research or think, period. I decided at that point to cancel my contract but conveniently, the duplicate copy of the page I signed indicating the cancellation process was not returned to me at signing. I called the office and someone had the owner return my call. When I let him know that I wanted to cancel, he was extremely rude and unprofessional, and told me he doesn't want my business anyway. I asked him about getting a copy of the contract and what I needed to do to officially record my notice of cancllation and he said, "you told me you want to cancel so consider it done". Again, I asked him how I'm supposed to protect myself and should I follow up with the Dirctor of Marketing who was at my house the night before and he said, "do whatever you want". I called said Director and asked her for the missing contract page. She acted surprised that she hadn't given it to me and offered to drop it off at my house that night. While it took her more than a day and a half to return the paperwork to me, she did eventually return it and I followed the procedures indicated on the contract to cancel within the 3 day allotted time period (just barely).
It was not a disasterous exerience but the pressure tactic they used definitley left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I still have no indication from anyone if my contract was ever canceled. Incedentally, the windows that were in such "dire need of replacement" were easily serviced by the original installer. . . for free under their lifetime warranty.

The roof, window, insulation and soffit work all went without a hitch. We had a cold bathroom which sits over the porch and after talking to them, they recommended removing the soffit from the porch and insulating it. It turns out there was NO insulation in the soffit. Also our original doors from the builder lacked insulation.
There was a minor issue with the doors in that they hung the doors straight but apparently our townhome has a slight lean so a draft was felt. They had the dealer come out and check the doors and after a recheck, they rehung the doors. After that, the draft disappeared. It did take a few weeks to get the door issue resolved but they were responsive throughout the whole process and very helpful. My doors and windows are beautiful. They also had done a lot of work in the area so they knew the
Germantown Window Installers Provider Name Locked
requirements and informed us of what things would need to have approval before changing if we did want to change them.
Although, we had only minor drywall damage with our window installation, our next door neighbor did tell us that they had what they considered excessive drywall damage. Since the contract specifically states they are not responsible for drywall damage, they didn't fix it. That is something to consider and ask about but I don't know if that is standard or not in window installations.
Overall, we were happy with their service, professionalism and responsiveness.
