Basement Waterproofing Reviews in Ellicott City

Removed and replaced approximately 80' feet of badly cracked concrete driveway. Work was done quickly and on schedule. There were no surprises and we were very pleased with the results.

The first inspection was very informative and educational. The inspector worked with me on the price and on a process that would do minimal disruption of the finished areas of the basement. They did not remove baseboards or cut into any drywall at all.
I researched various processes that are advertised to address my problem of water seeping in through the concrete brick wall from an area under my garage - waterproof paint seals, corner drains, etc. While other approaches may have solved the immediate water problem, I could see ways that they might weaken the foundation in the long run. I believe that the method used by
provided the safest and best way to ensure that my home would last without further repairs for a very long time.
The team moved some furniture I couldn't move myself and dug up about a foot of the concrete along the wall. They put in a new drain system and connected it to the sump pump which they replaced as well. They carefully drilled holes in the concrete wall to provide a way for the existing water buildup to safely release into the drain.
I would come down every so often and they would patiently educate me on their process which I appreciated.
I was very impressed with the care they took with my furniture and things. They covered everything and put up plastic hanging walls to protect other parts of the basement. After they were done and had laid the new cement flooring, they put the carpet back and moved the furniture back as closely as possible while still allowing the cement to cure.
They cleaned everything up beautifully. I hope to never need them again, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to call them!

Basement Waterproofing reviews in Ellicott City

I want to start by saying that I don't normally spend my time providing feedback but was so turned off by the salesperson that I felt compelled to provide feedback. A Sales Rep for the company came out and was thorough in providing us with detailed information regarding their french drains and the process involved. It goes downhill from there. I was totally turned off by the salespersons tactics in trying to get us to have the serviced performed by his company. I was showed his little binder with referrals dating back many years. We were also told by the salesperson how busy they were and he only accepted business within a certain radius of where he lived. Fortunate for us by his account, we were within the radius. We were told numerous times that the company "did not need our business" and then he proceeded to provide us with an estimate of $21,000 to install french drains around the perimeter of our rambler. When I informed the rep that I would not be signing any contract that day, he began the negotiations. I was told that he could bring it down to $18,000.I was told they were booking for October but if I didn't sign on that day we may have to wait until December. I was told that they were running a special financing with no finance charge for several years. I was told that there were only 6 of the "special finanancings" left and they were usually reserved for "single mothers" but he could make an exception. I once again told him that I was still researching my options. I asked for current references and was told that he would have to have the office contact me but because they were so busy and again "didn't need my business". Of course, by this time I had already decided I would not be using MidAtlantic Waterproofing and never received any references. I could go on and on with additional tactics use but I go back to the "we don't need your business" so "you didn't get my business". We have since hired another company and are very happy with that decision.

was GREAT. First of all they came out for the free estimate mere days after the storm. I must have called 8 or 9 water proofing companies the day after the storm. Some of the other companies never even called me back.

was just as busy as they were, but they found a way to get out to us for the estimate. They came out and walked all around our whole property and spent time talking with my husband and I to find the cause of the flooding in our basement. They helped us diagnose the problem during the estimate and explained that the fix was something we could likely do on our own. They have literally saved us thousands of dollars and the pain of having unnecessary work done to the house. The other waterproofing company that came out did not try to diagnose the problem, but rather tried to sell us a very expensive in home french drain system, which while it would have worked to keep the basement dry would not have solved the actual problem.
So glad to see that some companies still believe in honesty and integrity. Would definitely use them again if needed and have already suggested to friends that they call if they have an issue.

Last Monday our sump failed and resulted in a flood of a small area in the basement.
Ellicott City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived this morning at the time that was scheduled and inspected the area, the sump pump and the discharge area outside. He presented me with a few options in terms of remediation and explained the pros and cons of each. Ultimately, I determined that the source of the water and issues at this time were the result of the sump pump and not leaks eminating from the walls or the slab.
Ellicott City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
provided me with advice as to the best way to adress the sump pump issue and also explained in detail how

I had a pipe burst due to the extremely frigid temperature and water leaked out on the carpet in the basement through the broken pipe. I immediately had the carpet padding taken out to avoid mold. Though I had no major water logging issues in the basement, I wasn't sure if the leak

to or was a basement waterproofing issue. Nevertheless I went by the Angie's list reviews and called

was very patient, friendly and helpful. He arrived on time, looked at everything and gave me a truthful assessment. He assured me that we did not have a problem at hand. Basically said he didn’t want to waste my money and everything was in perfect shape since this was a one-time event. He even gave me some useful tips and checked on a few things for me, which ultimately gave me peace of mind that everything was in good shape.

