"/Made a call the day before to have a washer and dryer checked. The washing machine would stop before the spin cycle. The switch needed to be replaced. The electric" dryer was taking 3 cycles to dry a load of clothes. The dryer had an obstruction in the tubing which needed to be replaced. Both problems were corrected in 1 visit.

I can't recommend enough. If you have a big chandelier and tall ceilings (my entranceway is 17 feet), you want to go with a lighting specialist who has years and years of experience. Payman and company fit the bill and, besides that, they are super friendly, professional and trustworthy. If you want the job done right and ...More you 't a price that's right, look no farther than . Thanks guys!

We had & Sons come out in the spring (April 2015) to treat our ailing Austrian pine tree. At that time, they described several treatment options. One being an insecticide injection using the Wedgle system (cost $200), another being a spring time spray to treat the problem. We chose this option ($70)
In ...More the interim, I called the USU Extension agent to discuss our tree issue. We talked at length and he suspected that we most likely have a pitch moth infestation. These are the only pests they have trapped on Austrian Pines in the Salt Lake Valley. He warned me about companies that may attempt to sell chemical treatments that are not proven to be effective. He also recommended that if we choose an injectable treatment, the only proven treatment for this was Emamectin Benzoate. (http://utahpests.usu.edu/IPM/files/uploads/UPCLA_Alston_2015.pdf) A USDA study showed Emamectin Benzoate 99% effective for up to 2 years on this and pine beetles. Imidachlorprid was only 60% effective, required two treatments. Other sources also warned about the highly pressurized systems that can cause damage to the tree's bark. ( http://extension.usu.edu/files/publications/publication/NR_FF_020pr.pdf)

& Son's Consultation:
Seeing continued pest activity with our Austrian Pine, and not knowing what the injectable chemical option was, we asked and Sons to send out an arborist for additional consultation and treatment plan. We were told that as customers this would be a free consultation.
, the arborist, had to be encouraged to even step close to the tree to take a look at the pitch masses developing. With no direct physical examination of the tree, he concluded that the tree was suffering from black & red turpentine beetle. He recommended the injection treatments using Imidachlorprid. The cost magically jumped to $250 and would need to be done at least twice. We would also need to spray in the spring ($70). As well, he recommended a paint-on fertilizer. These services were going to cost $570+ We chose to get another bid, because of the diagnosis, increased service contract price and the chemical advised we use.
A Second Opinion:
Subsequently, we got another arborist who spent quite a bit of time examining the tree and explaining that we had pitch masses (associated with clear winged pitch boring moth), not pitch tubes (associated with turpentine beetles). This consultation was at no cost and with no obligation! The recommended treatment was a single injection of Emamectin Benzoate that lasts 2 years - cost $175 total. We asked about fertilization and he felt it was not necessary, but was available if we wanted it.

Cancelling service through & Son's:
When we called & Son's office (Sept 13 2015) to let them know we were going to choose another service provider and the reasons why, they demanded immediate payment of $75 for the Arborist "consultation". I explained that the invoice provided us 30 days from the time of service (4 Sept 2015) and that we were told there would be no charge for the consultation. We would, however, pay the invoice and would like to cancel service. We again received a phone call from April , on (21 Sept 2015) demanding payment. Again, I reminded April that we had 30 days and they would indeed receive payment in full and on time.
In Summary:
This was a judgment call for us and we did not want to continue service with & Son's. and Son's should notify customers that have paid for a service and then requested an arborist consultation, that it will cost $75 should the customer decide to go elsewhere. H & S needs to clarify their policy up front. We felt deceived and in our dealings and the owner, April , it became unpleasant her demands for immediate payment when we in fact had 30 days (payment was sent on 24 Sept 2015). This was totally unnecessary and unprofessional. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

One of my beautiful Italian halogen floor lamps just needed a new bulb (which is difficult to install because if its complicated structure). The other lamp stopped working a few months after I had an expensive repair at another lamp repair place, When I brought it into them, I discovered it was under new management. The woman refused to honor the ...More previous repair and wanted appoximately $150 to fix it, telling me that halogen lamps are "terrible," When I brought both lamps into Nick, he had them fixed the next day. He charged $10.50 for parts and $25 for labor! No statements about how terrible halogen lamps are -- he just quietly fixed them! (I brought in another broken Italian halogen lamp where a screw had broken, and Nick pointed out that it needs a plastic screw, which he did not have. I'm searching the Internet for one now.)
I'll never go to anyone else to repair my lamps. He's terrific!

Took a table lamp that had a loose bulb socket and asked them to replace the socket. They were very helpful and they called me the next morning and had completed the work. Lamp is better than what I could buy to replace it because I tried. They are very pleasant and helpful. No high pressure sales tactics used. I will take work to them again and ...More recommend them to anyone needing electrical repairs.

I seem to remember having do some repairs more recently, but can't find it in my datebook. I know this wasn't the only time he did work for me. I wasn't aware he was on Angie's List, so had neglected to give him the review he deserved. is a super person to have in your contact list. ...More He can do just about anything and do it well. He is honest and reasonably priced. He works by the hour so everything is completely aboveboard. I have recommended him on NextDoor, the neighborhood Internet site, and I have noticed other customers who cite his good work in my neighborhood.

The showroom has a good range of lighting and ceiling fans that were a good match for our taste, needs and pocketbook. Most of the lighting is contemporary and wouldn't fit in our older home but shared several catalogs with items that might fit. She provided helpful advice around use of bulbs, etc. ...More during her visit to our house. I was a bit frustrated over the wait for the fans and the light repair; after a few calls, the staff did start calling me with updates.

l Had a broken floor lamp with a shade. The octaganol coupler which connected the shade to the lamp broke off for no apparent reason and I called Electrics to get it fixed. The conversation with " " was noncomittal and he said he would try to get out and take a look. ...More After several days of not hearing from him, I called again and said if he could just find the broken part we could even fix it (had to leave a voice mail) I had gone on line to see if I could find one but was unsuccessful. No response and I went into the hospital for hip surgery. While I was in the hospital, he showed up at my door and spoke to my daughter-in-law saying I didn't want him to take the lamp (not true) but he would take the part. This was after over a month from my first phone call for assistance. When I returned home on 6/19, I called a few days later and spoke to the office assistant who informed me that "" " was still looking for the part. I indicated that I was at that point upset that there had been no effort to contact me with an update of whatever. She assured me that she would speak to and get back to me. That did not happen and I called again. She again said that still had the part and I concluded at that point (after over 2 months) that he was never going to make any attempt to repair my lamp. I asked that he return the part, but still have heard nothing.. This is an expensive lamp and now it looks like I will probably have to replace it if it can't "be fixed". I am thoroughly disgusted with this organization and would certainly not recommend them.

Provided excellent service for multiple tasks. Personable and through. 4th or 5th visit for various repairs previously - all services were excellent.
