Moving Reviews in Gaithersburg

All in all, the move went well.
worked with me to schedule a day and time and arrived promptly as usual (this was the 2nd time we had used them). It took roughly 3.5 hours to move everything out of our cape cod and into the townhome. The leader, Mahki, was great and was in control of his team and how they placed and moved furniture. Unfortunately, his team wasn't as professional. We have nicks and dents in our new home where they hit the walls with furniture. Also, I was initially thrilled that we came in under the estimate (like the first time they moved us) however this time, we were charged a minimum of 4 hours (which I totally get) in addition to mileage and other fee's. It was an additional cost we weren't expecting. Lastly, and the biggest peeve of mine, following the move the entire crew stood around in front of the truck, which was parked outside our home, for
maybe 20 minutes smoking cigarettes and talking. While I understand that they worked very hard and needed a "break", I didn't really care for the first impression they left my neighbors with. I really liked
Movers and their pricing which is why I wanted to work with them during our most recent move, however, instead of leaving me with yet another glowing
review, I am turned off and most likely won’t use them again. I’d rather pay the extra money and get a professional crew who
’t appear to be hung over from the previous night’s parting and people who care about their reputation.

I called 800 number because this company has offices all over DC metro area.
was very helpful and accomodating. They moved my mothers antique furniture from
Methodist Campus to my home after she passed. The 3 young men were courteous and professional. Very helpful to me personally. They were familiar with how movers were accessed at
which is a unique situation. They were quick and efficient.

I originally asked for 4 movers. I don't have a lot of furniture, but I do have a lot of books and generic "stuff". The dispatcher said that they never send out 4 movers for my size move. So they send 2 & the first thing that happened was that the lead mover called for two additional movers for the job. They did a pretty good job, but it was possible to tell when they got tired and wanted to leave. The quality went down. They packed books in a box on top of a live plant which luckily I found before it died. Also they didn't think through the order of what they were moving, so they ended up moving things around multiple times. I'd recommend giving them very explicit instructions to get the best results. That said, they worked hard.

We bought a large, two-piece china cabinet on Craigslist and needed some help getting it to our house 3 miles away. The seller requested we come on a Sunday, but few moving companies operate on Sundays. Many that do wanted to charge a ridiculous premium for short-distance or had a time minimum.

was the only company that appeared to meet our needs. We had some trouble communicating with them at first -- had originally gotten a quote and tried to schedule using Angie's List's messaging system. When they didn't confirm our move date, we called them but they had no idea we had been in contact with them at all. Despite that confusion, we were still able to schedule them for our requested date. Our contact was

On the day, we got an early morning call from AFGCM offering to do the move earlier in the day due some changes in their schedule. After several calls back and forth with the sellers and waiting for AFGCM to get in touch with their movers, we ended up sticking with our original time.
The movers met us at the seller's house close to the tail end of the time window they'd indicated. They were polite and worked quickly, expertly wrapping the piece and carefully carrying it out of the seller's house. Back at our house, they were able to navigate our narrow entry stairs and got the cabinet in place and helped put the two pieces together.
We were originally quoted $195 for 2 movers but they ended up sending 3 movers and only charged us $175. Despite the communication hiccups, we're satisfied with their services and would use AFGCM again. Next time, we'll call them directly rather than depending on whoever is answering their Angie's List messages.

The crew arrived on time, and were organized and professional. They worked together as a real team. Everything was wrapped up in what I think of as industrial cling wrap. They made sure all the boxes were secure, and re-taped and wrapped anything they thought might be at risk of splitting or coming loose.
When we got to my new place, they put down runners to protect the carpet, and when they found that the couch wouldn't fit through the front door, they carried it around the building and brought it in through the patio door. They kicked their shoes off while coming in, so they wouldn't track in any dirt. One guy did this while stepping backwards--quite a trick!
They were kind, polite, and came in under the estimates of both time and budget. The friend I had helping me out said she'd use them if she ever got around to moving, and I will happily recommend them to all my friends.

Wow, we were so impressed. The unit was very heavy and we were concerned about damage to our new hardwood floor. The two man team carried it out of the unfinished area and placed it very carefully in position. They were early, very personable and the price was very reasonable. I would use them again for moving heavy pieces in our home and would consider them if we were to ever move.
I contacted a number of companies wanting professional movers due to our concern about the new hardwood floor. Many moving companies required a minimum of 3 hours with prices running about $300. That didn't seem very reasonable given that we just needed one piece of furniture moved less than 50 feet.

The second flawless move with these guys in a year. It was a little cheaper than last move because i still had some stuff boxed up. After all that time, the contents were still in perfect condition. I felt bad because this time around, the crew faced a 4th floor walk-up, but they conquered it with ease. Hope I stay put for a while, but I'll never use another mover.

This was the second time I used
Gaithersburg Movers Provider Name Locked
's Moving & Storage. Considering how "questionable" and unreliable moving companies can be in this country, it was a pleasure to use this smaller family owned and operated moving company again, moving my things from storage to a new townhouse in Potomac. They gave me their price per hour at the beginning, which included EVERYTHING and were very professional at all times. There were no surprises at the end like charges for wrapping, bubble, paper, etc. In the past, I NEVER had a moving company that actually charged what they initially quoted. I would highly recommend them for your moving needs.

Move was executed quickly, effectively and professionally. No qualms there. All work was completed within the three hour limit of the coupon. Would have been nice if they were more flexible on a trip to the county dump - should it have been within the time limit.