They told me they'd take care of everything as far as covering things or moving things and rushed me into hiring them. They broke some window sills and some panelling. It was a mess. They came in and made a total mess to my basement. I had to call in cleaning crews to clean up after them. The work itself, as far as waterproofing goes, is good, but they left a mess. They didn't cover the furniture like they said they would and just stacked it up haphazardly. What a mess they made. They didn't care about my home. They were smoking right by my door and it was coming into the home. It was just a total mess when they got done. The owner was very rude when I complained. He wouldn't come out to look at what they had done. He sent someone else to look at things and they said it was normal. If they'd told me that that kind of a mess was normal I'd never have hired them.

I am young and inexperienced, and this person took advantage of my lack of knowledge and basically robbed me of $9000.00. I had a bad leak in my basement in December 2009. I made the mistake of paying him up-front for most of the work. Although the damage was just in one corner of the basement, this contractor came in and completely gutted the entire finished basement, pulling up all carpet and removing baseboard and approximately 1 foot of drywall from base of wall all the way around the basement. This is ridiculous since the leak was concentrated in just one corner of the basement. Over the course of 5 months,

and his crew were unreachable, and rarely showed up at all, or on time for the work promised. They first attempted to fix a basement leak by replacing the siding on my home (who knows why other than to take my money). They also did other minor fixes on the side of my home. After the leak continued, they dug up my driveway and dug a trench in back (should have done this in the first place). They then put in tar and new cement, and re-cemented the driveway. Of course, they did a terrible job, and the driveway is completely messed up, with cement placed on top of cement. It is completely uneven. I eventually had to pay another contractor $900 to fix the damage. Afterwards, they put the drywall back, but never covered my home theater equipment so it got covered in drywall dust and was damaged. They subcontracted to a carpet company called DC Discount Carpet to reinstall the carpet they had dug up. I paid these guys $400 to show up nearly 9 hours after promised. They did a poor job and part of the carpet the installed came loose. This subcontractor did not answer my calls to fix this and I had to pay another company to come fix the loose carpet. In addition, I had to hire another company to put the baseboard in and finish putting the basement back together because

We had a major basement flood due to snow melt and heavy subsequent rains.
Ellicott City Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
proposed putting in a sump pump and a drainage system around a portion of the inside perimeter of the basement. It was an emergency situation because the water level continued to rise, even though the clean up crew pumped the water out each day. Budget was able to schedule a crew for the next day, and their work resolved the issue. Unlike other companies that proposed putting a drainage system around the entire basement at a much higher cost, the person who came out to review the situation was very knowledgeable and suggested a modification that focused on the obvious problem areas contributing to the flooding. He was thorough, gave great explanations, explained all of the risks, and convinced us this was the way to go.

He came here and gave me an estimate. He took the mold samples. I had read on Angie's List that he had free mold testing. He charged us 300 dollars to get the results. We were supposed to get the results back last week and I still haven't heard back from him. He put these plastic little bottles in a room where we have obvious water issues to collect "air samples" he recapped the bottles. He would also stick this little pointed dual pronged tool with a guage on it, into the celieng where there is obvious water damage. He recapped the samples and said that if we wanted the results we had to pay 300 per sample, he recommended that we do 3 samples in each area. He claimed he never offered to present that special free testing. He also looked around at some damage and gave us some estimates. I have not made attempts to contact him as of yet. And he would just quote estimates with out measurements, not taking, pictures. He just walked around and quoted me money for some rooms and told me he would email me for the others. He explained that he was going on vacation with his family but was willing to contact me once he reached his destination. I said "No, that's okay. You have a good vacation, and I'll hear from you on Monday." I still haven't heard from him. I understand that things come up and that people should be understanding but I do not care for my expereince with this company thus far.
